Thank you for watching! Make sure to like the video and subscribe to my channel :)
Billy's idea on outlawing tire siping and grooving, and only being able to surface grind tire's is a GREAT idea. I think it would make racing ( competition ) that much closer, which in turn makes it more exciting for fans to watch.
Interesting video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
YES i AGREE .. Billy Pauch -An American Hero ... Simply speaking the truth ---whats good for all involved in the Sport. No Greed --no negative slander talk --SIMPLY AN EMPATHETIC -COMPASSIONATE MAN AND HIS LOVE FOR THE SPORT
Billy is awesome, always thinks of the little teams to.
I agree, thanks!
Absolutely a brilliant video. It was refreshing to see 2 seasoned racers looking out for the smaller teams. They understand that some of the smaller teams are the big teams of the future. Could never understand why neighboring tracks don't run by the same rules (tire rule as mentioned in your discussion). It is an advantage to all the tracks that the competitors, in that area, can run at any of the tracks without a major investment in wheels and tires to compete at the various tracks. It will keep the tight-budgeted teams able to stay in the sport longer without having to win the lottery to be able to race on a local level. Instead of being a dictator, the track owners need to talk to their customers and try and understand what could make the sport, that supports their investment, better and more affordable. Would enjoy seeing more of the sit-down discussions, on the sport of auto racing, with your Dad, Mike, and your brother.
Being a relatively new subscriber, I've been going through some of the older videos, and they are really enjoyable.
Billy the Kid---legend! great video
Mandee even though I don't help on a race team now if all tracks would use some tires and compounds that would be such a time saver your dad said it the best I have ever heard with his comment about getting to spend time with kids so they know who there daddy is that is priceless and true thanks for the video
I had no idea ..wow
Thanks for posting 👍 very enjoyable video 👍 👏 Nice to hear Billy stick up for the low budget racer. Very classy
I hope you do another of these working together videos. One of my favorites so far.
All tracks and series should watch this video. Awsome sone at the end also.
I agree with your Dad and Mike. We have been racing a crate late model in Western Kentucky and Northwest Tennessee and we have have to have two different tires to race depending on where we race at. One series, we can pretty much do what ever we want to them as far as cutting and siping, but we only have one compound. The other series has two compounds (neither of which will work in the other series) but we can't do anything to the softer compound but grind it, the harder compound we can cut and sipe. I would love for both of these groups to come to a common tire rule to make our lives easier and cheaper.
Who would argue with naming Billy Pauch the commissioner of northeast dirt modifeds!
#ICON
Commissioner of "Winston Cup", too, or, also.
No arguments here! IMHO I've always thought he was the best to ever wheel a car. The "Kid" is always smooth and consistent.
Great subject mandee, Your dad is spot on. We went down to east bay with the American racers on. Had to buy a half a dozen Hoosiers to run at there track. Thousand bucks before we ever turned a lap.
Excellent video, very informative
Be cool to see a no tire prep race mini series. Have all the local tracks run a one race at each place but have them race on a tire with no prep or like your father said just grind them. Be like a speedweek and crown a champ of no tire prep.
great vid...just being a racing fan I can easily see that if the tracks work together, and do things that the low budget teams can be helped by and make things simpler for the big teams.. we can save this sport and keep it healthy and growing for many years.. I have been going to the same dirt tracks since I was a wee kid in the early 60's and it just breaks my heart to see how hard it is for those low budget teams today and we really do need them week in and week out to stay and keep running and keep this sport healthy.. for the racers and the fans that love this sport.
This was great! Learned a lot about stuff that fans never hear about.
Thanks for posting!
I'm glad you can learn from the video. Thank you for watching!
Shocks are another issue that needs addressed especially in the dirt late models. Its out of control. Good tech talk. I really enjoyed it.
We use that same American Racer tyre in F1 Stockcars here in the UK, we only use it on the right rear, and we dont touch it, no cutting or softening, and we use it at all the tracks, even tar and shale too. All that work needs cutting out, its the same for everyone then, that's what we do, good luck, Nigel.
Wow. That’s a prime example that we can do without! Thanks for your input
NICELY done ,just saw all the chilli blow threw your channel,i liked it very much, also...
Best "technical" vlog yet......the "usual suspects" (all track management where track stamped tires are required ) should be made to watch this vlog. Racing unaltered tires would save race teams time and money.....and help increase car counts too.......
