    As much as people rag on the Tundra, my fathers 2016 with 85K miles with constant hauling has held up incredibly. Longest lasting trucks on the road.

    I believe the Platinum would have the puddle lights on the side mirrors. Worth mentioning the 1794 is very close to Platinum except a different color scheme interior.

  • @chrisgleeton6823
    @chrisgleeton6823 Před 3 lety +17

    You forgot power fold-away mirrors on the Platinum, which the Limited doesn't have. the switch is by the mirror controls to the left of the steering wheel.

      That is a difference, I noticed the same thing b/c I was looking specifically for that pwr folding button which was not on the limited. Makes a big difference in the car wash, tight parking situations.

    I think the biggest difference is the Platinum doesn't come with a double cab, so no 6'5" bed. Which sucks because I would also prefer the aesthetic of the Platinum and the cooled seats, but I need the larger bed.

    I got the 2021 Platinum primarily because of the front end and the interior was nicer, just in my opinion. Bought it from the same dealership and love it

    Mirrors identical?? come on, platinum has power folding mirrors, not break away. That is very important to some in tight spots which ANY review should include

  • @ejesoriginal
    @ejesoriginal Před 3 lety +10

    Seems to me that because I wanted both ventilated seats and the TRD package, I had no option but to get the 1794. The Platinum doesn't come with the TRD Package and the Limited didn't have the ventilated seats. Not a big chrome fan, but after a year, I am very happy with the 1794 regardless. Plus I got a heck of a deal on black Friday last year. No regrets.

    @gweggslist4460 Před rokem +1

    As others have stated, only the Platinum and 1794 models have power folding mirrors. Why this feature was not added to at least the Limited trim is mind boggling. These trucks are wide and not everyone has 8 foot wide garage doors. I currently own a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT that has more features than the 2021 Tundra Limited. I've wanted to buy a Tundra for years dating back to 2010 but not offering a 6.5 ft bed in the crew max, decent under rear seat storage and power folding mirrors have been my hang ups. Apparently Toyota still doesn't think the 2022+ SR5 Premium or Limited package needs this feature but at least now you can get a 6.5 ft bed in a crew max and rear doors that are not crazy oversized. Guess I'll continue to drive my old truck until I can save up another $20,000 to get folding mirrors.

  • @adamsm22
    @adamsm22 Před 3 lety

    Had to watch for 12 minutes to find out no mention of the big differences (mentioned below), cab and bed options. I really like Toyota, but some of the option packages are driving me crazy. Would like the TRD stuff (Billstein shocks) and the other nice things, but then everything from colors to beds to cabs is limited. Some of it has to do with the frame (wheel base), but some of it makes no sense at all. I feel like I am going to drop $50K and immediately have buyer's remorse because I guessed wrong on the option packages.

    Too bad he didn't road-test these. The Platinum is noticeably louder than the Limited--- just as loud as a TRD Pro, actually. The stitching on the front seats look and feel a little cheap for the extra $, the "AC seats" are barely noticeable even at full-blast, and the honeycomb grill is just plastic. I'll take a quieter, practical, functional and chrome-grilled Limited any day.
