Don't know why this song doesn't get more radio play today even, underrated big time
the 80's vs today....no contest . 80's hands down the best of everything
70s and 90s music are superior to the 80s.
@@Argeaux2 ~ LOL!!! Not even.
ooooh no u didn't @@Argeaux2
@Argeaux2 70s were great. 90s music, if you can call it that, was garbage. How do you even compare the two? The regular top 40 music from the 70s made use of the pentatonic minor, major, minor triads, Aeolian, and Dorian modes, excellent rhythm playing. The 90s had garbage grunge, no guitar solos, garbage d tuned guitars, and horrible singing. How can anyone possibly compare the two eras??
@dumpsterbaby3155 Frida I Know There’s Something Going On is one of my favorite song

I heard this on Scream Queens on Hulu the other night. Man it brought back so many memories of my adolescent years in the 80s. What a time to be alive! ❤
I know there’s something in the air tonight. When things fall apart, things come together. QED
No decade will ever top the 80's!!!
Best music Videos, best horror films, and some of the best Comedy Films ever! 😮
Seventies was the best
Never
the 70's actually did
🙌👍💯!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frida of ABBA! 🖤 In case you weren't aware, the song is about her divorce with Benny Anderson and is a continuation of Phil Collin's - "In The Air Tonight" (which was about also about Phil's divorce)
This is why Frida asked Phil to produce the album. She connected with him in this way. It's also why the drums sound like a continuation of "In The Air Tonight."
Try playing "In The Air Tonight" and immediately after play "There's Something Going On." It'll all make sense musically and lyrically.
Just spreading some music history for everyone to enjoy. ✨
Just was wondering if Agnetha from ABBA also had a solo music career after ABBA ? Does anyone know?
The guitar sounds like Planet P.
@@robertbrantley8222Props for remembering Planet P 👍
THANK YOU for verifying what I wrote about this 3 years ago. This IS about her breakup with her husband.
Its Phil on the drums and backing vocals...
Summer of 83. I can’t believe this was over 40 years ago.
I wrote lyrics for an ABBA song. I have the melodies they can use, or they can create their own. This song can close all of their shows and give a sendoff to all of their fans. I'd love a chance to share it with ABBA.
Still love this song April 2024

June 2024!
I am listening to this and going through my old high school pictures. I miss the 80’s. 😢
same. we were the lucky ones
The last generation to live with what America used to be.
80s rocked.
I graduated in 82. I feel you.
Nostalgia is such sweet sadness🥲
The 80s was great. And we watched Halley's Comet go by. 🎸☄️
Heard this song in the background at a local Walmart and it was like an old world calling out. A world I can't physically return to but I swear sometimes I can almost reach out and touch
Sometimes I get a whiff of it. Like you can literally smell the 80s sometimes. And your transported back but just for a second.
I've had this feeling before, but you have brought it under words magnificently!
Maybe someday we can go through, like in the “take on me” video!
I just heard this song on Sirus.
It's been years.
There must be a portal somewhere to the magical 80s. Some kind of hot tub time machine.
I'd heard this song for years and never knew it was Frida from ABBA and Phil Collins! I'm floored from this...what a collaboration!
You and me both ! I figured Phil Collins was the drummer but had no idea who she was.
Ya me to heard this song much, didn't know it was our frida
Better late than never. 😊
I never knew that, about Phil Collins, thank you.did you know Eddie van Halen did the guitar on Micheal Jackson,s "beat it?"
@@kevinknight9950 yes, everybody knows that.

I haven't heard this song in over 40 years
Damn no idea ABBA alumn made this jam until today! I grew up in the 80's so out of touch :( Thanks to @ProfessorofRock for repping the ABBA members solo careers and droppin a nugget that brought me here! Hi Frida! Another nugget i might add is the B's helped make 1 night in Bangkok! :)
Some movie producer needs to put this in a modern day big screen block buster film, I'm willing to bet it would be a hit all over again.
agreedddd😭
I really want to do that with a friend one day.
This song would have been killer in the Miami vice TV series back in the day
Look up Scream Queens Something Going On
I love this song and Frida looked her absolute best during this period the clothes and haircut complemented her well ❤
2023! Classic song.
It’s 2024 and there’s something going on
Anni-Frid was so gorgeous back in the day!
She is the chick from ABBA
@@badmonkey2222 No shit, Sherlock.
Anyone else is going through all their favorite jams thinking about how life was back in the days ? Tell me I'm not the only one ✌🏼️
youre not the only one..
57 and still rocking out to this song :)
We know there's something going on..
Yes.. what an era. I take pride as an 80s child
It's a neverending source of nostalgia.
Awesomeness from my military daze of the '80s
I heard this a couple of days ago at fred myers while doing a instacart order. I quickly typed in something is going on on google snd saved the song on bookmark
And now listening to this while drinking tonight 4-8-2024 10:30pm
Who can believe almost 40 years. Still a fantastic song from beautiful Frida.
You are right .greetings from Spain
Has it been that long?
I loved this song from the first time I heard it back in the day. And in their huge anthology book I found out that Phil Collins did the drums which is why it has that iconic singnature sound to them.

