What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! I think that maybe be TOO much slow, that's 20% on star, 30% on frostbound, AND 15% on his passive, I think a 65% slow is way too muc xD

Danial3W I don't think poison star and frost bound slow stack. I know midgardian and frost bound don't.
Slows don't stack, whichever slow is the strongest will be applied and the others won't even matter

@@kevinnorwood8782 Yes, indeed. Cernunnos is associated with Beltane/May Day, for that day is said by many Wiccans (myself included) and other modern Pagans to be the annual wedding day between him and the Goddess.
@@TheaterRaven I know this is like... ages back, but to my knoledge Cernunnos's wedding is not actually well doccumented in celtic folk lore itself and is more a factor of modern wicca. I'm willing to be wrong, but as a celtic pagan who's been doing a LOT of research its getting really exausting trying to keep the historical celtic cernunnos seperate from stories told of the horned god in wicca
@@oneringtorulethemagicarp7199 I know that. I mentioned it in my above post, how Beltane is said "by many WICCANS" to be Cernunnos' wedding day. We obviously don't know when the Celts celebrated it, if at all. Very little is sadly known about the historical Cernunnos, and even less about how he was worshiped or where precisely he fit into the Celtic pantheon. The most that's known, as far as I'm aware (correct me if you've come across more), is that he was said to be a god of the wild, animals, fertility, etc.
@@TheaterRaven fair I just got a little confused because I kept hearing that assertion and I've been unsure if it was based on anything historical. and yeah, our understand of cernunnos in historical celtic myth is extremely limited, as its almost all speculative off of his artwork. we are pretty sure he's a god of the hunt, animals, wealth and prosperity, but wider nature and fertility are actually kind of shakey claims due to our lack of broader context. I personally beleive him to be the god of animals, wealth and hunting, as well as having links to the otherworld, general spirit work and nature. still, thanks for clearing things up, I know you made this post like, 3 years ago lol

Nope, it's Khazrak. Such beastmen skin would be much easier to make for Cernunnos. He could throw boomerangs and turn enemies into chaos spawns, razorgors or chaos hounds.
Actually yeah, the beastmen race is based upon fauns and satyrs.

i was trying to think out a concept for a ranged assassin for a while, since there are range/melee cross-overs in most other classes. This is pretty much exactly that. Assassin damage up front, reduced farther out but still present. Also massive ability to gank.

Spooder man it makes sense. all he's doing is toggling what effect he has on his glaives. it shouldn't cost anything to change that. Just like Orbz said, it's like stance changing.

OrbZ tyr has a long cooldown and ullr has 1 sec soo..
+Danial3W Tyr is an exception, he just works differently, when you switch with tyr all of your cooldowns are all ready, otherwise he wouldn't have that mechanic. Ullr has a 1 secnd cooldown because he only has two stances, whereas with this guy you need to be able to, as the video states, use protection shred then instantly click 3 times and have damage. He has 4 stances. Also, if it used mana that would be stupid as youre constantly switching and trying to quickly get to other stances, its part of his kit, and all other stance switches don't use mana too ofc.

different mythologies come from different cultures and as such have different pronunciations.
That's not correct. Cernunnos likely comes from the Proto-Indo European root kerh₂-. Same as words like "horn" and "cornucopia." Celts who wrote with the Greek alphabet spelled it with a kappa. There's pretty substantial evidence that it's pronounced with a velar stop and not a sibilant.
MeiaLua That explanation is a bit too academic. Instead could you answer the question of is the beginning of his name pronounced as with C sound or a S sound.

His passive is very questionable. But I love the mechanic on his 1, that's great. His clear seems alright, cc is nice too. Will be fun to see him in action! Defenitely one of the more interesting hunters out there.

They could do a beauty and beast skin, he could throw plates and cups depending on the season, his two could still be thrones, his three being the charge is still ok, and his ult can turn them into clocks and candles
