  • This reel from Tuesday Productions contains the production package for radio station KPRQ (AM 1230) in Murray, Utah. At the time, the station branded itself as "K-Park 12." The station has undergone many format and call letter changes over the years -- at the time of this upload (2023), the call is KJJC.
This transfer was made from a 1/4" tape, captured at 44.1/16 bit with no filtering, EQ, noise reduction, compression, or other monkey business.

Looks like KPRQ was 1230 in Murray, near Salt Lake City. It's now KJJC.

Amazing knowledge - thanks for solving the mystery! Through Wikipedia I found a site with the history of Salt Lake radio and there is a mention of “K-Park 12” - www.oldradio.com/archives/stations/slc-hist.htm

I Think that the moniker for KPRQ is called "K-Park 12 AM".

Can you expand on that? I’m not sure of the meaning of “K-Park 12 AM.”

@@VPR2B Well KPRQ was trying to find a moniker A.K.A. a nickname for their Top 40/CHR station so they decided to call it "K-Park 12" because Utah has national parks, hence their moniker "K-Park 12".