I listen this song in 2024 April love Fida❤
I remember I was listening this song while "being thrown out with the trash" at the age of 11, sent to boarding school against my will. I'll never forget she tried to buy me off with a green bike. I hated that place. Thx Mom..
Anyways, Frida was spectacular good looking back then in '81.
❤
Never knew this was Frida from Abba until today!
who cares?
Me too
Phil Collin's on drums !
OMG that's pathetic
@@kathleenkishkabibbles2759 that’s not very nice?
Great song and Phill Collins killing it on the drums.
Great memory a strong performance by Frida, as for the drumming class from Phil Collins 🥁👍.
Plus, Phil Collins produced the whole album 👍
Still awesome in 2021.
The whole instrumental track is magnificent.
@@aarongordon5527 ... and 2022.

one of my favorite songs from the beloved 80´s
I remember when this song peaked at #13 for 4 weeks and it stayed in the top 40 for a long time..
Bellissima donna bellissima canzone bellissima voce... perfetto 😘
Still listening 2023
Phil Collins produced this song, played drums as well and you can hear his voice in the chorus. i have so much respect for him
He produced and had his band play on the whole album
Thanks for letting me know after 40 years, now it makes sense.
I was 10 when this was released. I never knew Phil Collins helped with this recording! Thanks for letting everyone know.
This is so Phil Collins 👍
Holy crap, it all makes sense now!
I just heard this in a Royal Farms while grabbing a sodie-pop and thought it was a new song. I was like, "Wow that's so 80's..." and checked on CZcams as soon as I got back to me car. Man they don't make music like this anymore. Glad I found it
Royal Farms!?! You in MD?
Heh... yeah. I didn't realize that was strictly a MD thing.
Great song and music. But it will induce depression when you listen very deeply. So be prepared to pull yourself together afterwards and try to go on with your life after the mourning subsides.
Had no idea about Phil Collins' association with this. Very cool.
This is an amazing 80's Pop-Rock song!Quality,Style,Atmosphere all of them up to the top.
@konstantinokaragiannis1596 Frida I Know There’s Something Going On is one of my favorite song

Super early heart of MTV.
I also didn't know it was Frida form abba. Amazing along with drum beats of Phil Collins 😊
This song always reminds me of one of my favorite 80's ski movies: "Just The Way You Are" w/one of my favorite childhood 80's Actresess: 'Kristy McNichol'. ☺️👍
80's + collins + frida's voice = fantastic hit
Frida's vocals and the drumbeat is what makes this song a timeless classic.
Blame it on Phil
Yep that’s got Phil Collins sound all over it
@@montanaplease Yep. He never touches a cymbal during the entire song; it's all Phil Collins Gated Reverb™.
I haven't ever been into Abba but I really love this song and can definitely tell it was collins on the drums.
Frida only did the vocals. Genesis lead singer Phil Collins did the drums and backup vocals.
God I miss the 80s.
Compozitorul Phil Collins a facut o alegere foarte potrivită pentru această melodie interpretată de artista Frida cu o voce magnifică! Very nice!🥰💯💥💥💥🌹🌹🌹
Man, I'm so great full to have lived in the 80s being a teen. Just scroll my memories
Same here. I miss those days. Just remember "You never know what you had until it's gone forever."
Fridas beautiful voice and Phils Iconic drum sound. Perfect
I love this song so much more than anything ABBA ever did.
2023 its a great pre grunge sound in 1982 thank you frieda
Only today i realised that this is one of the 2 women from Abba. This is an amazing track that has stood the test of time.
And today was my day of realization...
Same. I well remember the song, but the ABBA connection eluded me.
you must live under a rock
I was just going to say that I had no idea 😂😂😂😂😂
Masterpiece is very simple when you have Frida and Phil.
Playing this at work. I think I'm about to lose my job. They're "right sizing" and I just have a feeling....
Still listening in 2022...just like in the 80's.

