- Trapping is an integral part of any property management program. Reducing coyote numbers is often the focus of most trappers, but raccoon and opossum trapping should also be a part of the focus. Not only are they nest predators that hinder the success of quail and turkeys, but they also have a negative effect on properties utilizing a supplemental feeding program.

We take out all the nest predators. Regardless of what the bleeding heart folks say. I’d rather see more turkeys and quail anytime!
I can catch an opossum every day for 3 months and next year they’re overpopulated. Same with coon
You guys put food out in the wild what did you expect?
I had the same problem with baiting the live cage traps. My uncle showed me to dig a small hole so that the bait is level with the ground and then set the trap on top of it where the trigger will go off. Give it a shot.
Bobcats and raccoons foxes coyotes they eat the Turkey eggs
Did he just pull a marshmallow from his shirt pocket🤔😂🤨
Most country folks know this information, it’s the city dweller’s that need educated not just about the value of the trapper but the regular use of a tool called a firearm.
I hope you relocate the opossums. They are marsupials-- the only ones we have in North America! Excellent pets!!! Wonderful animals , and they don't get rabies, unlike cats and dogs.
In the US are about 40 coons per square mile….we got some work to do…
Opossums have been in this world for +65 million years, they walked with dinosaurs and they survived their apocalypse. I am pretty sure they will make it long after humans and our greed is gone.
Great video and I agree with it. I do wish you had put the link of the wire box traps in the description below. Thanks for the video.
This video has inspired me to get out and start managing these turds I see less turkeys every year. Time to get to work
Excellent video thank you!!!

I have the same xtra large hilltop trap. I have to wire bait to the back in order to get it to trigger the door to shut.

Those cage traps by Hilltop cage shop cannot be found anywhere on the Internet, anyone know why?
I use peanuts on cave traps, just drop them between the wires on the top.
