What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available! - Hry

IIRC, if done under proper Hindu principles, the Gods should not be playable for breaking down Their authority.
Perhaps they would be like a "big good", who might support players who complete quests issued by Them.

I've been waiting since day one and was not disappointment. One might be tempted to ask "Why is this God the perfect support?" The answer is obvious. Ganesha granted Hi-Rez success in this endeavor.

Xbalanque gets stronger for each kill, so pair him with Ganesh and voila, you get a broken hunter

Xbalanque's passive needs kills. If he gets kills he become basically stronger. So a god giving all his kills to a Xbalanque is their biggest dream :D

Ability Lore Breakdown!
Turn of Fate- Uses a Chakra symbol, Ganesha is the deity of the Muladhara (Root/First) chakra, in which he is said to reside. With that in mind it is perhaps an oversight that the symbol used is of the manipura (third) chakra.
OHM- Of course the most famous sound of Eastern Religions. Another name for Ganesha is Omkara (body of AUM). Om comes first in almost all prayers and Ganesha is honored first, so it of no surprise as a supreme diety he would come to be seen as its embodiment. The Sanskrit symbol for Aum also looks like an elephant.
Remove Obstacles- I would argue that more than being the God of Success Ganesha is known as the Lord of Obstacles and his epithets to such are numerous. Highly fitting then that obstacles would not hinder him.
Dharmic Pillars- Dharma is law and therefor that which holds up and ordered universe and society. Pillars of Dharma is often used expression and indeed literal pillars to Dharma have been erected. Moreover elephants are often mythological guards to these directions and Ganesha, as guardian of thresholds, is the master through which all must either pass or be blocked.

He is my type of guardian. I want to see the team win. Regardless of having high kill count or not and every single one of his abilities satisfies me. Can't wait to get my hands on him. (PS: gotta wait a lil longer sense I'm a console dude :(

Harry.Percy. Leo No they don't. Not at all. You have Zeus who is King of the Gods and Father to many Olympians. Ra who is the same. Odin who is the same. Geb is the Earth. There are avatars of Vishnu and other supremely powerful deities who are not overpowered. It's a game and they can design Sheva however they please.
Azrajin you have a point but in my opinion they wouldn't because he created the trinity by splitting him self into 3 gods so I think they would make Hanuman an form of him rather than Shiva himself like how they did with Vishnu

I like that Hi-Rez comes up with fresh ideas for gods, like Ganesha's I-can't-get-a-kill thing. It keeps it interesting and if you don't like it you can pick any of the other 86 gods.

shiva actually replace it with elephant head because he has no choice. he had to replace the head with the head of a baby that sleeps facing oppositely with its mother.

It was said that when there was a search for any animal's head, Lord-Shiva's soldiers came across an elephant and the elephant in his previous life had requested Lord Bramha to grant him a life with Lord Shiva and thus following the suit, the soldiers took him to Lord Shiva and made his wish come true. This is the god for me though. I love supports but it was hard to actually support without the chance of stealing kills (especially when guys are playing gods that need early kills). Should be interesting now

The head was not of an elephant, but of one of the Gana who used to travel with Lord shiva. In scruptures, it is written it had boneless limb, so everyone thought it to be head of elephant.

While I don't think it's bad on it's own, I feel like that passive is just going to reinforce the negative mindset alot of people have. You know. the one where you're playing any other guardian, help take down a hunter that was shredding your team and people thank you by raging at you for stealing what was clearly their kill against said Hunter who was previously running 20/0/5. Never mind that you protected your allies from someone that can shred them in two quick hits. You're now bad because your pitiful guardian dps happened to get the last tick.
This passive is actually useful. Because lot of supports when they get kills instead of the actual one who is trying to kill him/her, they got raged. This passive is actually very very useful.
Ganesha actually solos a lot of God's because he is tank too so it's a good setup.
Orrenn auto mute every time, random games with people you don't known rarely get strategy involved they can rage at will.

Ganesh is loving and kind.
One of the coolest gods to be added, Ganesha's design is beautiful (along with the rest of the Hindu Pantheon) and his abilities have a surprising skill ceiling, Ohm is a ridiculous ability for countering initiations and ganks, proper timing of this single ability can win teamfights so easily. I remember when he dropped, Ganesha mains were always super helpful and polite players, I think the passive does genuinely lead to a less toxic player, as players don't feel the need to steal every kill from their adc to pad their diamond portrait stats.

As someone who's been startled by my nephews more than once while not expecting them to be lurking in a doorway, can confirm Shiva did what any of us would've. I keep spare elephant heads around. Just in case.

One good synergy is with artemis and scylla. Casting dharma pillars and then throwing an enemy into a "sic em" or transgressors fate. This will cause them to take physical damage from. Transgressors or multiple instances of magical damage from the pillars and sic em
Ganesha is the aspect of god that is a remover of obstacles and intelligence
Finally a support character who actually acts like a support. Except for the half hit on anyone when you only have boots. Because guardians are still the ones who need damage
As an Indian and devotee of Bhagvan Ganesh, I love the design and super powers. I wish I can play this game here. It is amazing how other countries are respecting our cultures.
As a Muslim, I don't thing putting ur gods in a game is ever respectful. They have transformed ur religion in play and u guys enjoy it. Just an apinion, cause as a Muslim I'm not really into this stuff.

the change to the nene kappa wasnt huge,no one realy worried about killing the nene before,they awlays let it expire
josh butterballs kuzen was really good to me, i always do like 34000 dmg and still support well my team. people that complain about kuzen simply don't know hot to play him / build him. and i've to day that many times i missed some kills cause of the tiny life of the kapa, so that buff will be a really nice one that could make thatgod even op to me

They will announce when they will add another pantheon, but all of the playerbase doubts they will add another up until 2019. They have fill up both Japanese , Celtic and the others low scor pantheon like Mayans and Hindu before they add ANOTHER pantheon

Shiva didn’t use Sword to cut off the ganesha head, it’s called ‘Trisul’ ( same like trident 🔱 ) which has musical instrument attachment to it
