Oh my what a sweet video of your grandson. There is nothing better than the sound of baby giggles. You are so blessed that you are able to be around him without any worries. Hope they let your husband go in with you. It's stressful enough but having them along helps a lot. Please let us know how that turned out. I have my first consultation with my lung transplant Doctor on Wednesday and I am not allowed to have anyone with me :( but they can listen in. I'll be at Tampa General Hospital. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It really helps my nerves to have some kind of idea what to expect. As always, I look forward to your next video.

Awe Sweet. Love the sound of Babies laughing. It really gives a wonderful feeling inside. I'm seeing my Great Grandson Niklaus for the first time today. He's 3 months and smiling now. Of course Audrey will be there too, Great Granddaughter. Well I'm seeing everyone today. 1 Daughter, 3 grandkids and 2 great grandkids with on on the way in May.
The trip up here from Texas to Ohio takes it's toll on me.
Congrats on the 2 pounds. Yes steroids always make me gain a little weight. I've taken them with exacerbations. A week to 10 day course is all with an antibiotic. Usually happens once a year but sometimes twice. But with covid I think I will avoid that bad cold with restrictions in place. I've always used masks and gloves, hand sanitizer but never this vigilant. Being an old nurse I know how not to get sick but that didn't mean others didn't bring it to me unwittingly.
I'm really happy to see you doing well. Gotta run. Chat later.
Have a great few days of enjoying this weather up here. It is really beautiful.

IF you need to gain, try ScandiShakes. They are great for gaining weight! You can find them and order them on Amazon. They were suggested to me from my Transplant Team and have worked great for me. Good Luck!

Hi Barbra, You haven't posted anything in a while and I was wondering how you are doing. Have you been able to gain some weight? I went to Tampa General Hospital to talk to the Lung Transplant team and they sent me back home with a big list of things to do before I go back in April 2021. Hope you are well.

Hi Shelley B!! Thanks so much for checking in with me. Yes it's been a little while since I've posted ... time has gotten away from me. I'm so slow doing anything these days that I have a hard time doing anything extra, like posting videos. I am however posting one today to catch everyone up ... should be up shortly. About your stuff ... What things were they asking for you to do? Did they do any testing? Did you feel comfortable with the doctors or the transplant team that you met there? Let me know ... I'm excited to hear :)

@@BarbraMyPHCOPDLife Hi Barbra, I thought you were probably exhausted from all the tests you had to get through. I find that when I have multiple days of outings in a week I slow way down too. Especially sitting in the car and doctor's offices for long periods of time. I am so very excited for you to be on the transplant list. I know what you mean about being scared and excited all at the same time. When I think about the fear and then think about the joy of breathing and being able to be active, joy wins!!! I hope your wait is short. So...my stuff. At the Lung Transplant visit the only test they did was the 6 minute walk, which I was in the acceptable range. It was really hard for me because I had to drag the oxygen tank behind me. I thought it would be on a treadmill. It was very disappointing because most of the tests they sent me back home to do my Pulmonary doctor should have had me get done before sending me to Tampa. I have to see a Cardiologist to have a cardiac workup to rule out heart disease. I just went and saw a vascular surgeon who had me go get a sonogram on my lower body arteries and veins. There was no problem there. I am inclined to think it may be PAH. What test did you take to find out you have it. Also, will that get better after your surgery. It's strange because my oxygen is set at .5 liter when i am sitting, when I am going to be doing light housework i have to put it up to 1 liter and then doing the treadmill I have to put it up to 2 liters. I sleep with a ventilator now and it is set just above .5 so the alarm doesn't go off. I also hadn't been to the doctor before COPD since I had my son who was 38 when I was diagnosed with COPD. I seriously never got sick and always felt great so I saw no reason to go looking for trouble. So now I have to do a mamogram, Pap smear, pneumonia vaccine, cologuard and anual exam. It is so good to hear from you. I will try to think positive when you don't have as many videos. You're always in my thoughts and prayers and I look forward to seeing you one day with no oxygen tube!!!
