    I'm not even that religious, but the fact these guys are spending time trying to learn our stupid hard language just because they wanna interact with people and preach about their beliefs in a way that's more personal instead of shouting stuff out of a megabox. That's something I can respect. Keep it up.

    I'm so highly saluted to these missionaries taking time, effort and dedication to spread the Word of God to Filipinos. I love these missionaries.

      They're nice people, but they teach a false gospel that will lead their people straight into the fires of Hell.🔥😈😨

      @@nathanielolaer2389 And why would that be? Large numbers of Mormons don't even in literal Hell. The non Mormon girls go to Mormon heaven, which is a lot like the Muslim Heaven, lots and lots of women for multiple wives, the Muslims top out at 72, but I don't think that there is any such limit for the Mormon men. In their fantasy, the non-Mormon men like me get castrated, hopefully under anesthesia, to free up the extra girls for the Mormon men on their Muslim-style sex heaven. What is forbidden to them on Earth becomes what makes them heavenly happy up in the sky. Please explain.

    These young missionaries are extremely impressive. I live in Cebu and I was walking home on an empty road late in the evening and came across two of these fellows. One of them greeted me with "Bi-i," which is short for "Mayng gabi-i," which means good evening in Cebuano. The shortened version is extremely colloquial and is what you would normally hear from native speakers. It's amazing what feats we can achieve when we work to spread the message of Jesus.

      I don't have the same beliefs as the Mormons, nor do I want to, but their language learning seems to be excellent. Too bad it wasn't open to the general public.

    Why is the MTC teacher throwing missionaries under the bus (around the 2:20 mark) by saying the average missionary is not necessarily equipped the studying skills of the average person?? what's that all about?

    • @matthewhunter6421
      @matthewhunter6421 Před 4 lety

      I suspect all he means is they are teenagers still, not necessarily disciplined in their study etc like maybe a more experienced university student might be.

    See Poly-glot-a-lot channel on ACQUIRING language. See Prof. Brown's main video at the bottom of the video list. The method is based upon Prof. Krashen's hypotheses. It is guaranteed to work and is comprehensible input as used by polyglots. The only problem is getting speakers to read. Few Tagalog speakers help.

    Saying they are not allowed to watch the news is a problem because we all need to relate about things going on in the world, imo. Isn't that tho whole point? You can say we're in the world but not of the world, but being in the world means dealing with it to a certain extent.
