  • The Bible says that “all the musicians were trained and skilled in music for the Lord”. As musicians and singers, are you practicing the right and the essential skills? How do you define and cultivate a 'culture of excellence'? How do we build strong relationships with our team?

I would like to challenge you and every other worship band that strives for excellence in their worship.
Yes, we should practise and be trained and be skilled. I'm not suggesting we should just have a crack and see what happens. There is nothing that can break a worship service apart more than mistakes.
But excellence? This is not Biblical. The word excellence is only used in the Bible ever in relation to God himself. Outside of this, it is never even mentioned.
we are not called to be excellent. we are a broken people in need of a saviour. The Bible is full of stories of how God used broken and damaged people to do HIS Will. It didn't require the skill, talent and EXCELLENCE of people to accomplish his Will. He required the hearts of willing and faithful servants.
This is too common in modern worship. And it's wrong.
