Killing people while they are waking up is a different type of evil.
Pigs would kill us in our sleep if they could; and they do and have.
@@paintdrinker455 It isn't that simple because even if you revolt and oust the current government and police then you will have to replace it with another one and then that new government and police will have its own problems and flaws. A classic example of this is the russian revolution and the ousting of the Romanov family.
If you don't have any government or police then society will regress into anarchy which, unlike some people paint it to be, is not so pretty because it just means more poverty, famine, violence, stealing, murder, r*pe, etc. There are evil people at the top but also there are evil people all over in society so they will all just come crawling out the woodwork at once.
It’s a really fucked up situation. We need to get rid of no knock search warrants. It’s unconstitutional, so the fuck what I sleep with my gun? I don’t deserve to die wtf
@@rdv217 You’re smoking crack if you believe it’s not their fault.

The press release was disrespectful! They had no information that he was a suspect or any connection to the warrant. They are trying to change the narrative. I am terrified every time my son, man, dad, cousins, uncle and etc leave the house. Praying everyone make it home safely.
And that's what the reform movement is all about. If police didn't know, hye shouldn't make the public assume
#MURICA
We also have to be aware even at home sitting on the couch, sweethearts.. I have PTSD & can't sleep at night really well & yes my "safety" is OFF for whoever enters without permission ..its just like in the BIBLE "door to door" attacks nevertheless 🤦♀️ condolences to the family/our nation!!

They murdered him, plain and simple. This could happen to any of us.
Only if you live in USA though.
@@rdv217 I don’t think they went in with the intention to kill him but they did murder someone who had the right to have a gun. He was sleeping on the couch you saw them kick the couch instead of waiting outside for the suspect or if you think he’s a threat like that why kick the couch? And wake him up in a violent way?
@@rdv217 bro he was sleeping tf, if niggàs come into my house yelling and screaming and I wake up not knowing wtf is going on how do I know if it’s the cops or a random intruder
@@rdv217 but hear me out though although I understand the whole argument of the gun and blah blah blah, they could of avoided being in that situation all together if there wasn’t a no knock warrant at all
@@rdv217 This is an idiotic take on the situation. Have you ever seen someone calmly react to being violently woken up and having flashlights in your face? Of course you will be reaching to shoot back. It is your own home ffs and you have no criminal record. I don't even know how the hell these cops even got a search warrant for this mans house. They murdered him.
Bruce, I love how your only bias is being against senseless killings. You do good work man

The answer is no knock warrants should be illegal. Period. Yes suspects can flush down or destroy evidence but the benefit of an innocent person not being killed is worth the cost of a DA not being able to prosecute a case due to a lack of evidence in a drug bust.
They could also make drugs legal because other evidence is harder to flush down the toilet.
Drugs is not that serious of a crime for badging into peoples homes. It is so ridiculous what the law in this country allow these cops to do.
Absolutely.
Yeah even the reason for the no knock warrants existing makes no sense. Since if the police has to bust a house down on drug crimes no way the criminals have enough time to flush many drugs down the drain and if they don't have lot's of drugs it probably is such a small scale crime that it doesn't need to have a warrant in the first place. It's just a way for cops to force themselves into situations where they can kill people.
@@knightingg8324 what about the major drugs trafficking. Drugs like (heroin, coke, crack, meth) all of those are dangerous. Weed I’m fine with
I can’t believe they lied about what happened before releasing the footage they claimed he pointed it at them and he didn’t even point it anywhere . This is exactly why no knock warrants should be banned.
its so easy for police to lie.
Where was he pointing the gun?
@@davidsmiths5471 he wasn’t even aiming at anything , look at the video you can see it’s not pointed at them at all.
His finger was indexed along the frame, perfect trigger discipline, he showed absolute poise in a heated discipline. Shame he was shot for no reason
They’re trained liars.

