    I believe Adriatica Village is themed after Croatia, not Italy. The Guitar Sanctuary is a one of kind guitar shop located in the Adriatica Village., which they also host many small venue concerts just behind the guitar shop. I love it there, as I live in the Westridge community.

      @RebeccaValera  Před rokem +1

      Yes, you are correct… it’s architecture is modeled after a village in Croatia. It still has an Italian vibe to me 😜.
      I love the Guitar Sanctuary. I haven’t been there for a concert, but for a few special events.

    They're talking like McKinney is some city sitting out in the middle of nowhere that has a great downtown and is a thriving city. McKinney is just a suburb in the Dallas-Forth Worth area; it's not its own metro area. So having a thriving downtown is not surprising when you're in a huge metro area.

    • @RebeccaValera
      @RebeccaValera  Před rokem +1

      I never mentioned that it was out in the middle of nowhere, however, it has grown substantially since the 90s when it was a smaller city outside the larger Dallas metro area. The historic area within Mckinney does have that walkable urban vibe, but is not large enough to be a true metro (however, if you are ever there during October fest or any other major event at the square you might think otherwise). It is the one of the largest historic areas in all of Texas… so compared to the other surrounding suburbs, the Mckinney downtown is the largest one.

    I’m a former teacher as well! I was thinking about possibly substituting once we move but now with Covid may not happen. I also am unsure of what I need to do credential wise. I have a LONG EXPIRED California K-8 credential. (I stayed at home to raise my kids so I didn’t keep it current). I miss it and would love to at least sub. What does that entail? Would I have to take a lot of classes to get my credential up to date?

    The problem in the USA lifestyle is all by highways and cars. Totally different from the lifestyle in Australia. In Australia, you do not need a car--public transportation is huge. Trains and buses non-stop to take you around. Bazaars all over the places so you do not feel isolated.

    • @Suherminmak
      @Suherminmak Před 2 lety

      Most Americans have cars in suburbs area, having cars are more convenient to get around instead of take public transportation don't you think ? I can't imagine life without cars, got to wait in the cold and shoulder to shoulder in public transportation ? No thank you.
