    This applies to the Tenor Flute as well (used to be called Bass Flute) but it'll come out an Octave down cause it's just twice the length. There are versions w/ a Low B foot joint which have a Gizmo key to improve the intonation. I even saw a Flute w/ a Low B flat foot joint & another one w/ a Low G foot.

      I replied to your last comment, but one more thing you should check is that your right hand ring finger isn't accidentally moving and touching another key (like the trill key) when you are trying to play this low C. Does that help?
      My previous reply says: "Yes, that low C is definitely a tricky one! I don't suggest bothering worrying about it until you're more advanced than a new beginner. How come when I play the low c, the c is higher than yours? Is it because my head joint is shorter, because I blow warm slow air and yet the note isn't low like yours.

    • @LearnFluteOnline
      @LearnFluteOnline  Před 8 lety

      +Bubblezishere Try keeping your head joint nice and level instead of tipped - I'm guessing you are catching your air stream on the edge way too much and so it's coming out an octave higher. Keep your body straight and your head joint level... it'll help a ton. Good luck! Rebecca

      Hi Kyera - no worries. Your flute has a C foot, which is just fine (and normal). You need to move your pinky over to the Db key (rectangular key) and then press the roller bar as well. BOTH at the same time. This will give you the low C you're looking for (along with the other fingerings). -Good luck! Rebecca

    • @LearnFluteOnline
      @LearnFluteOnline  Před 5 lety

      ’m sorry you were having troubles with your notes. You can check two things: 1. The key next to your C key (left hand first finger) should be going down at the same time you press the C key. If it isn’t, then you probably have popped a spring. And 2. Is it possible that you are just super out of tune? It’s really common to be really sharp in pitch when you are kind of new. Try pulling your head joint out about a half an inch and see if this sounds better. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. :) ~Rebecca

    These high c fingering are not totally correct in my oppinion. For flutes with a low c footjoint, the low c keys are supposed to be down too 123 pinky 1 low c. For a low b foot with gizmo it should be 123 pinky 123 gizmo. The gizmo key does nothing unless the right hand 123 are down as well. It helps lower the pitch....
