- The IJN CA buff is here, and one ship that really didn't need it is the Furutaka. Already monstrous, now it's something more, that dispersion on 203mm AP at T5 is disgusting, yet hilarious. You can find my recommended build at the end as usual.

Furry Taco - turned to Furious Taco after her Aoba C-Hull and was pretty competitive and balanced. With this buff she’s become “Ferocious Taco!”.

well, on SEA server, furrytaco gets uptiered every dan time
If you know how to aim and you have a bb with gun caliber over 400 you can easily kill the furutaka

@@1mol831 But if you have small caliber guns, there's not much you can do. I've abused a ton of BBs with the Furutaka, either by torp sniping them from 10km or yoloing them or both.

Sometimes feel like T5 in pinnacle of IJN ships, atleast if T10 is excluded. Minekaze, Furrytaco, Kongo
Pienimusta Kongo has crap accuracy/armor for a BB and Minekaze was nerfed into the dirt after the torps damage nerf.
@@alphacentary Never had any problems with the accuracy of a fully upgraded Kongo.
Minekaze is nerfed into the abysal plain... she desperately needs some WG love. PLEASE!
I can easily get 100-150k matches with Minekaze, just as always (+2years)
Kongo should really get a buff to her sigma.
But other than that, T10 is also really nice for IJN. Yamato is as good as it always was, Zao is still extremely powerful, and Shimakaze has gotten many nice buffs.

But... Furutaka was always the best, but people chose the DPM instead of a good aim XD
Word. Even OG Furuataka wasn't bad, just took a lot of effort to get good results. It had a lot of very pronounced weaknesses - but those guns, sweet lord, they could be so devastating. And then it got the good plating, and the C hull, and now this...
First time out -with Upgraded guns and Hull C, lost ALL weapons within the first 5 mins. Was bow-on to three ships. Next time out. lost a turret and a torpedo within 2 minutes. Managed to survive. (Co-Op Battles.)

I remember playing the original Furutaka in, it must have been CBT? Such a rough experience coming from Kuma, which was very friendly to play; but this ship actively fought you all the time. I remember using CTRL+X to lock the turrets while dodging during reloads because they were so slow to turn that if you didn't lock them they would end up all over the place and you'd waste even more time waiting for them to catch up again.
Even then, it was never actually a *bad* ship, it still had the biggest cruiser guns at it's tier as well as really nasty torps, and would absolutely reward you if you put in the effort. It just was a *lot* of work to make her go, and not especially comfortable, unlike say, Omaha.
But the Omahas were powercrept while Furutaka was continually buffed, and now look where we are.
Flamu you forget just how much better than the average player you are! You make what I and a lot of others struggle to do look simple.
That C-Hull upgrade is like the Clemson's guns getting doubled :)))
I always loved the Furutaka, even back in the closed beta before it had any buffs. It was the underdog that had some unique tricks up its sleeve. Always happy when it got buffs. But now that it's that strong I feel like its reputation will go down massively and I'm afraid WG will just "fix" this buff by making it squishy like the other cruisers.

i definetely class flamu as the best on the planet in skill, info and predicting peoples game play. myself being newish to the game currently up to this ship and running the ijn crusier line. im using 203 mm guns with 10 km torps and my captain so far is 6 points has priority target, adrenaline rush and just put the demo expert on him, next im thinking of going the concealment expert. hunting for the ZAO on the NA server. nice video as always King Flamu

Haha... I have stopped using Furutaka for awhile now, I didn’t enjoy using it compared to Omaha, I felt like it has less power and taking much time when reloading, but i still kept it in my inventory. Will try to use this again and check out the improvement later.

so after watching the video, I went and brushed the dust off my 'taka and played a couple matches...you were correct :-)
I played sprint in the Murmansk and I struggle so much, had to played from half the map away and still that shit can be citadel from the front, side, top, rear, everywhere, I just got a " Furutaco", upgraded all the way and put my Atago cap on it, a welcome ship.
upgraded the guns , still have single guns , ok , this ship gives me cancer , i can't do anything with it , a destroyer spots me while everyone else just outrange me plebbing me full of lead
Heading through the Japanese cruisers and omg I love all of them... 21% fire I make it freaking burn baby burn

one of the ships that are terrible to a newbie but excellent to come back to enjoy after one has learnt to play.

i found all japanese destroyers to be extremly powerful since beta. the only thing which really hurt them was the introduction of more fast firering enemys, like british cruisers and such. yet they all behave like a mix between pocket battleship and destroyer which makes them so wonderful.
easily the best multipurpose ships, there is no situation you cannot overcome with those ships.

I sold my Furutaka way back when it was an absolute heap of garbage. Now I want it back.
That was second Furutaka buff what i know. I played it back in days before all that and even then it was deadly ship.
Considering it sees tier 7s so often, I think its warranted imo.
Just curious does anyone recommend the yubari?
If i recall correct, only 2 double barrel turrets, good acuracy. Poor armor, low HP.
Jingles or Flamu burned it down to the ground.
Which is a shame because it has a good and rich history She would be better as a DD imo

The Myoukou at tier 7 is also now somewhat of a monster imo. The guns feel so very comfortable now with her turret traverse buffed in addition to the accuracy.

