What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. Daji was actualy a real person.In-game Da ji's ultimate is baced on a torture device ,created by the original Daji, named ,,Paolao" ,with is a bronze cilinder covered in oil and heated like a furnace with charcoal beneath until its sides became extremely hot. The victim was made to walk on top of the slowly heating cylinder and he was forced to shift his feet to avoid the burning. The oily surface made it difficult for the victim to maintain his position and balance. If the victim fell into the charcoal below, he would be burnt to death. The victim was forced to dance and scream in agony before dying.

For the high power it provides, for which you *don't* need the stacks which only give 20 extra power.
AthenaWhisper Yes but there are lots of better options if you're just looking for pure power, because you have to keep in mind that when you get Trans on a jungler especially as your last item, your basically giving up the benefit of a passive. Something like Stone Cutting Sword would probably be much more effective, or better yet don't go full power at all and get defense instead. Also side note 35 power is not a whole lot of power by itself, and the stacks do give more than 20 extra power it just depends on how much mana you have.
Except the Passive by itself with have Trans giving you *easily* 70+ power by itself if you buy it that late.
The power from the *stacks* is 22, because it gives 750 Mana in stacks, 3% of which is 22. With the Item alone and no actual Mana from the god itself, it provides 44 Power at base, and 66 at Max Stacks.
At Level 20, Da Ji will have 1020 Mana of her own, so Trans will give her an extra 30 power off of that. So it'll give her 74 power when she buys it at level 20, and 96 power when it has all it's stacks. And that's excluding if she buys any other items that give her mana.

Here’s a tip when playing da ji. If there is to many people and your ultimate is down along with one thousand cuts teleport to a minion as quickly as possible that’s what I do
Funny, in the actual story (Investiture of the Gods, or Fengshen Yanyi), Daji was either exorcised or killed depending on certain different versions. One version says she was an actual fox spirit in the guise of a woman named Daji (in which she was killed), another version had her kill a woman named Su Daji and possess her body, and another version had her actually possess the alive body of a noblewoman named Su Daji (in that case she was exorcised). Daji is also the only historical figure to appear in the Chinese Pantheon :). Yes, she's a real person and so is Zhou, but in legends and stories, Daji is depicted as a fox. Love her design here, in my opinion she and Ganesh have one of the best designs so far. Love the orange theme!