@@rdv217 nobody wants to hear that shit the same thing have happened this year with a 19 year old sleeping on his 🛋 🤷♂️ the police ended up being at the wrong house and now a innocent person is dead because of an “mistake”.
@@rdv217 lol cops don’t face discrimination they chose the job. They can put the badge and gun down anytime they like. I can’t change my skin color. Cops are widely disliked because of the shit they can pull and get away with.
This is so sad. You let me wake up to a bunch of people in my house yelling shit and see if I dont reach for my protection too. Who's to say that he didn't know wtf was going on. For all he knew someone was just running up in the house to rob them. This is scary that something like this can happen and we keep encountering these situations. When are things going to change?
@@rdv217 100% true. I agree with that totally. I feel they should implement some sort of new protocol as to handling cases like this. I know nothing can be predicted as to what may happen. Both sides are probably going through some tough times right now.
@@rdv217 why did the police lie then? If it was just an "accident"...then they should have said that from the start. They were in the wrong house...and killed no one involved in the warrant...
And they used a key so the fire thing he heard was then already in the house.. of course he freaked. Asha the mayor claimed he led the charge to ban no knock warrants…
@@rdv217 Sure they saw a gun, however police should be trained correct. the man presented no immediate threat. sure he had a gun, but having a gun inside your own home isn't illegal. they didn't demand he drop the weapon. they spent less than 2 seconds and decided that because this man was startled, woken up, dazed, and confused, that he deserved to die. Wrong place at the wrong time? he was asleep in his home. I'm not anti cop, these cops are trigger happy. Gun ownership is legal, so the mere sight of one shouldn't be a death sentence. I deal with life threatening situations in my place of work, and you know what happens if i have an accident and cause someone's death? I am fired and I am also liable and will go to court. You know what I do, because im an adult. I train, i practice, I spend time keeping my skills up so that mistakes don't happen.
@@rdv217 I'm sorry but even being arrested for a felony doesn't make you guilty of that felony, therefore still having the gun wouldn't be illegal. We shouldn't be brushing off the death of an innocent (and also innocent until proven guilty) person by saying, well oope It was just a typical accident cause everyone makes mistakes.
You can see the emotion in Bruce his face. He really cares about this issue and so should everyone.
Lol sure. And he loves you.

@@rdv217 ok so usually you karen fucks say he should have cooperated he wouldnt be dead. tell me what the victim should have done in this case to still be breathing
How they don’t have all the information yet they have a warrant? America will never stop doing this.
When did "No knock" turn into USING A LANDLORD PROVIDED KEY TO SNEAK ALL THE WAY INTO AN AMERICAN CITIZENS PRIVATE DWELLING?? What uf there was a baby sleeping with him under the blanket?? Did they know if he was 100% alone? Also, a lawyer with Amir's family said the warrant was for PROPERTY not to effectuate an arrest!!!
There was a baby that got tear gassed in a playpen during the execution of a no knock warrent. The explosive was unintentionally tossed into the baby's playpen and caused serious damage. The cops claimed they didn't know there were children present even though they passed a lot of children's toys outside. It turned out to be the wrong house on top of everything. That didn't change anything. I have so little hope anything ever will change at this point.
Was not his place! How would you actually know he was a sleep also?
@@davidsmiths5471 Does not matter if it was not "his" place he was there legally via permission of the "owner". They were not busting in because of a trespassing report, a squatter report, an intruder report. He was there by permission of the "owner" (in this case a renter but does not matter as that person "owns" via a legal contract ie: lease). It is called LEGAL DOMAINE. American citizens have a right to PRIVACY within their legal domaine. You have the right to refuse police entry to your vehicle without a warrant and most people don't live there.
And ok...lets pretend together...so what if he wasn't asleep? How does that change the equation? He was "awake" therefore he "should" have heard the unknown intruders quietly unlocking and opening the door before multiple agressive armed men storm in shouting loudly over one another many different commands and the lying on the couch but "awake" Amir should have immediately "understood" and "known" exactly what was happening in 7 seconds of terrifying chaos??? Because he was lying on the couch but "awake" he "should" have done what??? Please elaborate!! (keep in mind he was alone in the apartment, was in the apartment legally, carried a gun legally, was NOT a suspect or tied in any way to the crime being investigated, nor did he have any criminal record/history, and lastly the warrant was for seizure of property not for the arrest of a person) But I digress...tell me why Amir Locke being "awake" makes a difference.
The more we become desensitized to these occurrences, the more life as we see it will continue to lose value.
Need to actually have trained professional and not life rejects who lucked through police academy and barely graduated high school.
Rather than lucked through, actually police Academy prefers low IQ candidates, they consider them more obedient.
A swat team is usually the best trained.

