At this point Vivi is keepin the Sly Cooper alive series alive 🤣
After reading the comics and the novel I always figured that Mcsweeny felt saddened and possibly even guilty for Conner dying and not being able to save his best friend the way he probably had so many times so hearing someone else feel the same way makes me happy cause I thought maybe I was thinking too deep about it
McSweeney felt that he had nothing else to live for in the free world and ended up turning himself in to authorities. He may have felt that it was his fault for not being there for Connor Cooper when he was attacked and killed by the fiendish five.
Um how do you find the comics and novel?

come to think it, McSweeny is what Murray was going through guilt.
He probably felt saddened about Conner's death and Dr. M's betrayal so he turned himself in. A lot like how Murray felt about Bentley getting injured.

Yeah and McSweeney felt sad about losing Connor that he decided to turn himself into jail
Ironic that both McSweeny and Murray (The muscles of the gang) go through a depression phase because something horrible happened to their best friend/teammate and they felt like they could've done more to prevent it!!

It really is a shame we never saw McSweeney in an actual in-game cutscene in Sly 3 at all. Kind of a missed opportunity if you ask me. I wonder who would’ve voiced him.

Next game should let us play as Connor in a flashback, giving us a perspective on how he ran his gang and then switch back to Sly to see how different he is, from father.
Or explain how one walks on lasers :P

I imagine a different scenario:
-As we know, Dr M began to grow jealous of Conner getting all the credit and storing all of the loot in the Cooper Vault, something I bet was kept secret even from them. Dr M must have met McSweeny at some point in order to get the location of the map and in that interaction, he must have been able to convince McSweeny to join his side, or at the very least, convince the man that he wasn't evil and wanted to make amends. Let's assume Conner tried to keep at least one of his friendships intact and told McSweeny where he was hiding and told him he could visit anytime, so McSweeny told Dr M where Conner was. Dr M may have hated Sly, but he wasn't stupid. He probably knew that at the time, he was incapable of defeating Conner one-on-one, so he decided to reveal its location to the Fiendish Five for he knew about Clockwerk existence. McSweeny must have felt guilty when he heard Conner's death, feeling like he was the one who killed him, so he decided to stay in prison, to pay for his crimes.

Some guys have thought of doing a sly 4 story themselves called deceit of thieves, and it sounded amazing, with them taking their story starting from the fact of McSweeney appearing out of the blue to kidnap Carmalita. I agree the next sly game MUST start with McSweeney somehow. Definitely explore a storyline about sly's FATHER'S gang. So for it. To rewrite the farce Theives in time sadly ended up being. Wasn't bad but definitely was NOT great.
Thieves in Time was good gameplay-wise, but the Story - while interesting - was weirdly executed multiple times.
They can definetly work of the game's Ending, and I honestly could see them use McSweeney as a part of the same Story too (basically when they finally bring Sly back, McSweeney shows up or something like that).

@@Xnansui3770 What do you mean a scam? I recall it was presented as a concept or something that the people behind it couldn't get off the ground. I think we should at least appreciate the bravery it takes to construct an idea and put it out there like that. McSweeney can't really be "ruined" as a character either since we know barely any defining characteristics about him and he's just used as a plot device. At least the guys who wrote that concept were smart enough to think of an idea to develop his character passed the point of just being a guy who gives Sly some type of hidden knowledge.
@@Xnansui3770 Yeah, I’ve heard about it. I wouldn’t trust that guy and take his word for whatever he’s said. He’s not reliable. He’s pretty notorious in the community as a trouble maker and was accused along with some other people he knows of saying slurs on Twitter and making indecent remarks and statements against other Sly Cooper members within the community who have differing views and opinions. I don’t understand how drama can flare up based on a pitch for a fan game, so I’m assuming there’s more behind the scenes, but yeah.

If we ever got sly 5 Carmelita goes to his prison and ask about his where about and he stays muted until Bentley and Murray shows up then he spills it that would be really cool to see

That disc for Sly 3 on ps2 still gives me chills. McSweeney trying to strangle sly just to prove himself. That’s why it’s still worth keeping the original versions as opposed to the PS3 HD versions which are decent at best in my eyes.
Got me on the thumbnail thought it'd be about him jumping in then wormhole but great video as always Vivi. That is also a pretty cool idea using McSweeney in hopefully the next game would be pretty interesting to see his abilities and would be cool to see him and Murray work side by side. Would be pretty cool if some how sly is rescued and him, Murray, and Bentley end up in a point in time where Conner's Cooper gang are in their heyday and some how pull a heist with Dr.M and Conner and McSweeney.
So in other words, McSweeney would get pulled into the whole time travel thing with our gang in the present?
@@VtnVivi Ya like Bentley or Murray meet up with him or something or maybe even he knows Carmelita has always been hot on his tale and one day she's in his prison or he requests to talk to her. I really don't know just awesome being able to have and share all these thoughts with a community and to see other ideas. Just got to keep praying every night for a sly 5. 😂

If Sly's 21 in the third game, how old was he in the first? When meeting thew Panda King in the third game, Sly's line is "Years have passed and we've both changed". Panda King was an arsonist and a murderer. How many years did he get in prison for that, only to be released back into China? Even with good behavior, his crimes weren't small
i HAVE THIS NOVEL xd I remember when i saw it and begged my mom to get it from Scholastic.
But here's my theory: Despite the original gang splitting the payout on their biggest heist, (in this case I'm going to assume that massive diamond Conner stole referenced in the fourth game) I think Dr. M wanted to betray him before Conner died... he was so filled with anger and jealousy. maybe not kill him but definitely find the vault. I think Mcsweeny saw that decline in Dr. M and just, didnt warn Conner... I think Dr. M needed Connor alive to find the vault, and when he died, he knew Mcsweeny would know where it is. Jail was the safest place

Like what we already do best regarding Sly, we’re not expecting Sly 5 to be announced and all hope that Sly returns in any shape or form including a tv show and remake collection. We all know that Sly has been dormant long enough and we all had enough of Sly Cooper for the last 10 years!

