    Great video, you made that look really easy. Couple of questions, what exactly were your symptoms? You mentioned vibrating but was there anything else? I've been on the hunt for some random roughness in mine. So far I've replaced cv axles, front struts and rear shocks, and put in new plugs. Idling is a bit smoother after the new plugs but I'm still chasing random vibrating while driving at certain rpms. I've checked my motor mounts and they don't look very worn so I don't believe they're the culprit. Wheel bearings are on my radar but the problem goes away at freeway speeds if I put in in neutral and let off the gas.

      Everything looks easy on CZcams if it's documented properly lol thank you! The symptoms were the crank shaft sensor and cam shaft sensor were throwing off error codes at the same time and after a proper diagnostic I figured out the timing chain was loose and that would cause the sensors to go off at the same time. It's not often both sensors go off at the same time unless the timing has slipped or stretched.

      @@NaritasanStudiosthanks for the reply, I'd love to quiet my car down but I don't want to throw random money at it over and over. Gets expensive for minimum results.

      The only thing is if you wait too long it will do more damage than it's worth. So if you're above 100,000 miles you're at risk. Food for thought 🤔

      @@NaritasanStudios OK good point, another quick question If you don't mind. You were showing the marks at TDC and then once the chain was on you pointed out the gold links and were they lined up. That seemed straight forward until I realized it didn't look like the TDC marks were in the same spot.

      Yeah the cams moved slightly but when I put the new chain on I was able to get them to stay in one place till I could tighten the chain tensioner. They make a tool that goes between the gears but you don't need it if you know how to align everything by hand.

    Hey brother, when I take the motor mount off do I need to support the engine with like a jack or something or is it fine as is?

      @@NaritasanStudios well what do you think is the right way, a floor jack? jack stands, doesnt matter just put something beneath it?

      @adairjanney7109 I used a floor jack a majority of the time. Anything that will support the weight of the engine and not damage the oil pan

    Do you need to change at 100k if you aren't having problems?

    • @NaritasanStudios
      @NaritasanStudios  Před 5 dny +1

      The trick is to replace it before it goes bad. It will inevitably go bad eventually between 100-150k you're lucky if you make it to 200k.

      @konrad2149 most people sell their vehicle before they replace the chain or belt depending in the vehicle so they avoid the repair costs.

    How much would a shop charge to do this kind of repair. I have one that needs done but i work too much. Jus kinda seeing what i might be looking at on price.

    • @NaritasanStudios

      Cost of parts, and 8 hours labor. Call around and ask some shops near you

      I keep having issues with the timing jumping when I try to rotate the motor by hand. I lined up all the timing marks and pulled the pin but the second I rotate the engine the timing chain goes loose. Any tips?

    • @NaritasanStudios
      @NaritasanStudios  Před 13 dny

      @kking1106 there's a tool that locks between the cam gears and keeps the gears from turning.

      @@NaritasanStudios I had everything done on it and the tensioner locked in. It says to rotate the motor 2x and check timing I did that and it jumped again. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

      Did you release the tensioner when the chain and cam gears were lined up?