Bruce, like you, I don't know what the answer is. But it's not to issue a press release which:
- says they announced themselves before crossing the threshold, when they didn't;
- implies the deceased shot first, when he didn't;
- says the deceased pointed his weapon at the officers, which he didnt; and
- refers to the deceased as "the suspect" when in fact he was an innocent man napping on his couch under a blanket.
The individual officers had no lawful right to shoot him, and if their department believed in upholding the law it wouldn't be trying to cover their asses.

I work in the airplane industry. I wish every industry, including the police, behaved like the aerospace industry does when it comes to incidents. The goal, even if a pilot made an enormously negligent mistake, is to figure out ways to mitigate that mistake through improving training, communication, the selection process, maintenance, engineering & design etc. In the US, if you are involved in an incident, you will have to stand in front of the NTSB and the FAA and justify every decision you made second by second. Even if the incident is minor with no losses, changes can still roll out to the industry to prevent more serious incidents in the future. The police do nothing like this. They need a police version of these large outside regulations where every time an officer is involved in an incident above a certain severity, the involved officers and the department have to explain themselves to a third party with the power to strip their standing.
Another thing that would be less popular is that the aerospace industry doesn't take these incidents as being the cause of an individual. They look at everything that led up to a negligent decision and take on the responsibility as a whole to do better. Look at Tenerife where one pilot made an egregious error, it still altered training, time pressures, CRM (basically the crew dynamic), how takeoff clearance is communicated, and the airport built ground radar so the tower could better moniter plane locations during poor weather.
If we went through incidents in the US over just the last year and used those to create nationwide police regulations, things could get better. Especially if most officers, training schools, and departments could shift toward an attitude of using each incident to incrementally improve themselves.
Well said
Tiyra, how long were you a police officer before your career in the *air plane industry, or studying aerospace’s policy and procedures?
Tirya, I wish your comment had more likes. It’s probably a ;TLDR situation but I could not agree more.
The government wants this to happen. They want us afraid of the police. Governor Cuomo even admitted this publicly.
No knock warrants cause very clear fatal problems. Why would you expect a man waking up out of his sleep to be immediately aware of what's going on? The State should be held accountable for wrongful death. Enough taxpayer money being lost in these types of lawsuits would quickly change these no knock warrants.
Breanna Taylor wasn't killed cause of a no knock warrant cause police decided to knock. They do take it too far though, when police safety comes before civilian safety this is a huge problem. People need to come together and stop fighting over idiotic stuff like no knock warrants and black and white and left and right..... that's all bs to distract us. Let's get rid of democratic and republican parties and start again.

Why not catch him when he's coming out of the grocery store? At least they can make sure it's the right person. What happend to "freeze/put your hands up". They can obviously pull the trigger faster than he can reach for a gun and point it at them.
The idea is to paint him as a criminal suspect for the media to pick up and emplify the narrative. In the minds of those who view black people as dangerous that is all you need.
I worked with medics who's first comment to Brionna T's murder was to mention she stole something and lost her job as a result. So she deserved what she had coming, and we medics shouldn't feel for her like one of ours.
We saw the same thing with George floyd, ahmaud A. We saw the same thing with Zimmerman. They think it's enough to paint any black individual as a criminal. Demonize them to society to justify murdering them. Man this hurts, time and time again.

Then there should be armed response and unarmed response
For a warrant all officers must have 10 years min on job with much more training and psyc exams yearly
There must be some kind of registry so bad cops can't quit one place and lie so they can be hired at another

Could have been a kid they killed too. And these people killed by them aren't just statistics. These are real people who have families and friends who care about them and the pain is real when it's a loved one you've lost.
Honestly the Kim Potter shooting upsets me less. Maybe not as her competency towards being an officer, but that the victim played a part in escalating the situation. This dude did nothing wrong (inb4 someone says he associated with criminals, doesn't mean you deserve to be executed).