Impresive video. As a kid I thought that Mcsweeny was arrested for started a bar brwal, and killed an opponent during a fight and convicted to a manslaughter. His design look like a retire bike gang leader, cuz he has many tattoo.

I don't think Dr. M would go after McSweeny. All Dr. M cared about was the vault and he already found it by the time McSweeny told Sly about it. The only thing to gain from him was the map to the vault and Dr. M clearly didn't need it. Besides, Dr. M's problems in the Cooper Gang were only with Connor, according to his dialogue. I don't think he had any grudges against McSweeny

He's briefly shown and mentioned in 3. Mainly appeared in comic #2.

You want to know why McSweeney was staying so long in prison it's because of one yes guilt and two it's because he was Recidivism.
He was stuck in prison for so long that he just got used to it.
Unrelated to the topic but the more I think of it, Sly's mom must have been NC with her family or have no surviving family members alive since Sly was send to the orphanage instead of put under a custody of his mother's side of the family members. Which wouldn't be no surprise why they wouldn't take in a child who's dad was a world class criminal, if they ever even were still alive and knew about it before that night happen. It must have been on the news too.

I could see Bentley and the others going to him for help as he knows where Sly's father hid the only ancient egyptian artifact from the time period Sly is in that wasn't taken by Penelope while enacting her own plans. However McSweeny says the place its hidden in can't be opened without him, which leads to the Cooper gang performing a jail break.

Ok um... I never read the comic. But in the future I will look forward to take a look at them ( or at least buy all if them) to get to know the prequel of both games. I'll say McSweeny fight a good fight for the gang. Sometimes criminals needs to turn themselves in for the greater good because of the wrong doing that they have done. It's hard to feel that you are responsible for someone death but it's not your fault at first. McSweeny have a big heart like Murray. If Murray was under McSweeny shoes, he would have done the same to protect and take some time to think about the crimes he did with the gang and start a new life after. To me McSweeny is a good man. He was doing this for the greater good for his friends and family. (If he does have a family that we don't know.)
If the next game were to ever come out, if like to see McSweeney make an appearance

My original guess was because the original Cooper gang broke up and he wanted to retire.
Even if so, why not retire elsewhere, why jail out of all places? That's what makes us curious.
@@VtnVivi well let's see the guy lost his friend, his brains team betrayed them and since doc M was not after McSweeney he respect his choice to leave and retire much so he'd let him live his days in jail and McSweeney not knowing what was going to to happen. He packed brains and brawn but not enough to go toe to toe. Much to this McSweeney was arrested after hearing his friend died while serving time. Watch freak the mighty as a kid is taken in at grandparents custody as he meets a smart cripple who was son of both thier moms who were friends and dads had different stories one magician and other biker gang and big guy unintentionally reunion with broken up crew just those parts. It stars Henry Dean Stanton.

Hey vivi I was looking at some artwork of Tennessee kid cooper I came across this picture that really made me think of something someone had made a fanart of a fox that was wearing a sheriff's outfit it had the same hair color Carmelita and they were holding a wanted poster of Tennessee kid Cooper do you think it's possible that Carmelita's ancestors migth have tried chasing the Coopers in the past I mean as far as we know Carmelita is a fourth-generation cop but we don't know everything about her ancestors they could have been in law enforcement in the past it's too bad Carmelita's family doesn't have their own book talking about their Adventures and the things they've seen while in law enforcement
We just don't know how far back Carmelita's cop ancestors go back to :O I also always think back to Tenessee's remark to Carmelita, how she reminded him of someone.

After the attack mcsweeney feels guilt after being late but noticed young sly hiding in the closet and i imagine mcsweeney or uncle mcsweeney as young sly would call him had a bit of a bonding moment before conor death
Mcsweeney then realized with the crime coming down on him and without connor he would be in deep trouble along with sly. So Mcsweeney would take sly and connor cane to help calm the young sly down
They would flee the county and mcsweeney drops him off at the orphanage knowing connor would want sly to have a good life and to protect sly from dr M and keep sly safe. After dropping sly off returns back to paris and turn himself in
And maybe in the 3rd game events mcsweeney fears that sly would run into with dr M sooner or later and was approached by carmelita fox and mcsweeney would tell her everything about cane island and the threat dr M is to sly and himself
Interesting thoughts! Your last point certainly makes one think! I recall Carmelita having the map to Kaine island before Sly snatched it from her office, that could potentially explain how Carmelita even knew of the Island.

Really not liking the rebrand it looks less like a youtube channel and more like a store or fast food restaurant, almost soulless like a mascot for a corporate company or something I miss the old VV also I still doubt sly 5 at this point I mean who would even make it? the studio who made sly 4 got brought out they wanted to continue the story with a DLC but couldn't due to the games poor sales and let's not forget the rumours about a new game possibly being in the works which you know didn't happen maybe the game got put on hold? who knows, as for the show, well, I'm pretty sure that got cancelled

I always looked at it as a family with multiple siblings. One of them decided to continue the legacy sort of thing.. if I understand your question correctly?