@@NateRiver7109 Yes, the guns were upgraded, not ships.
@@NateRiver7109 The buff affects the guns of 203mm for the JAPANESE. The buff which is locked to the guns is the Accuracy buff, while some ships like Ibuki and Myoukou received Reload and turret traverse buff respectively. The Atago, in this case, since she has the 203mm guns like all Japanese heavy cruisers, her guns are much more accurate. (It still complies with WGs promise of no buffing premiums since this is a gun buff for all ships of the same tree)
Ok but does it affect derivative ships like the Southern and Eastern dragons(Myoko based)? i do like my Southern Dragon but the turret traverse has been an issue that is hard to get by...
All Japanese 203mm accuracy has been buffed, and Myoko turret traverse. Including Myoko derivatives. Flamu used the Southern Dragon last night in his stream.
Furry Taco totally needs heal.

just unlocked this ship days before upgrade and instantly recognized the power of 203s at T5. good to know about the armor scheme, this thing is not really a t5 cruiser its like bringing a t8 with some drawbacks.

I've been loving my furu since I picked her up around mid-Nov. I actually have a positive winrate and I feel like I have an impact in games. Also is a great CA to learn how to bounce shells and mitigate damage. I have to say though, playing Aoba doesn't feel the same. My shells go EVERYWHERE compared to my furrytaco. It's driving me nuts!
Yeah, and the torps are much worse. You get minimal buffs but start facing tier 8s.

I distinctly remember getting HE citadels on Furutakas with the Queen Elizabeth and the King George V. I know you're saying the ship is tanky, I'm just saying I can't say that I've seen it. unless they've changed the armor since I last played Queen Lizzie (which admittedly was some months ago)
Was 2nd lowest w/r at t6 cruiser, so yes it needed a buff.
Ah, the FurryTaco, one of my favorite ships ever. I got her since the beta version, when she only had the B hull. Even though I was a noob back then and onlyy had a couple of great matches, I still love her. She is the reason I wanna stay with the IJN cruisers
The Infidel oh no you're wrong. It's true that at that time she was very fragile. But the long reload of her guns forced me out of just spamming HE like an idiot in binocular view all the time, a big wake up call when I went up from Kuma. Instead I had the time to zoom out and have better control of the battle and myself. In the latest 20 battles, the worst one that I had was a defeat where I was in 6th position, sinking a Nagato all by myself
Furutaka was the last good IJN cruiser till you hit T10 imo. Going from Furutaka to Aoba just felt like a massive downgrade. Myoko and Mogami were no different.
I waited for the IJN buff, free xp’ed through the tiers to a fully upgraded taco, and though...oh wow, this ship is really good lol.

Struggled in the ranked in my GC... It was untill i changed to Furutaka. I believe i won 7 out of 8 before ranking out? I didn't do much damage, but was a nice harassing and spotting cruiser on the flank.
t5 cruisers needed buffs this is just the first
high burst -low sustained damage in any game is usually the most fun to play imo

the last time i played this ship was back then when there where only 2 cruiser lines...... seems a lot has changed since then. i don´t even know if it had those 203mm gund and double barrels back then, i know i didn´t and i hated every game i played with those single guns with 30 sec reload

Well, that is IF she gets other t5 cruisers to overmatch. If uptiered, which for the tier is almost every game, i'll choose more 150 mms for more fires. But I agree for the rare games when my Furutaka gets t5s to feast... oh boy the accuracy buff can be excessive.

Problem with that final BB you torped is even if your team mates knew to hit the nose (which it's entirely possible they didn't) they dispersion on BBs at those tiers can be so bad they might hit everything but the nose, or nothing at all.
Otherwise, yes, as usual one has to wonder how well WG thought through that dispersion buff when it comes to Furrytaco.
The worst experience has to be the old stock pensacola. Less gun range than concealment, paper armor and 50+ seconds turret traverse on guns that has some of the least DPM in its tier. The whole ship just didn't make any sense.
Its good when it doesn't get up-tiered. Unfortunately at t5 that's 3/4 of the matches you play

honestly it was ridiculous before trying to hit dds, roll bad and shells go under and over, then you gotta wait for 12s reload while he nails you.

Stats indicate that Furutaka is generally a worse ship than average for tier 5. Do you have any tips for players? And why AP for the whole match?
Did you not see how many citadel hits he got? 203mm AP can also citadel battleships, so why wouldn't you use AP? You would only ever use HE against angled BBs or against DDs.
Another case where HE would probably be better is against T7 BBs, but that's it
Furutaka is the only T5 cruiser with 203mm guns. So she can overmatch the bow armour of all cruisers in her tier and even citadel some bow on cruisers

Stats are lower for two reasons: T5 is full of idiots who broadside and therefore die. The longer reload doesn't help them to do damage when they can't aim.
Second reason is that the Furutaka has a massive shift in playstyle from the Kuma, which none of the other T5 cruisers experience. T5 is also no longer protected matchmaking, so when new players are shoved into a new experience and are suddenly fighting T7 ships, they have no idea what to do and perform even worse
Compare to other tier 5 Cruiser, yep she doesn't need a buff. But...... considering she pretty much meeting monster at tier 6 and 7? Yeah. ;)

I got super-unicum WR (83%) and PR (2906) while levelling through the Furrytaco back in its single turret days and I was terrible then- I'm pretty bad now after 2k games and that was after about 200. Sure that's only 12 games but with mostly similar(ish) games at T4-6 I've only got better stats in the New Mex and worse in 34 other ships. I don't think it needed the last buff, let alone this one.
tbf I did citadeled low tier BBs with low tier DD HE shells before :P

The old Furutaka was the worst ship I ever played (back when the game was still in beta version). And I swore, that I never buy that ship again. But I am kinda curious of that new buff...maybe I should give it a try?

ALL of the ships I now own, as well as ALL ships I'll own in the future(whichever they may be) ALL need to be heavily buffed! To Wargaming: Just look at my port now, and then look in on it every few days, then simply BUFF every ship you see there! That seems fair and reasonable to me.....
