I’m so glad I found your channel. Been searching for a successful stories about lung transplant patients. I’m waiting for my new lungs. I got listed Sept 8, 2021. Praying that it will come soon. In God’s perfect time. How are you now with your new lungs? Thanks and God bless!

Cecille congrats on getting listed!! That's so exciting!! I will be a year out December and everything has been amazing! I have absolutely no regrets. Did your transplant center give you an average wait time? Keep me posted on how things go please.

Currently waiting for my “approval process”. All test went well but still on edge as to whether they’ll approve me or not. Will know at the end of this month. Thanks for sharing…..gives me hope!

Hi Barbara. I hope your doing very well 🙏. Your inspirational. I was wondering if you don’t mind me asking how old you are? You look very young. It makes me wonder if you have alpha 1 anti trypsin deficiency. It’s not as rare as they say it is. It’s actually pretty common.

I am 52, and I was always told that I didn’t have alpha 1 by my Pulmonary Docs

Why did they do a right sided heart catheter and what were the results? My hubby is getting that soon

The right sided heart cath checks the pressures in the heart and lungs. It is how Pulmonary Hypertension is diagnosed. The heart cath itself is a quick, painless procedure. He will be up and going again shortly after. Good luck with everything!

Was notified yesterday that I basically had a birth defect (hole) with my heart. Unfortunately, I wish they had told me about it after they did the check (2 months prior) as now I have to go and get a PFO (great explanations on CZcams BTW) which mirrors the catheter procedure and includes closing the hole in my heart with a permanent medical device. The procedure with the catheter doesn’t take very long but they will keep him at the medical facility a few hours afterward to make sure all is ok. I actually drove myself afterwards. They did tell me I qualified for the transplant as long as the PFO and blood thinners for 1-3 months afterwards went well. I unfortunately was not notified of the hole until the team discussed whether or not I’d qualify to go on the transplant waiting list. My initial thoughts were that I probably could have had the repair/blood thinners prior to meeting the team. Oh well….hope it won’t take too long!

@@CJP-oz6hr Are they sure you will need a transplant after correcting the hole in your heart? For me, when they were looking for the cause of my Pulmonary Hypertension, they thought it may be from a hole and if it was they said that fixing that would correct my oxygen problem. Unfortunately there was no hole and my oxygen problem could not be corrected that way.

@@BarbraMyPHCOPDLife …. Most definitely on the transplant. That’s a good point/question for the doctor when I get the procedure done.
