its cheesy as fuck - as they tried to hammer in anything they can from the comics, and Archie history, while they also wanted it to be "drama"
It's really right up there with "Somehow, Palpatine has returned" and "He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died"
I think we can all agree that all of Archie's plotline in season 1 (i.e. music vs football) could have been solved had he watched High School Musical

The retcon of Cheryl's age actually pissed me off bc the whole first season, she and Jason are Polly's age so significantly older than Betty and the gang but then randomly Cheryl is supposed to be the same age as everyone but they still acted like Jason was Polly's age even though he and Cheryl are twins?
The only thing that can make this okay is that Cheryl got held back.

Having watched all of Riverdale it's weird to hear about it being a normal teen mystery drama and not a time-travelling superhero supernatural, heaven v hell epic.
I just love all of the words & slang terms on Riverdale that out of context sound like /you/ are in fact the one on jingle jangle. Like imagine having a real life convo with half of this stuff.

The "publish hit piece on Alice" plotpoint is so funny because you learn oh yeah Alice hates the serpents but when she was young she was in them and got arrested" but if anything thats just her reason for hating them. The Jughead U of I storyline always had me cackling. It's spoken about like such a prestigious thing and when we see him at Iowa, it's a beautiful dorm building if I remember. I grew up 30 minutes away and have been there quite often. It's a huge drinking school with modern dorm buildings and is basically just a school based on hype 😂
As an Iowa State alumni im here for this Iowa slander. Not that Iowa state is much better tho.

Betty as an 86 year old women and her grand duaghter driving her to riverdale one last time made me cry before she died. How everyone dies at the end....🥲

So let me get this straight. The show was filmed in *Vancouver and one of the main characters has a maple syrup dynasty, and yet somehow we’re expected to believe that the town of Riverdale exists in the United States?
I've seen some maple syrup farms around Massachusetts/New Hampshire, entirely possible if it's a state near the Canada border imo
The town of Riverdale is set in Rockland county, New York (relatively close to NYC) Hiram mentions it in one of the later seasons when we get a backstory ep about him
