Barbra, i am so happy for you. Your breathing is so much better now. You are a very sweet person and deserve a new wonderful healthy life. God bless you Barbra.
Yay!! I have been following you shortly after I lost my mom to CHF/COPD almost 4 yrs ago. You are amazing and SO strong. Im so happy for you! I wish you continued health and happiness all the way from Iowa. :)
Hello, England here1 My goodness Barbra, what a journey! I have followed for some time and it's so wonderful to experience where you are now. Your courage and determination are an example. We are so fortunate to be able to benefit from the advances in surgery. Best wishes on your road to full recovery.
You've been on my mind a lot lately and I am elated for you and your new beginnings. Prayers for an easier path forward. You are one smart, tough cookie. I know one day, I'll have to make that tough decision also, but you inspire me to not give up. Healing hugs. Thank you for the update. I look forward to watching your transplant journey.
No wonder the last 3 days you have been weighing heavy on my mind. Now I know why. I am so happy for you. You made the right move and I bet your daughter is one happy lady too. Please keep us posted. Happy New Years 2021. Better late than never. Enjoy your new lungs. ☺
I had a feeling you were busy getting your new life! I'm so very happy for you! You look amazing and no cannula, YAY!!!! Sounds like it was pretty intense but well worth it. I'm so excited for you and your new normal!! I was terrified of possibly having the surgery when listening to your hospital ordeal. But when you described having new lungs I got filled with joy and excitement. The thought of no more oxygen, just grabbing my purse and hopping in the car. Going shopping with my sister, playing with my granddaughters. Thanks so much for sharing your experience, it's helped me so much. Have lots of fun!!!
Omgosh I had been checking and checking for a video from you. I asked my husband last week "Where is she" He said just keep checking. I am so happy for you. I can't wait to see how you progress with everything. You look so good and healthy. No O2 tubing, how wonderful and freeing. I have so much to tell you. A little snipit is that 5 of my family members had Christmas dinner together, way under the recommendations and all five ended up with Covid. My twin on O2 was one of them and my oldest brother. They both got monoclonal antibodies the other 3 did not. He is recovering well and the other 3 are also doing ok but have fatigue often, which is to be expected. But my twin, well she recovered but it will be 2 more months before we know if her lungs will heal or if the damage is permanent. I'm optimistic but guarded for sure. I have told you before we both are end stage COPD but I don't need O2, and hope I never do. My husband and I got our first Covid vaccine and the second will be February 6th. I'll get to see my twin the end of February so it will be easier for me to know her situation. Well that's all for now because as you know I'm a rambler. God bless you and I wish only good things for you and your family. Normal wow! Happy New Year 🎉🎊🥳😊
Wow! That’s a lot! I’m glad to hear that it sounds like everyone made it through ok. I hope all are doing well as of now. Take care and happy vaccination 💉 😊
I watched most of this in tears....tears of joy for you and tears of sadness for me, because I am sure I couldn't jump through all the hoops and go through that intubation for that long. There is alot more to a lung transplant than any other transplant.
You would be surprised with what you can do. I was terrified, but just took one step at a time and thought about being on the other side done with the transplant and living my life, and here I am. If I can do it, you can do it. Btw most people don’t have to be intubated as long as I did. Good luck on your journey.
Amazing lady

You look so young! May I ask your age. I’m 64. Alpha1 ZZ with PH. Stage4 copd. Swollen lower legs.
I am 52
Glad you got your new 🫁 lungs 🤗🤗
Are you going to get the Covid vaccine?
Yes … I had to wait 4 months after transplant, but I did get the Johnson & Johnson shot.
