    I gave away my Weber Propane E-325s, got a Kamado Joe Big Joe 3, and never looked back. I have a Kamado Joe Classic 1 coming in for small tasks. I could never get propane to get that charcoal-smoked flavor!

      there are charcoal trays, but they dont work as well a charcoal grill. That Big Joe will be epic.

    I'm pretty torn between gas and pellet. I love cooking and I'm closing on my first home in a few months, so I'm dying to get into backyard grilling. We'll have a gas line running to the backyard so I think gas is the way to go since I won't have to worry about propane and I cook a lot of steak and chicken. But I also work from home so I'll have plenty of time to smoke things... I think I'll have to go for one of each

      There ya go! I always suggest get a gas first then a smoker, but if youre wfh you should be set.

    Great info/video. As a charcoal guy for the past 10yrs I’ll be staying with a charcoal, probably barrel style. But what in the af is Pat Perez’s bag doing in the back? Awesome sim setup man, that made me more jealous than the grill warehouse lol

    You said "click the link down below to see the video" to see where you sear steaks and they liked the gas grill evrsions better.... I'd love to see that but where's the link?
    I just got my Napoleon Rogue 525 SE a few days ago (with the full size Sizzle Zone), assembled it.... and HAVE NOT had an opportunity to actually use it yet, but I can't wait of course.
    There are a LOT of videos out there where people prefer the charcoal grills over gas grills, when it comes to grilling steaks and while it is controversial, I've always had my doubts about this. My doubts stem from having tasted a rotisserie grilled chicken more than 20 years ago on a Weber gass grill. I had no doubt _then_ that charcoal grills added more flavour to virtually anything you could put on a grill, but BOY was I set right ! This thing was the juiciest and most delicious chicken I'd ever tasted.
    It may be, that PRO charcoal griller-dudes can work wonders with charcoal grills that can't be replicated on gas grills, but for the layman thats not interesting.
    So: The link dude?

    To me the gas grill would be the first pick. Our house is all electric so if we lose power no way of cooking. We had an outage and hey let’s fire the grill up. My smoker is typically my weekend thing. Brisket or pork butt which takes so long and just having the app notify me when it has reached temp or low on pellets is awesome. I have seen the egg style charcoal grills and for my purposes it just doesn’t fit. The amount you can cook on it with having to keep more of an eye on it. What are your thoughts on electric grills and smokers? I know they are way lower on the price range by my olde masterbuilt 30 inch did some awesome cooking. Our friends even have an electric grill which I was thinking an outdoor foreman grill almost.

    A pellet grill is a one year grill at best .that pellet grill will rust up outside and be trash for metal scrap. What are they thinking .

    Gas is the best, you can't beat convenience. Perfect analogy would be like gas is living in first world country and charcoal is living in a third world country. I know some fan boys will still argue and I would say to them, well you can make a first world country feel like a third world country (i.e. being homeless) but not vice versa. Convenience is KING!

    • @embersliving
      @embersliving  Před rokem

      hard to argue

    • @TheGreatBlumpkin
      @TheGreatBlumpkin Před rokem +2

      I went from charcoal to gas and it’s a huge downgrade. Figured I’d try a pellet smoker, turns out it’s even worse than a gas grill! Convenience doesn’t make up for flavor. I’d rather eat “third world country food” than food with less flavor.

    • @Taivar007
      @Taivar007 Před rokem +1

      McDonalds is also convenient.
      I'd rather have 3rd world country food that is made with hands and heart, not some rushed out over-processed automation line work. Food wise 1st world is truly going backwards.