Another death at the hands of Minneapolis PD.
@@rdv217 IANAL but I imagine the warrant must be carried out by whomevers jurisdiction it is. So a judge can set a bench warrant so that any officer can make an arrest if contact is made with the subject, but in order to raid someone's home, it probably had to be Minneapolis?
That I'm not 100% sure of. But it's a pattern with Minneapolis PD. There are good police departments and bad ones and Minneapolis has shown time and time again to be one of the bad guys and that is why so many people are criticizing them.
@@rdv217 Plenty of states/jurisdictions are banning no knock warrants, because they're not effective nor safe. Again, if you want an element of surprise, get him as he's leaving his property.
Also... they frequently get the wrong address on no knock warrants.
Now, if you're a gun owner, and somebody kicks in your doors (and your not a criminal) you're going to assume an intruder has broken in, and (as you should) protect yourself by any means necessary.
This means officers can get shot, and the innocent home owner will be shot to pieces.
If you're not a criminal, and police knock and announce their presence, you're probably not going to go for your gun.
If there was some justification that it was safer, even for officers, I wouldn't be against them, but they just seriously increase the risk of gunfire.
Also St. Paul did not feel the need to ask for a no knock warrant initially. I'm not saying the dude they were after was some angel or anything, but they were the ones who know the most about the case.
But yes 🙏🙏🙏 to all involved unfortunately.
All I could think of was what if he was a father and had his child under the blanket with him. They woke him up out of his sleep and he did what anyone would do and that's grab his weapon. I'm sure he was confused and startled about what was happening. Rip to this young man.

