- On October 6th at the Smith & Wesson Tennessee Headquarters Grand Opening, Jerry Miculek attempted and set two new World Records with his Smith & Wesson Revolver, beating out Max Michel’s old record and setting an entirely new record.
Fastest Time to Hit 6 Target Plates from 7 Yards with a 9mm Handgun: 2.01 seconds.
Fastest Time to Hit 6 Target Plates from 7 Yards with a 9mm Revolver: 1.88 seconds.
Over the past year, Jerry has dedicated himself to countless hours of practice, reacquainting himself with the revolver platform after a hiatus from professional revolver shooting. A veteran of competition shooting, he has proven once again that he is a legend of his craft. Congratulations, Jerry!

Outstanding as usual. Congratulations, Jerry! You're the reason I started shooting wheel guns and competed in IDPA with a 686 Pro Series. I tell people that if you can master the double trigger on a revolver, every other trigger you pull feels like cheating. Your positive attitude, hard work, and humbleness are second to none. You are most likely the most influential person in competitive shooting sports of all time. Get some!

Are you aware for any specific things to reverse this decline?
@@solistas8005 I’m not a heath care provider, so check with your doctor rather than depend on the advice of some random guy on the internet. That said, high intensity resistance training has been shown to be effective. High intensity meaning higher weight load for compound movements. For example, squats, deadlifts, bench press, pull-ups, or equivalent machines for 4-8 repetitions for 3-4 sets 3-4 times per week. Obviously, if you haven’t lifted weights since high school, you will need to work up to that. Also, some low-level plyometrics such as skipping rope might help too. If this sounds too ambitious, anything is better than being sedentary. A daily walk after dinner definitely couldn’t hurt. Good luck!

I would be thrilled to be half that good.
Get a s&w revolver and train a lot. Dry fire a bunch. I go to range 1 time per week and maybe dry fire about the same, and just dry fired from draw 6 shots, in 2.03. I am nothin special. If you work on it you'll get better and faster as time goes on, also the springs get more broken in making pull easier. I did it with a tiny 12 oz j frame with a heavy double action only trigger. Jerry has inspired me to try my hand at some timed plate racks. Just gotta find a place that allows rapid fire, no ranges near me seem to, so sadly just dry firing at circles on the wall for now 😂
