- In this vlog, we bring you along with us and our Advent Fellowship Family to the Fellowship's Annual Hike to Blue Mountain Peak.
Our hikes are not like regular hikes, lol. And you'll see that in the video.
Advent Fellowship is a Seventh-Day-Adventist Society on the campuses of The University of the West Indies and The University of Technology, Jamaica.
For over 50 years, the fellowship has been a home away from home, for students who want a space to foster spiritual growth, develop the power to witness, gain intellectual skills; social and physical fitness.
We both have been blessed to be a part of this fellowship during our University days and our lives haven't been the same since.

Who else sees the parallels of this hike with marriage? As newlyweds, couples often start that exhilarating journey optimistic and starry-eyed, then as the years roll on malaise can set in, and someone can become disillusioned, tired, or bored; like Zahra, you may even feel like quitting, but look what happens with a supportive partner who isn't willing to quit or let the other quit - you both achieve the peak together; posterity will be yours.
🥂 As you celebrate your 6th-month anniversary, I hope you will have another 60 together. I look forward to you guys sharing new memories with your expanding family in tow in future anniversaries. Thanks for taking us along. I never went to Blue Mountain Peak-- when I was at college and got invited, I always passed because I heard it was freezing, and I really used to hate being cold.
Seeing this, I regret not having that experience now, but it's lovely to have been able to experience it vicariously through you and your lively bunch of fellow pilgrims. The object lessons are strident reminders that we need to develop grit, especially for those of us who have been on the Christian trail now for a while and feel like - as Zahra said, we dead and we buss and want tap a road, but as Xaundre reminded us /his wife, the destination is just 10 minutes away. We are nearing home, folks. Let us not grow weary. The darkest hour is just before dawn. Blessings.🥂

Honestly , just to be there with everybody was so thrilling. It made us feel safe and relieved. Young people are still connected, they still desire holy things and want to be in an environment that promotes holiness. Chills maayne

In 2021, I went on the hike just once. And I promise myself never to do that again, but more significantly, I make a reference to my Christian journey, saying that even though some roads are hard and some have difficulties, if you persevere to the finish, a lovely scene is waiting for you.
That’s so true! The journey is challenging but the destination will be worth it!

Hey XyZ fam! It was an awesome experience on the blue mountain hike! Nuff time I wanted to throw in the towel. Unlike zhara lol I also walked from Mavis bank...it is not for weak🥴 Let me say this though these lovely people are just as wonderful and fun in person! I was so excited be apart of the experience. (I'm the one cheering the shouts...aka the loud one🤣). Nevertheless it was an unforgettable experience especially since I got to be the with XyZ fam! Thank you guys for always showing how fun Christianity can be. In everything we rise with Jesus!! Even when our shoulders are hurting, our back aches and our legs have left the chat🥲. It was indeed an all rounded spiritual experience. Love y'all 💕💕

The highest mountain peak in the Caribbean is located in the Dominican Republic. Pico Duarta is 10,417 feet high, 3, 175m. Jamaica has the sixth highest mountain peak in the Caribbean.

This has brought back so much memories of when I visited Blue Mountain in college with UCCF. The journey has many spiritual, life and object lessons. Thank you both for taking me back on this journey again.

The hiking is and was an experience for me. I didn't go to the peak because of reasons but I did enjoy the blue mountain trail. God is good and as an adventist. .. we need to do more of these types of hiking.

Zhara you go girl loved the rover ride, it's everythinggg....beneath the night stars 😊from mavis bank via the rover we reached the foot of jacobs ladder at 12am on my hike back in august . It's a struggle, quite like our christian walk, esp. with jacobs ladder being sooo steep, but a rewarding and eternal view when you reach the mountain peak. Thanks for this different kind of experience of the hike I enjoyed the worship and object lessons. God bless❤

Blue Mountain is definitely a birthing experience painful, tiring, miserable but once you're at the peak... Bliss, Euphoria. I believe its an experience everyone should have at least once.

So nostalgic. Thanks for sharing. I did several hikes with Adfel...even one time, the driver got lost trying to find a shorter start and we ended up at New Castle..lol..we drove and drove until we ended back into Kingston. I loved that as a group, we were so determined to do the hike that we journeyed back to Mavis Bank and started hiking at 2am Sunday morning and walked to the peak all the way. Translation our spiritual life may take us on different journeys and challenges but never give up, God is able to make the impossible possible. Adfel always holds a special place in my heart.