However, I'll bet that the track owners/operators who require buying their track stamped tires will perceive a loss of profit/revenue from loss of tire sales. I side with the drivers/car owners on this issue.
Good one Mandee ( & Mike & Billy)...Thanks again.
Super video, with great comments. I grew up watching supermodified racing in Pittsburgh. But they got to expensive for local guys to run. I fear the same thing is now happening in other classes. I agree, tracks need to work together to keep the sport alive. I live in Michigan now, and every dirt track has its own set of rules. Racers are willing to travel but have to make to many adjustments to their vehicles for each track. Add to this the fact that each track has their own tires and it is nearly impossible. All of these different rules and exclusive tire deals are not good for the sport.
This is why Dirt modified racing is the best , hardworking honest families like the Pauch and Mahaney families. Lets work together!
Mandee, ask your dad why the tire companies can’t make the tires with the types of groves from the factory. Would save a lot of money on growing equipment. Outlaw any siping of the tires and you now have a level playing field tire wise. Thanks! Great video concept. Plus who better to ask then your dad
I don't follow modified racing much as I'm a big sprint car fan here in Central PA, but I've said for years the best all-around driver I watched was easily Billy Pauch!
Hi Mandee. Tom Harris is a friend of mine, and was in your A main last week at the Chilly bowl, that's how i came across you. I do blogs each week here too on Stoxnet.com, the only driver that does. Have a look on Google images for f1 stockcar Nigel Harrhy 45 to see the cars we race. V8 Chevy too! Nige.
I've enjoyed watching your videos this post week of the Chili Bowl 2018 in Tulsa. I'm from Tulsa and my parents, brother and most of my family live there. My Dad, Harold Dean, brother Ho Dean and nephew Brandon Dean all race modified at Creek County Speedway just outside Tulsa. Ho just won this past season championship, making that his 17 th year. Good luck to Mike this coming season. I'll keep up if you post. 😃🏁🏁🏁🏎️🏎️
So true tires are number one money drain. Even down in Texas it same way. Be cool if y’all could come down to Kilgore and race one weekend they have a big event.
That's why CJ Richards started the CVRA and had great success and kept COSTS WAY DOWN. Malta, Devils Bowl and then Airborne Everyone has the same tire no matter what and you couldn't touch them period, even thought they were Towel City retreads everyone had to run them along with small block engine rules that were affordable even for very small teams like me that had, me, myself and I for a team ..lol ... but it was workable. HAD GREAT RACING every WEEK.
If drivers stick together an boy Cott a track . Sure it could happen .if they all stuck together . To get all the tracks to run one tire . So wouldn't need six sets for every different track . So much easier if they did
RIGHT On Mandee Mike and Billy... These aftermarket suppliers of race equipment are ruining racing with the price of there product there selling..motors $50,000+rolling chassis $50,000+, body $3000... and tires ?...I could keepon going..But...
Some people from the east coast tend to bash series like IMCA ,but they have their own stamped tires that are valid at any sanctioned track nationwide. Just saying
So much politics in the Jersey/Delaware/Eastern PA racing circles. When my brother was racing, he used to say the same thing. They really need to get together to make things easier... Also makes it easier for inspectors at the tracks AND harder for cheating.
U need better audio for this type of interview, love your show
Would you be able to talk about mercer raceway in episode 2?
Well i think it stinx....for some even myself are spending alot doing what we have to do to race....some small operations mite need the cash!!....gas...food!!
I agree, Benjamin! I agree
Sypeing and grooving tires sucks. Pretty hard work. I'd rather just "sand" the tires
did you guys go to the motorsports show?
All tracks and dirt modifieds should go with 1 tire. Hoosier like the super late models
I agree 100%!
Whats your feeling on tracks that pay by check..vs..cash?
That’s an interesting question I hadn’t heard yet! I honestly don’t know. I’d say it’s probably more of a reliability kind of thing but we all know cash is king lol
Mandee Pauch
Cripe, what a hassle. And you didn't even mention having to have extra tires for stagger (or don't the rules allow stagger)?
Mandee I enjoy all your vlogs but this has been the best yet. You really should continue with bodies, chassis, etc. Very informative stuff.
Thanks! That's the plan :)
Does your dad still sell racing tires?