ABBA: Never surpassed; never equalled; and the likes of which never to be seen again.
abba will always be in my heart....
Not gonna lie. I'm 26 years old and this is my jam right now. Love discovering the MANY gems of the 80s.
Live it, enjoy it. There will never be another decade like it, ever.
from a time when cool was cool. like bananaramas cruel summer is still cool
I lived it! I can honestly tell you, there will never be another decade like the 80's!
Taliban go to Hell2021a.d.
Hey. I'm 38...and nobody can Match the 80's
This song takes me back!! Best memories
The 80’s!!!!
Frida is very beautiful.
she had a very hard and tragic life. she was adopted, and never met her father, untill like the age of 35,,,her second marriage to benny, fell apart, she married a prince ,then her daughter was killed in a car crash in America, then her husband died a year later. but she always had that amazing voice. love you Anni frid lyngstad!
Also she was a 'Nazi child' who had to escape Norway for fear of being ostracised.
Did not know that. Wow.
She was not adopted, her mother died when Frida was still a child after running away from Norway to Sweden. Frida was raised by her grandmother.
No, not adopted. She knew her father was German and thought he had died. She met him when she was 32. Sadly when she was 52, her daughter Ann died at the age of 30.
money changes everything
Ricordo questa bellissima canzone primi anni 80 era una delle più belle canzoni e a distanza di anni rimane indelebile nel tempo bellissimi anni 80 ricordi strabilianti
2022 still love my 80s great to have been teen back then Class of "88"
The redhead always was the hottest of the two - great tune and Phil's production and drumming absolutely tear it up
Never really understood why this song wasn't a bigger hit, it's so freaking good!
@Manuel Casanova Frida I Know There's Something Going On is a great song
It was a pretty big hit when it came out in 1982. Top 10 in most parts of the world. Top 15 in the US.
Reached the top 20 in the United States which was actually better than most of the ABBA singles
Although it only peaked at number 13 in the US, for the entire year it placed at number 20. It really was a big hit. That means that some songs that hit number one in 1983 were lower than 20 on the chart for the entire year.
@@michaelrochester48 Abba placed 10 hits in the US Top 20 (including a # 1 hit and 4 top 10). It wasn't a failure at the moment for a band coming from a non-english speaking country.
I also remember this song became a really big hit in France peaking at # 4, hearing it playing on the radio several times a day in 1982.
Dear god, she is incredible
Cool song. How many songs, poems, stories are about our love and the loss of it.
WOW !!! I am now 52 years old, loved this tune when it came out and through ought the years , just now put two and two together that it was Frida from Abba. And I'm an Abba fan. You learn something new everyday !!!! This is blowing my mind.
56 now...grew up as a kid listening to ABBA, Kraftwerk, Ventures, BoneyM, Uriah Heep, BTO, Gord Lightfoot, Country superstars, etc...world music on the radios stations...transitioned into all genres as I grew up...but still get spellbound by Agnetha, Friday and ABBA. Awed by The Ghost in recent times for their 70s sound and theatrical expression (reminiscent of pop rock, BOC and others)...someone said they are like a marriage between ABBA and Ozzy 😂🤗 and I kinda like that!
Me too. 52 and just realized that.
@@lemmdus2119 OMG that is so sad and pathetic. How could you not know for the last 40 years. So lame
I was born in 1981. I had not even heard this song until earlier this year (2023)... but it has since become a huge favorite and i cant get it out of my head. And i'm a huge ABBA fan, know all of their work and love it all and always have, just never heard this song!
I totally understand I am old-school. I remember when the song came out in 1981 it didn’t make number one but it made number five on the charts… younger generations are listening to 70s 60s and 80s it’s amazing👍
I didn't know that Frida was from Abba until they said that was her on VH1 one hit wonders
I heard this on the radio a lot when it first came out. I knew Frida was from ABBA and Phil Collins from Genesis produced it. It was an instant favorite for me.
Heard this on the radio in Hawaii today. Such a forgotten gem!
2023 - there's something definitely going on. You can feel it in the air tonight.
nice tie back to Phil Collins !
This is peak Frida hair/styling. She looks fucking stunning. What a goddess!
I am in2023. I had her album popfavorik cd. Good work.
Frida has the most beautiful voice in the music industry ever she ROCKS
It's no wonder ABBA's vocals were so good... She is awesome
Agnetha and Frida both had beautiful voices
Thank you for connecting the dots for me. 👍
The blonde, Agnetha was the main singer, and the one who did 3/4ths of their hits. But Frida is a close second for sure.
woah TIL she was in ABBA
@@ChatGPT1111 No, the point is that they are both the lead singers.
This song is the 80's.
This is a wonderfull Phil Collins song together with Frida from ABBA. It would had been great if Phill recorded more songs with different artists in that time.
Russ Ballard wrote it
@@Jason-bw3et Russ Ballard had an incredible run of great songs. This, the two by Rainbow, and of course his own "Voices". Legend!
This song is incredible and unique to this day! Her crystal clear vocals paired with Phil Collins on the drums is just magical! ❤❤❤❤

The drumming of Phil Collins remain a legend !
Not only does she have that hauntingly beautiful voice, she is incredibly gorgeous!
Yes, she definitely fills out her slacks ,!!!
great musician, but gorgeous....er no!!
Ive heard this song a million times, and I'm today years old to find out the chic from ABBA sang this. 😮
this song is so underrated....
The 80s rocked. No drama, just great music.
This song is all about drama, sweetie 😘
Well Madonna was serious drama but I know what your saying . She stayed in the news.
You’re slow if you think there wasn’t any drama in the 80s
One of those songs that can't ever be loud enough
True story.
I'm an old soul, I feel so out of place being 28 in 2022. I wish I'd been born in the 70s and got to grow up in the 80s. I'm envious of those who got to do so. I'd give anything to live in a time where things were simpler and made more sense.
Love this song, but never realized it was one of the Abba singers, lol.
Love Frida
I have my pencil drawing of Frida posted on my YT community please check it out.
Foxy Frida, the gorgeous lady, with beautiful eyes, and her incredible voice. Definitely my favourite ABBA member.
