I honestly think this is the absolute only time I've ever seen someone say "I'm traveling not driving" and actually truthfully honestly being correct from hundreds, if not over a thousand, clips I've watched. That's videos on here and from the shows Cops, Live PD and many more on tv. I've literally been watching law enforcement type stuff for almost 40 years now. This is truly the only time!
Driving is making money from operating the vehicle.
Traveling is all other modes of operating a vehicle.
"The law" depends on us not knowing the difference.
I’ve seen many people beat cases of driving without a license by saying they’re traveling which in the constitution it’s says you have a right to travel. Whenever cars came along you had to have a drivers license to travel the roads for hire “doing deliveries or some job making money “ just another way the government taxes us. So once everyone started paying for licenses why say something to stop the money flow for the State. From what I’ve researched as long as you mail in your tags, registration, and have a certain amount of funds to insure your vehicle you can travel the roads without a license as long as your not doing it to earn income or committing, infractions . So “I’m Traveling “ has become a thing lol
I also thought of those "Sovereign Citizen" idiots when I heard "traveling"
@@sikcustomputters4577really?? Can you show me some people who’ve beat driving without a license case by stating their traveling?? Can you cite a case??

I agree, I always take the word of the animal owner in care and handling of said animal. C- is not the grade I would have given for the initial officers, frankly, what was the comment about the 1800s for? It wasn’t a productive comment. The officers primary responsibility is to protect the public’s right and freedoms, unless they have reasonable articulable suspicion that a crime was committed or about to be committed. Sadly those officers were not properly trained or educated on the law. Perhaps a better path would have been to reach out to a higher ranking officer for clarification before potentially violating the public’s right there are duty bound to protect. They get used to not being challenged
I live in Scotland. I was once following a group of kids out with a couple of adults on a trek. Part of the trek involved using the roadway. No biggie, the group are having fun. Karen appears, zips past the horses, then brake checks and sounds her horn. Lead horse turns and kicks the shit out of Karens car. She was arrested for animal endangerement.
I love this. Also, hi from Scotland as well. 🎉
Nice! The system works (sometimes)!
That poor car. 🥵
Nice!
Sad. Thought it was common sense to approach horses with caution ... so the animal is not harmed and the people around are not harmed.
First time I have seen anyone want a drivers license for riding a horse.
I know somebody who got a OWI drunk in electric wheelchair
Obviously its the new model X series, it just looks like a horse. Faster then a lambo but my guy wanted to enjoy the scenery.
Technically, I believe he needed to get the license from the horse, since the guy is a passenger. 😹
@@LoneTiger I don't think it works that way because you can get a DUI on a horse it doesn't matter if the horse is sober. I think the law kind of treats a horse like it's a vehicle not a living thing. I was absolutely shocked that you can get a DUI on a horse. Like who cares if you're drunk the horse isn't going to stumble in the traffic cuz you're drunk but the law is but the law is
They ask my my drivers license for riding my bike for doing the same legal things
As a horse owner, it’s scary to ride on roadways. I generally lead mine where I feel insecure..mostly because I can’t trust the behavior or alertness of the drivers. For the record, I live in the country and generally only ride trails, but sometimes transit to neighboring stables or trails on rural roads… still scary. Some horses are “bomb proof” and never spook, but you can never know. Hooray for the young man who knew his rights, I salute his bravery. He and his horse make a great team!
It's this man's moral duty as a citizen to oppose tyranny & educate the malfeasance of these incompetents

Driving license, park your horse.. you couldn’t make it up 😂
You were right with the first one, the felony. A horse can clip itself bad enough that it becomes a life threatening injury if the horse becomes lame from it. Some horses are put down for it because it cannot be cared for or treated. The humane thing then, is to put it to sleep. Although very unlikely in this situation, and probably more so with a racing horse given the speed of travel, but it's still a possibility.
Now I know better, but I live in a small town that has many horses around, actual "horse town". And I know enough that I even stop my mower when mowing my lawn whenever people ride by, just in case. I knew one horse that was scared of plastic bags, and another that was scared of trash cans. I would never want to be responsible for a horse freaking out, especially since a lot of kids still ride around here.
Like GrandMa so encourages me when young..."BOY, you sure got that $#!t right!!!"
I can remember wondering when I was a child how police officers memorized all the laws. Come to find out they don't know any of them. lol
Honestly, it's probably impossible to know every single law.
We should make lawyers part time cops
Listen in Europe in general all police officers have between 30 and 40 MONTHS of education in an police academy, the US is on average 25 WEEKS (between 21 - 30). They come out that education as if they would have graduated as pre-law or B.A. in law. AND still there are 75 shooting a year (1 every 5 days) but we have had 22 deaths till now (2022) by police and that's already a uproar (80+ M people) (deaths by GSW ~200 per year). Also unlike in the US where shooting is trained the majority of times, instead of learning laws and how to de-escalted and all the "humane" things, here around - and that's specifically to a state here, but they are nation wide similar:
"The shooting training is actually clearly regulated: 30 hours of so-called "operational training" is prescribed for every police officer per year, six hours of which are spent practicing with the service weapon."
That's cus they where making them up as they go
Maybe you should study the law then
How is a cowboy gonna have a drivers license for a horse?
The most disturbing part in this one to me, has to be when the officer states
"I'm concerned about a person being on a horse, with all this traffic"
He paid no regard to the personal freedoms or if it was legal, he went off his concern.
When did police starting trying to enforce their 'concerns'?
If they were 'concerned' why not assist in the flow of traffic to ensure safety?
This was a great onw Mr Audit the Audit!
The obvious solution for the ignorant Cop's "concern" would have been his pulling over about 100' BEHIND Mr. Hollingsworth, call dispatch & ask the Lt. if it's legal for anyone to be riding a horse on the road! The, he could have resumed his patrol...without such an embarrassing shut-down...

Not only that he mentioned that he has been telling his boys that there are a bunch of old laws concerning animals that are still valid and specifically mentioned there is a law allowing cattle to be herded down a road.

Also, as someone that lives near A LOT of Amish, this boggles my mind that they would not know horses can be on public roadways
There’s a lot of Amish out here too and even the sheriffs department rides their horses out and about in public regularly 😂
Amish are usually white
thats what i said- just- amish people exist mf lmao
Chicago suburbs and Amish country are vastly different places. A horse on the road in and around a big city is typically a once or twice in a lifetime thing, excluding oddities like parades.
It is not just Amish. There are many horse stables and people who go horseback riding. Usually not alongside a roadway...just because a horse is a All Terrain Vehicle so why bother with roads when you don't have to? Roads are hard surfaces which will give the horse leg problems later on.
Thank you for educating us! I would have never known these laws if it wasn’t for you! Even though that isn’t my country or my law, it’s still interesting to know!

I'm getting the impression that when cops are "re-issued" to a new area, or are posted at a department in a new State... for some reason, it seems that they're not obligated to update their knowledge of the law WITHIN their new State.
So many of these officers are trying to enforce stuff that seems like it was/wasn't legal somewhere else, and they're just unaware that that's not a law in their new jurisdiction.. 🤔
My dad was a cowboy for a long time and once after work he went to the bar and rode his horse to the bar. His horse knew the way home so after, he got on his horse and started his way home. It’s always been funny to me that the schooling/training to enforce the law is about half a year, sometimes a little more or less. Because the schooling to defend and practice the law is around 8yrs total, sometimes a little more or less. Policing should be a lengthy degree with plenty of testing on the law and on deescalation along with plenty of psychological testing before throwing someone with a gun in the field to deal with civilians.
