"Clips from the documentary JACO were featured on the Bowl’s big screens. Celebrating the late, visionary bass pioneer Jaco Pastorius, the concert brought together many jazz greats performing the iconic Word of Mouth album as well as other repertoire he was renowned for performing, reimagined by Grammy-winning arranger Vince Mendoza.
Herbie Hancock, who performed on Word of Mouth, introduced Wayne Shorter and his Quartet, who opened the show, as well as introduced the special guests and served as host throughout the evening."

I used to think a lot of positive things about him and then I travel to New York and I saw him on the street begging for money and it was the most disgusting site the pictures are out there he was at his lowest and it's all mental health stuff so but help existed back then I just don't understand why no one got him into the proper place he would be here today if people around him had done their job and they didn't and they let him down and he's dead