Daji in real life was the favorite concubine of King Zhou during the Shang Dynasty 1600BC - 1046 BC. The real Daji wasn't a fox spirit nor was she possessed by one, she simply was a cruel woman who took control of the court. Because King Zhou was so obsessed with her, he allowed himself to fall prey to her influence and manipulation. Because of her, Zhou disregarded his duties as King and the whole country fell into poverty and disaster. She killed many of Zhou's ministers and officials and had several methods of torture such as having a heated pole/pillar covered in oil with burning charcoal at the base and people had to walk over it. She even had the original Queen executed as well, though I can't remember what was the reason. She is a classic example of a femme fatale and possibly the origin of evil female fox spirits appearing in various media today. But because people at the time couldn't fathom how one can be so incredibly evil and cruel, they blame her cruel actions on the fact that she was possessed by a fox spirit. The real Daji was simply executed.
In Ancient China, whenever a king or emperor comes into power, the people say that he was "mandated by Heaven" as in, Heaven was the one who chose the king, but when a king becomes corrupt and cruel, then they are not longer "mandated by heaven" and therefore the people have a right to rebel and revolt against the king. That is why a man named Ji Fa, who is the son of one of the counts, raised an army to kill Zhou and Daji.
This entire even was turned into a romanticized Ming Dynasty-era novel called "Fenghsen Yanyi" or "Investiture of the Gods", where it tells the story of a Taoist Immortal/Sage named Jiang Ziya who was tasked to recruit several people and make an army to fight against Zhou and Daji. The real Jiang Ziya was simply a fisherman who became one of Zhou's advisors but in the story, he is often depicted as a mystical sage who was given a list of people he need to "invest" in, one of whom was Ji Fa (and in the end they all become deities). Ji Fa also became the first King of the Zhou Dynasty, the Dynasty after the Shang. One of the other few people he recruited was, as mentioned above, Nezha and Erlang Shen (or rather he's called Yang Jian in the novel).
Nezha is the third son of a man named Li Jing, who patrolled along the valley of Mount Qianyuan which is located near the East Sea, where the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea Ao Guang, lives. Honestly I can dive into is story further if you want me to. Nezha is my favorite Chinse deity and I love him a lot. Basically the gist of his story is that he was born after being in the womb for 3 years, he was often quite naughty and would always get into trouble which is father dislikes him for. One day, he got into a fight with Ao Guang's scouts and the Dragon Prince Ao Bing was sent to fight Nezha but Nezha killed him instead. Outraged, Ao Guang demanded Li Jing to pay for his sons actions but Nezha offered himself as a sacrifice instead and killed himself. He was reborn again later after his master used magic to build him a new body and Nezha wanted to take revenge on his father but he was forced to apologize to his dad and make amends. Although I cannot find the full story, so I can only assume at the end of the novel, Nezha and his dad were turned into deities after successfully helping Jiang Ziya and Ji Fa defeat Zhou and Daji. Li Jing became known as the Pagoda Bearing Heavenly King (he was granted a magical pagoda to trap demons) and Nezha was known as the Third Lotus Prince. Nezha and his dad also appear in Journey to the West where he does help Sun Wukong (aka the Monkey King) in defeating several demons (including the famous Bull Demon King). Nezha was Monkey's friend in Heaven. Most of the time, a lot of Chinese media like depicted the two as best friends or brothers. I like to think they were best friends too hehe. In Journey to the West, Nezha and his dad work for the Jade Emperor. His dad was the Jade Emperor's general for the Heavenly Army, and Nezha was his right hand man. Nezha also fought against Monkey at the beginning of the story when Monkey was causing mayhem in Heaven. Nezha fought Monkey for three days straight until he got tricked and earned a broken shoulder from Monkey's staff. Nezha today has become a bit of a revolutionary and relatable figure by Chinese youths. He is becoming more popular today. Monkey was always the popular shining star in various media (both East and West) but Nezha is slowly becoming more popular too. His story has themes of filial piety, which is when a child is honorable to their parents and would want to give back to them, its very common attitude to have in a lot of Asian cultures. Nezha is known as a war god, but also a protection and filial god too, especially over youths and children.
Erlang Shen/Yang Jian has many different stories to him. But his most famous story is that he was a half-deity, he was born to a Goddess mother (named Princess Yaoji) and a human father (Yang Tianyou). Princess Yaoji was the sister to the Jade Emperor, so he is the nephew to the Jade Emperor. But falling in love with a human and having a demigod child was outrageous and against Heavenly law, so the Jade Emperor trapped his sister under a mountain. Yang Jian then used an axe to cleave the mountain and rescue her. Honestly there are many different depictions of Erlang Shen, but him being the nephew of the Jade Emperor is the most famous one and many media use this story for him. Some stories say he had two other siblings, and others say he was the son of Li Bing, a hyraulic engineer. This version of Erlang Shen was famous for stopping river floodings and defeating an evil river dragon. Even his mother appears as different people in different stories too so, his origins are all over the place. He appears in both Fengshen Yanyi and Journey to the West. In Fenghsen Yanyi, he was a student training under a Taoist sage and helped Jiang Ziya fight against Zhou and Daji. In Journey to the West, he first appeared when Guanyin, a Bodhisattva, called upon him to help capture a very angry Sun Wukong (who had been causing lots of mayhem in Heaven). He and Monkey had a shapeshifting battle but ultimately Monkey was captured by Lao Tzi (also known as Taishang Laojun as a deity). Erlang appears again in the novel to help Monkey defeat a demon known as the Nine-headed Bug Prince. In the novel, he is given a third eye, a three pronged spear, and a dog called the "Howling Celestial Dog". Like Nezha, Erlang is also known as a filial deity as well. He is known as the greatest warrior in Heaven and is pretty much an ace, he's smart, he's handsome, he's a warrior, he's a scholar, he can do magic. He's basically who everyone wants to be lol.

Edit: forgot to mention that Erlang Shen is a title, which stands for "Second Son God", his real name is supposedly Yang Jian, which makes sense considering his father's name was Yang Tianyou.

- I never knew daji was a real life person and not an actually myth, I genuinely thought it's part of Chinese mythology so hearing that she is in fact real is just shocking.
- I'm kinda glad that the the shang dynasty fell tbh, no people should be governed by an incompetent and cruel rulers.

Fun Fact: Da Ji's second ability is a formerly common execution method in China called Lingchi or 'Death by a Thousand Cuts.'
The real lore to Daji ends with her being executed due to her evil deeds. Someone exorcised the ninetailed Vixen spirit from her body and she eventually died. Maybe the spirit still lurked on another plane tho and didn't truly die. It is true tho that the body of Daji that the Ninetailed Vixen possessed died from the ninetails.

Her ultimate should have been a skill shot execute with her tails, If they are below the health threshold then she rips them into pieces killing them but if not then they take damage and are pulled to her and maybe if she executed someone with it would half the cooldown of it. I just feel like the Nine Tailed Fox should do something with those tail rather than just wearing them like a butt skirt.

@Loc K If you look closely, she has fox ears. And Koei made Daji in her human form. I'd love it if they also have a fox form for her too or just add 9 nines to her would be fine too. But I doubt they would do it since they already had Tamamo no mae in her fox form.

Smite is generally more balanced than LoL (as someone who plays both, more LoL than Smite), but this is most likely due to Smite having fewer characters to choose from. The more gods Smite gets the harder it will be to balance.
That's true in general, the more elements to balance the harder it gets, but I feel like Smite tries too hard to make every ability flashy, without having a nice flow between abilities or a coherent theme for a character.
