For those saying this is a boring play style, i do understand and I do agree, I'd personally not like to play like this myself but some people occasionally ask what's the most optimal way to play ranked to rank up and honestly as boring as it is, this is it, this is definitely aimed at very beginner players though, understandably there's not many out there but I do get asked from time to time how to play zone etc so I'd hope this would be useful to those players

This was very useful. I was wondering why you didn't play more Catalyst wall once you exited the tunnel and you had 2 teams left. Was it to not draw attention or did you just not notice where they were in time?

This was a fantastic video. Your commentary about random teammates was so on point. It’s so gratifying when you get them to the far side of the ring and you end up with a top finish and a great late game fight. People just don’t have the patience or they think they they’re too good and need to fight
I know this works...... but the fact that this is the ideal way to play is exactly why I want them to switch away from a placement based system so much. They really need to have a hybrid system using both kills and placement.
Ranked is quite boring right now
I liked the system in like season 12 where your kill points were multiplied by your placement- this required you to fight but also stay alive
I think it needs to be hybrid and go back to faster closing zones. Ranked more than anything should not be such a slow burn imo.
this is a solid strategy, but personally I most respect the "play to improve mindset" rather than chasing points from a constantly changing ranked mode. That is to say, win or lose, no matter the rank, if you played better than last game/week/season you're winning.

Im really really good at being the leader of my team and handling rotations especially with cat. Only thing is im a solo queue and it’s a Hail Mary if they listen. If my team listens to me then it’s damn near a guaranteed top 5
Great position advice! It is nice that now if another team kills someone you damage you still get the assist. Prioritizing targets is the difference between good teams and great teams!

Thank you for a great illustration of the way to play rank right now. And this to me, is exactly why rank needs to change. This in a way is promoting ratting. There should be a hybrid system, in such a way that kills matter. Like if you get placement with zero kills, you get some sort of deduction. Like half LP or something.
But if you get placement with kills you get a SIGNIFICANT bonus per kill.
If you just get kills off drop and no placement, those kills won’t matter as much. Hybrid system
In promos I try to play as close to this playstyle. In normal ranked I still have the intention to rotate quickly. I also play catalyst. But when I duo q we always end up in gun fights and third parties. If we win these fights we still try to play zone but usually best spots are taken. You can still win like this but the “play zone asap” play style will probably work better with randoms.
I love finding these teams late game. We just roll em and get meds.
Its weird that it happened to me 3 times already but i got wins by just going into the ring. Enemies just died to ring and i won. 2 of those games i haven't seen ANYONE during the game.

I just play ring and hold down buildings on the inside edge of the ring. And force them to play doors. Catalyst has hidden skirmish ability. Her ability to lock doors makes for very chaotic fights in building for enemy teams. It’s like going against a left handed batter
Catalyst is easy to play but i think she has super high skill ceiling tho huge dif between a average cata and me 😜

This works for sure, but first damage after 14 minutes… sucks for me, i want to play a shooter game…

i tried her and she not my legend the only good ability is here ultimate the bad thing is a other catalyst can just go throw it with out any debuf

Why would you want to play like this tho? Apex preds mostly dont play like this and play much more aggressively, its a lot better to fight and gain experience and skill thru fights than play like this tbh
Because it's easy. If all you care about is ranking up this is objectively the easiest way of doing so

Until you reach Diamond 3 and get full 3 stack preds making it impossible to rank up to masters by solo queue

@@LogicManGaming I never said it was good to do it, it's really bad in the long run like you said, but it is the easiest way of ranking up because of the system mainly being ranked on placement and not what you do in the match. It's not about how good you are at the game, it's how easy it is to cheese the system by playing like that. A lot of people only care about that shiny, meaningless badge and this is the easiest way to get it no matter your skill level

@@m13848movement and aim is all this game is. I’ve seen preds with 💩movement dominate because they don’t miss. Not everyone has God aim. Why tell people their way of playing is the incorrect boring way? Just let them play 🙄 Doesn’t effect the rest of us and if it does, apex probably isn’t the issue
