A day out in the truck talking about all kinds of random stuff! Quite new to this and still very much finding my way around vlogging! Don't judge me yet! I'm also trying out some new toys so sound may be funny at times or even none existant! Videos may also suddenly and randomly end! I have no beginning, I have no end... I just live for the middle bit!
Great vlog 👍🏼 just subscribed 👍🏼
Hi Steve, we hope you are safe and well mate
All good thanks James :-) Thanks for checking in!
Hi Steve good to see you in east leake this morning . Miss the vids. Stay safe Gary.
Ah now I know who you are!
Thanks for saying hello. Maybe one day... but for now I'm in too deep with the music stuff :-) hiring out the gopros too, so whilst they're out and about.. I can't lol good excuse anyway ;-)
@@UkTruckerSteveJane just thought I'd ask! Thankyou for replying Steve. Look out for you in Gypsum. 👍
@@garysmith6756 Haha yeah if you don't ask and all that! I'm in again tomorrow morning at some point. Coalville tonight for me.. once I've loaded and dropped this, park up and done for the day!
@@UkTruckerSteveJane ok I'll look out for you.
Nice tight bays for you to practice your reversing! 🚛🤣
@@garysmith6756 Lol joys of only having one working eye in that place! Makes it harder than it needs to be 😂
Excellent trailer unload Steve and have a good weekend with your family.
Thanks James. Have a great weekend too
Loving these Steve.
Thanks Gary :-)

Brilliant video pal.good to see some unloading.can remember taking them paper rolls down to london with my old fella back in 70s.they were layed on there side with wooden chocks to hold them in place then roped and sheeted.👍
Thanks Brian :-)
I was wondering how they loaded these prior to using the big clamps! Just untie and drive away quickly!
Thank you another great video to watch tonight Take care and stay safe and safe Trucking John W
Thanks John. Hope you enjoy it :-) Hope you are fit and well
Good job buddy 🙌🏻 👍🏻
Cheers :-)
Thank you Steve Told you this morning another great video. Just watched it Great Why is it Some People don't like bring on camera. Must have somethings to hide. Thanks again. Take care and Stay Safe. And safe Trucking. 👍👍👍 thumbs up to you and All HGV Drives John Whitehouse.
Thanks John. I suppose it's a security or personal information thing. Who knows. Most places just want to just unload and get on to the next one. Some are a bit more relaxed and enjoy the little bit of free publicity :-)
Thanks for watching and sticking with me!
New subscriber Steve will have to show my old lad the paper reel tip will bring back memories of his days as a paper store man at Carlisle Web offset
Hi Ian, welcome to the channel. Thanks for your message :-) I bet he has some good memories. I'm sure technology has changed over the years but paper rolls have always been paper rolls! My uncle says the same, he used to work at a mill in Bolton and the rolls always bring back good memories:-)
Cheers
@@UkTruckerSteveJaneThanks for the reply buddy.nice to hear whitehaven getting a mention on your vlog too. I live there now after moving down from Carlisle for work. Charnock Richard services to whitehaven is a decent run. not forgetting the best bit of motorway in the country just after you come in Cumbria where the motorway splits on 2 levels just before Shap ;-)
Hi Steve good ending! 🤣 I like a surprise at end.
Excellent as usual. Just done my 4 x 29 tonne loads out of quarry to Gypsum.
Good to sit down with a beer and see how you make a living. Cheers Gary
Haha thanks Gary. Next week... full video that works and everything!
Just subscribed great videos
Thanks Simon, much appreciated!
Hi Steve I use a paper crab at work

Just found your channel mate great videos. +1 subscription from me
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it. I've stopped for a bit but may start up again next year.. we will see!
@@UkTruckerSteveJane ok mate
Hi Steve.
New subscriber just came across your channel definitely will watch.you had a vid few months back about Manuel entries. Been out of trucking for good few years trying get back. Do you always have make a manuel entry ? If you log out day before. Next day just log in cross hammers do your walk around checks start driving. Reading stuff online seems to be normal doing it every day .But why would need to.last time i used digi tahco was 2013 never ever made manuel entry before that .and never any issues
Hi Niall, thanks for watching!
Manual entries should be completed in certain circumstances. There's all kinds of circumstances that require you to do so. To be honest, in over 20 years of filling paper ones in and using digi cards, I've only ever been spoken to twice about activities not recorded by the authorities. I got into the habit of just doing them so that when I do need to put something in, like a journey in a works vehicle to collect my truck etc, it's second nature to me to be able to do it.
A lot of the time, fear of the unknown prevents drivers from doing these entries. It just covers your back thats all and only takes an extra second or 2 to do it once you've done a few.
