Um, yeah, one thing. What if your LGBTQ+? For example, i'm omnisexual which means to have an attraction towards all genders & have preferences. I for example as a preference, I'd say I go with women since I have more experience with them than with other genders. I have never dated a man. Never in my life.

Thank you! This is so true. I have a hard time letting go and trusting God in everything. I tend to tell God I trust Him, then try to figure everything out myself. I over plan things. Then when something doesn't turn out the way I had in mind, I get mad at God. And realize I never really gave Him control.
God's Original I do that too, but I don't get mad at God. I get mad at myself for not trusting God.

Hey Mark. I would say another “fear” is as my late wife once told me how she felt about me and as I realized that I felt about her. She once told me her love for me felt so powerful. I think people fear being “out of control” when their love or feelings for another is so strong that they can’t stop it or control it

Dating God and falling in love with Him, His Word, His Spirit-understanding the loving sacrifice that Christ made (I mean really analyzing and appreciating it- pain, suffering and all) will make it easier to have happyness with someone else because at that point in your relationship with you Abba/Father-God Almighty, you come to realize that another human being will not complete you...God does! This takes off the pressure of the other person having to satisfy a gap that he/she can never fill and it gets rid of the fear of losing the other person that is your mate. Perfect timing! I knew I felt like this but I keep over analyzing my feelings, actions, thoughts and that of the other person. I’m working on grasping and believing the understanding that I only need to rely on God and that I don’t need validation from any man Bc I’m already loved by God.

sassarific i know. It’s a tough one when we’ve been used to compete for male attention instead of God’s attention. I just requested a mentor at my church Bc it almost seems like I’ve been struggling with this almost every day. I also learned recently that as a single I should be praying for God to show me What to do with my singleness vs. asking why. Hope you stay strong in the word of the Lord my love!

God said through Peter that if you seek your calling and election, and seek to fulfill it, you will not stumble or fall. To me this means to surrender everything to Jesus Christ and seek His will for my life. when the right woman comes around, I will know because I'm not the one doing it and focusing on it. God is. I believe too many Christians are putting too much focus on a date when they need to keep all eyes and Jesus and their future with God, and the right person will come along and if you're sold out to doing God's will, you will know if that person is not the one that God wants for you. This caught my attention because I had a huge crush in highschool that I was also afraid of, even though they liked me back, but they too were afraid. It's been 3 years since I've seen him and I don't regret being afraid, since back then I had so many problems and didn't pay attention to god. In these three years I learned that I don't need a relationship with him, I needed a relationship with God.
I used to be so sad about being alone, but now I'm thankful for all my lessons leading me back to God. I really don't care about getting one anytime soon because even if I'm single all my life, Jesus loves me and I love him.

. . . Because internally we're asking 'am I worthy of being loved' and we're looking for that validation from the other person. The fear is if the other person 'rejects' us the answer to us being worthy is then no. We also overthink the possibilities of what could happen with this other person; 'paralysis by analysis.' The thinking is that the best way to not mess something up is to not even attempt it. Leave the outcome to God. Lastly, we fear the unknown's of life. Real wisdom brother!

Exactly what I needed to hear I'm 50 years old and ever since I was young I could never completely commit myself to another person because I was afraid we wouldn't last I wanted to know the outcome. It all started from being abused as a child by both my mother and father I grew up not trusting people. Thank you for sharing this even though I'm older I still hope to some day have a healthy relationship trusting that God has it all under control.

Amen. I also want to share another reason I’ve noticed that people might be intimidated by the person they like. The person they like has post graduate education. If that’s you, I’m here to tell you to not fear that. A person might have a PhD in rocket science, but will behave like a toddler when the slightest inconvenience happens to them. In other words, a person may be well educated, refined, cultured, etc. But you have to take note of their emotional intelligence as well. Therefore, don’t let their multiple degrees scare you. Get to know them as a person and how they respond/react to things. That (not their degrees) will tell you a lot about them. God bless. ❤️

I also got obsessed with my cellgroup member to the point where I didn't want to go for youth camp because he didn't go but I paid for it already. I still went for the camp last year.
And I went for confession and the priest said start with friendship first. I went to the camp with a heavy heart. Only manage to be free during corpus Christi feast day from the obsession this year. Well, I prayed for him a lot and for forgiveness from him and forgiveness for myself too. My prayers worked. I am better now but keeping a look out for the sin so that I don't repeat it. Pray for me still. Thanks
Now, after all the prayers, I find I can talk to this guy which I obsessed about last year, interested in talking in social media or WhatsApp. We are talking normally on social media, praise God! But I am still practicing patience and self control over him. I am letting go of my control over him. Always give him the benefit of the doubt always.

This is me! I have really done a lot of these things in the past. Over analyzing and not pursuing because I had gone over every scenario. Then I thought of how everything will go wrong, I don’t start and I keep my feelings to myself. This was the result of being the opposite in my early 20s when I over pursued. Now I’m trying to find the balance and also asking God to guide me.

Oh, I started seeing this very sweet guy then month later he never wanted to have anything to do with me, so, now I can see how this weird fear came to be. I still pray for him, Eric, and I talk to him from time to time but, well I miss him. He knows that, and all these passed 7 months I thought it was God just saying no, I think I can just wait to see if he comes around to being with me, yet, I will work on prayer and good righteous friendship, and now I can stop beating myself up about it. omg i was told by by friends that I am a perfectionist where I don't feel I am, i just thought i am a detailed oriented person but when you said perfectionist procrastinate so that they don't mess things up if they never started at all!