I live in DFW, I've been hit by the north Texas / Tarrant county task force. Since when I was arrested, subsequently went to prison (2017 -2020) and now the task force operates entirely differently.
A friend of mine recently was arrested by the same task force with the same lead detective and they sat outside of his house for 4 hours on a bullhorn telling him to come outside. He eventually did go outside was calmly placed in handcuffs never put on the ground and is now awaiting his plea or trial.
I understand the warrant for police to apprehend suspects especially even in murder warrant cases and I have no ill will towards the police myself. The need to honestly increase funding towards the police so they can afford to have officers sit on a subject for a longer amount of time and have a peaceful resolution rather than defund the police which makes them have to bust down doors is what I see is a possible option.
This may be counterintuitive to a lot of people's thoughts that you know police are doing wrong things that are killing people so we need to stop giving them money, but if you think about it in terms of like education we give schools who are needing supplies or teachers money so that they can put out a better educational product, I feel like that may work with police. Because as Bruce a asked, why not sit on the subject and surveil? I guarantee the answer that will come is lack of manpower and funding for that style of resolution.
I said I have no ill will towards police as a whole and I honestly feel somewhat bad for the good police officers doing work trying to help people; but the Minneapolis Police department seems to repeatedly be in this situation which almost begs the question as to why them over the rest of the country. It may just be media but my perception has been that more innocent people having harmed/killed from Minneapolis/ St.Paul in the past six or seven years then there have been almost the entire nation.
Right. St. Louis police is not seen in the same light here that Minneapolis is there. StL policing is hampered by its Circuit Attorney sadly
The issue isn’t JUST defunding police. Management of funding these areas and people negatively impacted by poor conditions is the issue. But end of the day the issues we are dealing with are a capitalist problem more than anything. Heavy policing of the poor is always the answer Bc we refuse to see a different (and perhaps more effective) way of policing Bc it threatens the more well off. Things will get worse before they get better until we change as a nation.
Bruce. You don’t pull any bs. Great thoughts. Right on
I feel like it should also be included in the argument that anyone can say "search warrant" "police" .... I've first hand had people run up on me on the street acting like the police and they robbed me! So you know that goes all the way up the chain with the jackboys!! Until someone's clearly identified you don't really know if they're police or not‼️💯✌🏼
Sad just saw this video
I appreciate what you said on this YT channel. It means more then you know to hear someone of a diff race acknowledging what’s going on.I govern a school district of 20,000+ and we are majority black and it is something to think about …what about our children’s future if law enforcement is becoming more of a issue than solutions in some situations
Bruce you the Goat
THIS why I subscribe to your channel. Not so much the rap crap. ( I know I will probably be hated for saying this) Because you teach so much. Thank you so much!
Here we go again with Minneapolis polices anyway Amir Locke clearly gotten startled so he tried to grab his gun because he thought he was in danger. The police officers did announced themselves when coming in, but didn't say why are they here. It's sad to see Amir Locke die a few seconds later in this encounter when he wasn't even a suspect. There's always those police officers that shoot first without asking any questions. For example, all they could've said was "We are police officers from such and such can you please tell me you're name." Also, why couldn't these police officers just say "We are looking for this particular person who is our suspect" when coming inside the home. RIP Amir Locke I hope he get some type of justice.
I doubt he heard a word of what those officers were yelling at him. Like 5 people screaming at him. Waking up having multiple people screaming at you and pointing flashlights at you? I wouldn't understand for one bit what the hell was going on.
I don’t even think he tried to grab his gun. He was literally just waking up.
Attorney here, these issues are hard. No knock search warrants are great and terrible at the same time. The problem is like the counselor said “destroying evidence” and to add when they knock it alerts the individual. If they are of belief they’re going away no matter what it’s not a mystery how they’re going to react. But at the same time with this issue I don’t care how much risk the officers are at risk if it’s a homicide warrant, you can’t go in and just shoot. I understand if he is wanted for homicide (not talking about this specific case I know this wasn’t the man the warrant was for) so it’s high risk but this is really hard to judge. There are points on both sides but a life was taken at the end of the day.
I think the biggest problem for me is like Mr. Rivers states, it’s related to training which I personally and professionally agree with. The issue is the more the media trashes cops the less people want to be cops, the less people want to be officers the more you have to pay those officers. Law enforcement is not an occupation we want to get people into because of the pay. This is how you’ll see “bad cops” the media is talking about but the media is also ironically causing this by making the occupation undesirable. To relate this back to training these media platforms and democrats pushing defund the police is cutting spending when the budget is cut at the salary is on the rise it results in less training because of the lack of budget and the money that is in the budget has to go to salary or no one would take the job.
This is a joke, right? You can't seriously be blaming the media for bad cops, as if police corruption and malfeasance just popped into existence after the King beating.
@@krismckasson I don’t believe she’s blaming the media for bad cops, but he is blaming the media for portraying the cops occupation in general as bad.
@@SayelorYT No, I think they were directly claiming that the reason why we have bad cops is because the media is making it less desirable and thus less qualified applicants become cops. As if this hasn't happened in since the media started covering it or how it takes more training to become a barber than a cop. If they are an attorney they need better critical thinking skills.
@@krismckasson why would I joke about such a serious topic? Tell me the last time you saw a positive police interaction on ANY media network I’ll wait. You know how many positive police encounters there are every single year? Millions upon millions.
Disagree with me if you want, I can respect your opinion but in my profession and person opinion it seems rather obvious.