Cheers :-)
Hey steve , yes understand that , was driving in Canada for while family didnt settle , the way they do there elogs systems is brilliant so easy to understand , its like a sat nav settings , you log in with your drivers no reg trailer no , press on duty doing off loading etc, press drive when driving , press break when break , press pre trip when doing checks start shift , press post trip doing checks end of day , press bobtailing when driving off duty without trailer ,doesnt go near drivers hours , its a great system ,i wish eu and uk would do the same , that digi tacho such aload of rubish compare to USA and Canada system and its cheaper to install in cab
Hi Steve, great video again just a thought do you travel from Warwick to Coalville or do MTS have a depot where you live ?? Stay safe Dave keep up the good work.
Hi Dave. I travel to Coalville each week. It's about 45 mins each way with the time of day travelled. It's only a there and a back each week so I don't mind it for now.
is M6 south still bad in brum 😂😂😂. that is why i moved to Ireland i am tipping now. keep the good work up Steve looks good.
Always bad.. although Ireland is a long old way to get out of it! I've been around southern Ireland. Love it :-)
Cheers 👍
Hi ya mate,
Hope you're well, blimey that's scary, that you delete all your files once you've done the edit...
I save all mine and the finished edit onto an external hard drive, just incase.
I keep my laptop as empty as possible...
Anyway mate, its was nice to be back on the road with you, as you know I've now been off the road for 3 months...
Stay Safe Buddy...
😷 🚛💨💨 👍
Ps...We did wonder how many times we were going to go around that business park searching for Tesco, what a stupid little sign .🤣😂🤣😂✌
Hello Steve, yeah I keep a week until the next one then they go!
If I need to lose a video.. I'll just delete it.
From my photography days, I had to keep all my files for 5 years. Just gets mental!
Nah, life's too short lol
That tesco! The only thing with Tesco written on it was that sign! Was actually a Stobbart yard that they've acquired. I'm sure things will change and it'll be easier to find 🙊
Thanks for sticking with me 👍look forward to seeing you back on the road soon :-)
How did you strap the rolls? Did you have to launch the straps over? I like the way they were loaded very uniform, great vid mate 👍🏻
Alright Danny!
It's a case of chucking the straps over then using a pole to push the corners under the straps. The corners protect the paper rolls from being damaged by the straps. I can access the bed and just about reach the tops of the rolls to position the straps if I need to. MTS also have a moving ladder if I need to use it. Cheers
Uk Trucker Steve Jane, thanks mate
#thumbsup
Thanks again Richard. Cheers :-)
hope your well steve have you stoped doing vids m8 ??????/
Hey Stu yeah I stopped almost 2 years ago. I've started my own business and needed to put the time into running that. Still driving Monday to Thursday though! Cheers
whens the next vlog Guv
Hi Dave thanks for the message. I stopped doing the videos almost 2 years ago. I've started a small business and now concentrating on that little venture. Cheers!
Where have you disappeared to?
I'm still around. Just a lot going on :-)
Hope you're keeping ok 👌
Did the same paper roll load for an outfit near Ely....nasty folks at the firm as only wanted agency driver for overweight loads as no weighbridge available on site.....anyhow, like many before, will never drive for paper and cardboard firm near Ely....horrible folks and firm.
As long as i live i'll never understand why some people put their ratchetts on the drivers side. If one comes loose your on the road side tightening them up.
True. I put mine on the passenger side usually for that reason. But sometimes.. you just don't have the grit to get the straps over the small gap when there is no ladder available and in that case, after rolling back up for the 3rd and final attempt.. it goes over the other way as there's more room to play with. Rather than a solid wall with a 6" bit to aim for in front of you.
That makes sense..
I've also been strapping stuff down for many years and have learned many lessons. You can only access these rolls from 2 directions as they're all butted up together.
@@UkTruckerSteveJaneFully agree with you Steve. I've been loading reels out of Goole and Carrington for a while now for Board24.
It's just one of them Ian. There's no excuse for not strapping but sometimes.. you just don't have the energy. I was an AA man for a few years so have had to strap cars and vans and even caravans onto recovery trucks with cars flying around at motorway speeds, including trucks passing close by. You can absolutely trust me when I say that I know about the dangers. I really don't like doing it.
Getting older and not always having the oompf to lob them over on the loaded side but I'll always give it my best! Does my head in when I cant and as you'll know.. energy levels soon sap away towards the end of the week 🤣
Thanks for subscribing 👍
@@UkTruckerSteveJane I know exactly how you feel Steve I hate strapping the things myself but you have to.
Your videos are great 👍 on CZcams I just wanted you to know if I can make u thumbnails for your CZcams channel. Plus I have the best price’s. So let me know if you are interested.
