I was legit about to give up all hope and quit band but then I came across his lessons and I did everything correctly within 3 try’s. He is a great teacher
My parents don't believe I can do it. They think it is a waste of money especially since I also play clarinet, oboe, saxophone, piano and guitar. So they won't give me lessons. again and again and it folds again, now only the regular exercise is
missing as you always say :D
If you've checked everything and it's still not working, press your fingers down as hard as you can and blow because if the slightest bit of air can cause a problem. :)
Wow, I'm pretty intermediate at flute but was really struggling with D and _Eb_ , but just after watching this video I can play them easily

This is useful video that can help me recall basic flute playing.
I can't figure this out! When I'm blowing into just the head joint, my embouchure sounds fine, but whenever I add the rest of the flute, the only sound it makes is the sound of air going into the flute! Help! I've tried directing my air differently and everything.

i'm a bassoonist, and im here with my new flute xD.
kinda hard to play a note when half your lip is swollen cx. gotta try sometime more
used to play flute in sixth grade and liked it but didn't keep going. freshman in high school now and wish I stuck with it, I love playing instruments :)
So I'm at a bit of a loss here. I only started recently and so far, your lessons have been super helpful.
But for some reason, I can't get the D working. I can get a nice, clear sound out of it when pressing all the home keys safe for the pinkies, but as soon as I let go of the first one, it's just air. Any advice on that?

You also need to check the tuning... Pull the head joint out/in a bit and see if it helps

I have been playing 3rd octave D the same as 2nd octave for 8 years and I just found out when I recently changed schools that it's actually different. I took out a tuner and they sound almost identical. Do you think it's ok for me to play it like 2nd octave D since it is easier for me? I tried changing over but it's really confusing me! Please reply!!!

Im followed your instruction and play it, but i found the difference. You can make pitch D, but with the same fingering I make pitch Eb.

I'm from brazil and my flute has just two circle keys in the last piece . I can play other notes but not this one . Might the problem be with my flute or with the kind of flute ?

I played flute for one year which was last year I remember some things but not a lot I need help with time signature does b(flat) count as 2 counts instead of 4 counts since b(flat) lowers the pitch of a note ? I'm kinda confused 😔

I had band but I quit I was pretty good but I had to give my flute back but I got a flute for Christmas so I hav been trying to learn again but I always get light headed..
woaaa ! MP ! Got my flute today. Fingering is ok. But couldn't produce a stable sound. For some reason i was trying the lowest notes first and was usually in overtone (i think it the right word). The D is much easier, but with the MP ? Pfffffft easy :D ! I have a question : can a dirt cheap flute (140€, brand new from factory) be a disadvantage to produce good note or is it just poor quality that will break in a few month ?
Also, had to cut my moustach :D (that's some level of dedication, right ?)

Hi so I am new I got a flute today and at 2:37 when on the fingering chart it said to press that one button at the bottom it makes it lower but when i put my thumb up for it then it sounded like the note you played

Why am I even here I have a test tomorrow I don't even have a flute
I am in fifth grade and in fifth and six grade, we get a choice of band or orchestra. I picked the flute in band but I can't make a sound yet even though my band teacher says I can watch your video to start my first note. I don't know if this is the problem, but noticed that your flute has holes on the keys. Does that really matter?
Can you you please help, I checked everything but no matter how hard I try I can't play D or Eb but I can play Bb, C and F. By the way, can you please make more lessons? I've only played for 2 weeks with one lesson.
My D note keeps shooting up too high and no matter how many times I check everything, it still does the same thing. I've played the trumpet for 5 years but I've always wanted to learn to play flute. i'm playing on a really old flute my grandpa found in the trash (in a case) but it was super tarnished and metallic smelling. I cleaned the outside with a polishing cloth but i couldn't get the inside. I can make a sound like yours with the mouth piece alone but when I try to play a d or anything else it sounds really "woody" (is that only a sax term lol?) and not clear at all. I am wondering if it improves the sound of the flute if I try to clean the inside or if there could be a problem with my pads? I sat here trying to made the D sound loud and clear for an hour with no luck and I don't know if it's me or this old flute. :S

I got a question. I've been practicing but I can only make sound out of B flat. I try switching from B flat to any other note (my class is up to F). I've been staying in for my outside time and I really want to be out with my friends so I really want to learn. My music teacher sent me a few tutoring places and my parents signed up for one but they keep canceling on us because they are high school students. Any suggestions?
wow, I can get other notes on the flute, but as soon as I stop pressing the left hand pinkie key the sound just stop coming

you dont press the circle part. press the long skinny part right next to it :)
im having trouble making noise with this note. i can play a few other notes but this one just comes out too high or not at all. any tips? i cant figure out why i cant make this note work.
