In my opinion, Lambert killed the entire show. He outclassed this show from the beginning, and this is one of the best all time performances on ANY singing show before or since. It's easy to sing big and bring it when you have a big voice. What he did with this song was near perfection. Love love love.

To put this into perspective: Outside the US noone knows Simon Cowell, while everybody knows Adam Lambert.
So I'd say it's damn right he gave some standing ovations.

I 've lost count how many times I've watched Adam's complete journey on American Idol. From his first audition I 've been transfixed & awed by his outstanding talent, stage presence & charismatic personality. So devastatingly handsome, fashion forward & just electric & exciting! I've seen Ahdam perform live 22X so far, beginning with his Idol Tour, his personal tours & 3 Queen + Adam concerts. He's a genuine Superstar, well deserving of his worldwide success. He's also still humble, appreciative, so warm & friendly, the real deal!
A standing ovation from Simon? That happens less frequently then all the planets in perfect alignment.
Every time I listen to and see Adam performing, I am overwhelmed by his unrivaled gifts - looks, voice, showmanship, etc... Consummate entertainer! I'm a forever fan.
I remember waiting with excitement to see what song Lambert would do each week. Nailed everything.

This was the last great season of Idol. It FASTLY went downhill after. Adam was easily one of the best "performers" to be on Idol and a damn good singer with power and an amazing falsetto. People always think it's about winning, it isn't. It's about finding your niche and being seen. Many contestants have great success with a Top 12 placing. He was probably better-off NOT being forced into a record contract where he had little to say about the final product.

Adam sang this song beautifully with emotion. His voice is one in a million, just out of this world. He's the only contestant that received a standing ovation from Simon. A.I. hasn't been the same since he graced the stage. And his career is taking off!!

I was disappointed also, but I don't think we can blame the show. Those judges were really rooting for Adam. Simon even went out of his way to tell people to vote for him. The people who voted judged him on his sexual orientation rather than his talent. Same thing happened to Clay Aiken.
That's so true. And also Simon was the best judge ever. After he went off, all the judges were wayyyy too nice so it's not fun to watch anymore. You knew you were good if Simon liked you, but now, all the judges go way to easy on everyone.
I think he has taken the lead spot with Queen...a great place for him...and a very suitable replacement for the late Freddie Mercury.

This is the song that Simon chose for Adam that season and even Simon gave him a standing ovation to one of his favorite songs. We just saw him with Queen 2 nights ago and even Brian May said they never thought to be on stage again until one moment on Idol. Though Adam will never replace Freddie he is definitely the heir to crown.

He's worked his butt off & deserves every bit of his success & respect & admiration from Queen, a perfect fit & full circle. Going to see him this Sept. in Vegas at the Park MGM. I believe if Adam had won, he would have lost his free agency, being tied to Idol as a winner. By not winning he was then open to offers by other music producers.

I watched most of the American Idols and just this evening a friend asked me what my favorite song was. Well, I have several but honestly the first song that came to my mind was Adam Lampert's original performance of "Mad World" which was the first thing I ever downloaded to my iTunes!
I just replayed it, sent it to my friend to listen to, and loved it all over again. I don't even remember who won that year, but all I can say it was the wrong choice. What a talent this guy is - he is truly amazing.

I don't Remember who did win, its 2018 however and i do Remember Adam Lambert. I remembered ever performance. I have not followed his career as I would have liked due to family illness which required constant attention. Adams voice and performanceso were a bright spot in a ugly situation. I look forward to catching up with what has happened since
