- 14 Minesweeper Variants Part 6 - they don't just lie, they completely lie. This is truly shameless lying. However, there is a different type of logic to the numbers, and it's certainly interesting. I think you'll enjoy it!

yes minesweeper battle two people have small minesweeper boards first to beat a board adds another mine to the other, boards increase in x for the new boards then y for the new boards then repeat for every win if you hit a mine you lose 5:00 timer if nobody loses whoever has a higher score wins. non-mines clicked = +1 point, correctly flagged mines = +2 points, incorrectly flagged cells = -3 points, board completed = +((0.5*boardCells)moduloFloorOrWhateverIdk), if it's a tie it's a tie, also add a ranked mode to fairly battle

Jesus, the Negation rule is mind-bending. It takes an entirely different kind of logic to solve, it hurts my brain... meanwhile the Cross rule is just like regular Minesweeper to me.

I love these videos, even tho it shows how dumb I am as I have no clue how to even begin to understand even when explained to me, to i still think it's amazing to see Tyler's brain at work, simple a beautiful mind
There is just something really entertaining about watching you solve puzzles. You're observant, you catch onto things quickly, and you're good at recognizing when to change gears when needed.
I'll watch every series from you, but I must admit I crave for more Potionomics.

I've seen all these rules in recent sudoku's. It's really smart to look at other puzzles and see if you can improve your own puzzles that way!
Some say Tyler still has a 3 with already 3 mines
Man, that first rule breaks my brain, I can't comprehend the lying negation one.
The key word to keep in mind is "sums". If there's a 0, it's either 0 - 0, or 1 - 1, or 2 - 2. Then with all the other numbers you just tip the scale towards one of the colors so they match the number. Kinda like the "health bar" in Inscryption. If you've dealt 1 damage to your enemy and they deal 1 damage to you, no damage has been taken by anyone.
Except here it's mines in black and white squares.

I think this has some of the most inventive minesweeper rules I've seen. The snake one seemed fun, but the difference one felt absolutely mind breaking, and I think that's the first time I've felt that way about one of these games. The cross one, if anything, seemed tame, since Hex Cells has its area and linear clues.
Regardless, I'm definitely looking forward to more of this series.

I have a Minesweeper version idea, called Twinsweeper, basically, every number has a "twin" just a number that looks similar to it, 1 becomes 7, 2 becomes 5, 3 becomes 8, 4 becomes 0,(dont ask) 6 becomes 9,amd vice versa.
I was just thinking you should collab with cracking the cryptic (especially on baba is you), and then you NAMEDROPPED THEM

Imma be honest I could keep up with the logic of past variants, but with the first one Tyler does, I am so lost
i wish you would change the un-revealed cells color so its easier to tell what hasnt been marked/cleared yet.
and for that matter, not clicking the (completed) number itself to auto-fill out obvious stuff, like clearing zeros pains me a lot.
Imagine showing someone who just beaten minesweeper this, and telling them "Level 2."

Sometimes this gets weird to watch because I use the opposite marking notation he does (I got the lines from him so I started using dots for mines and x for clear)

In 12:30 you said that it is not a mine because there is 7 remaining and you counted 8. But if the bottom right corner wasnt a mine, couldnt it be actually these 7 mines in the shape you drew? Or should the snake touch the corner or something? I mean if it had to, you probably would have put a flag over the bottom right corner already so idk if im just dumb XD. Can someone explain this to me, thanks a lot.

Hey, have you considered playing pokémon emerald rogue at all? I'm not sure how well it would fit your channel but I've been having a ton of fun with it. The gym fights are super hard and you can kind of treat them like a puzzle.
I know there are youtube channels that play Pokemon, but I can't imagine Tyler doing it unless he was sponsored or something. Not to say that he would hate it, just that it seems a bit far removed from the general content of his channel.
@@WanderTheNomad That is totally fair. The emerald rouge rom hack is a totally different beast than any other kind of pokemon content though. It would be really interesting to see him take on the game. It's a bit of a stretch I know.
I've tried a few boards of Negation and it's still incredibly hard to think about. Extremely unintuitive variant.
Once tyler mentioned “stability” and I started thinking about it like that it made a lot more sense to me. Still crazy hard to work out, but it was understandable at least