Why would anyone want to get into law enforcement to be ridiculed for walking down the street? That media you’re giving a pass on finds 1 of 30 police encounters that’s negative in literally anyway then make the cop out to be the bad guy through editing.
When someone goes into law enforcement for pay what do you expect? All those good officers that want to make a difference don’t want to be an officer now because a cop walks down the road and somehow media says they did something wrong.
Impressive how you spun this murder into how the democrats are bad but you know damn well the republicans are going to blame the victim. I'm not even American and exactly know how this is going to play out.
If cops cannot handle being on edge, they are not emotionally qualified to be in that position.
They literally are tought to be on edge. Training says "what's the number one thing we need to do every time we go out? Our own safety"
Fuck, this is tragic.
Regardless of anything else, he was set up to lose.
I hope his family can find justice and he can rest easy. Feels like an execution.
@@rdv217 from the sounds of it this house had no connection with the guy. He wasn’t hanging out in his place with a criminal. It was someone who knew a criminal, the cops obtained a no knock warrant, busted a totally innocent man’s door in, startled him awake, then shot him in bed.
It’s tragic.
Set up to lose, what is the win then shooting police?
They just murdered him 😭😭😭😭
Sorry I was heated in my first comment. Watching Bruce fighting back tears at the end of this really shook me
I am going to point out, what I ALWAYS find in these circumstances - WHY do cops all have to shout at the same time, do they seriously think a person inside understands a word they are saying???? Its all shouting and no clear statement!! I have found this to be the case every singe time I see these warrants !!!!! WHAT IS THE POINT??? Why have a dozen people shouting at different times!! They can't even be in concert when they shout their warnings. I would never work out who the heck they are by hearing all that shouting!!!!
Perhaps they should consider who is inside more and think less about the evidence that they might lose??? It is THAT important to lose some powder???? Turning up when everyone is asleep in not the best idea either. Waking from sleep to lots of people shouting IS GOING to have some chaos and this sort of consequences!!!
yøu said it’s been happening a lot these past 3 or 4 years when really it’s been going on for 100 years + it’s just now getting to the point to where any average person can see it happen on youtube & they feel some type of way about seeing it which is what makes it the bigger deal
referring to the victim as a suspect is evil
I know MN specific videos aren’t as popular as depp v heard, but I would love more videos discussing Minneapolis police, your opinions and what we could do better.
Tell em Bruce!!!
You are absolutely right when you said we need to train officers better. They need to fundamentally rethink how to do their jobs. Officers in japan are great examples of how police officers should act, but honestly it needs to start with better training
The cops in Japan are very corrupt and they have such a high prosecution rate because they put innocent ppl in jail all the time. They are not shining examples of what a cop should be at all.
We definitely have a gun problem in this country. I work for a printing company and every year we print millions of instruction manuals for new guns being made for a very popular gun manufacturer. There should be a limit on how many guns these gun companies can make a year. Hopefully that would slow down easy access for the wrong people.
There’s a lot more guns that people in the country you can halt production 100% and it still wouldn’t make an appreciable difference the only way it’s going to get better is by keeping repeat offenders off the streets and implementing better way’s to rehabilitate people in the system.
Surround yourself with good people 🙏
There was a classic one (where I’m so glad the guy didn’t get killed) where the cops went to the wrong house. Pointed their guns lasers at a man. Then the man fired a warning shot thinking he’s getting burglarized. Then they beat him, break into his house, and charge him. He was eventually found not guilty by a jury but wtf. That’s the thing police need to announce themselves. Otherwise they may think they’re burglars. This is the wrong way to do all of this. Also why is it every time the cops go to the wrong house all of a sudden the real person who needed help stops existing? Every time. They’ll go to the wrong house, NOT LEAVE, then ignore the original call
ONLY way to deal with this is exactly how MALCOLM X would do it. Enough of sitting and waiting for sh1t change! Too bad he didn't have a drum!
No knock warrants should be abolished and our police force should be retrained as a non military force. Alot would go into that, but that's what needs to happen.
Minneapolis has legit learned and done nothing!!
You’re not even safe in YOUR OWN home, ALA Bothom Jean. Who wouldn’t grab their licensed firearm if you thought someone was breaking in with flashlights shining in your eyes in the middle of the night?!?
Keep them coming Bruce 😎👍
It hasn’t been just the last 3-4 years. The general public is just finally hearing about it…
Here's a horrible story from Australia:
A kid at school told me his mum was driving through outback Queensland in the 1970s and she hit an Aborigine with her car and he was killed.
She drove to the next town, distraught, and reported it to the cops. They all laughed and offered her money for 'doing them a favour.' Yep.
The 1970s weren't all that long ago. Australia has a long tradition of ingrained police brutality.
Fun fact, if you injure a cop, they lose their job because of liability reasons.
this is really a difficult question?
I do not know what to do further
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH 🙏FROM 🇸🇳
So senseless and sad. When will this stop SMH. Prayers for his family 🙏🏾. Police that murder like this for no reason need to be held accountable for their actions. Shame on that police department for walking out of the press conference, the know it was a senseless murder and they don't want to own up to it.
That was straight up Murder, Smh!! Hope the family sue and gets Justice
It's crazy that mistakes like this are allowed.
It's funny they call it a no knock warrant when the first thing they do is knock the door down...
Exactly right, just do a stake out. Whose apartment is it, who else was there, who specifically were they looking for? Until the eighties, cops were not QUITE as given to the "shoot first, ask questions later" approach to apprehension. The Southern Police Institute that was in Louisville KY (home of Brianna Taylor) had the operating philosophy of teaching law enforcement with the emphasis on human service - that's a far cry from today! Police departments are generally more professional, with more requirements for dealing with suspects and the public in general than than in those days - and those old days cops were not without some pretty bad behavior, but it was not the militaristic, damn near "bad guy behind every tree" mentality of today!
They walked out the press conference….they be knowing they dead ass wrong and that’s crazy
