@@paintdrinker455 It isn't that simple because even if you revolt and oust the current government and police then you will have to replace it with another one and then that new government and police will have its own problems and flaws. A classic example of this is the russian revolution and the ousting of the Romanov family.
If you don't have any government or police then society will regress into anarchy which, unlike some people paint it to be, is not so pretty because it just means more poverty, famine, violence, stealing, murder, r*pe, etc. There are evil people at the top but also there are evil people all over in society so they will all just come crawling out the woodwork at once.

Since if the police has to bust a house down on drug crimes no way the criminals have enough time to flush many drugs down the drain and if they don't have lot's of drugs it probably is such a small scale crime that it doesn't need to have a warrant in the first place.     - implies the deceased shot first, when he didn't;
    - says the deceased pointed his weapon at the officers, which he didnt; and
    - refers to the deceased as "the suspect" when in fact he was an innocent man napping on his couch under a blanket.
The individual officers had no lawful right to shoot him, and if their department believed in upholding the law it wouldn't be trying to cover their asses.

I work in the airplane industry. I wish every industry, including the police, behaved like the aerospace industry does when it comes to incidents. The goal, even if a pilot made an enormously negligent mistake, is to figure out ways to mitigate that mistake through improving training, communication, the selection process, maintenance, engineering & design etc. In the US, if you are involved in an incident, you will have to stand in front of the NTSB and the FAA and justify every decision you made second by second. Even if the incident is minor with no losses, changes can still roll out to the industry to prevent more serious incidents in the future. The police do nothing like this. They need a police version of these large outside regulations where every time an officer is involved in an incident above a certain severity, the involved officers and the department have to explain themselves to a third party with the power to strip their standing.
Another thing that would be less popular is that the aerospace industry doesn't take these incidents as being the cause of an individual. They look at everything that led up to a negligent decision and take on the responsibility as a whole to do better. Look at Tenerife where one pilot made an egregious error, it still altered training, time pressures, CRM (basically the crew dynamic), how takeoff clearance is communicated, and the airport built ground radar so the tower could better moniter plane locations during poor weather.
If we went through incidents in the US over just the last year and used those to create nationwide police regulations, things could get better. Especially if most officers, training schools, and departments could shift toward an attitude of using each incident to incrementally improve themselves.

I worked with medics who's first comment to Brionna T's murder was to mention she stole something and lost her job as a result. So she deserved what she had coming, and we medics shouldn't feel for her like one of ours.

Now, if you're a gun owner, and somebody kicks in your doors (and your not a criminal) you're going to assume an intruder has broken in, and (as you should) protect yourself by any means necessary.
This means officers can get shot, and the innocent home owner will be shot to pieces.
If you're not a criminal, and police knock and announce their presence, you're probably not going to go for your gun.

I live in DFW, I've been hit by the north Texas / Tarrant county task force. Since when I was arrested, subsequently went to prison (2017 -2020) and now the task force operates entirely differently.
A friend of mine recently was arrested by the same task force with the same lead detective and they sat outside of his house for 4 hours on a bullhorn telling him to come outside. He eventually did go outside was calmly placed in handcuffs never put on the ground and is now awaiting his plea or trial.
I understand the warrant for police to apprehend suspects especially even in murder warrant cases and I have no ill will towards the police myself. The need to honestly increase funding towards the police so they can afford to have officers sit on a subject for a longer amount of time and have a peaceful resolution rather than defund the police which makes them have to bust down doors is what I see is a possible option.
This may be counterintuitive to a lot of people's thoughts that you know police are doing wrong things that are killing people so we need to stop giving them money, but if you think about it in terms of like education we give schools who are needing supplies or teachers money so that they can put out a better educational product, I feel like that may work with police. Because as Bruce a asked, why not sit on the subject and surveil? I guarantee the answer that will come is lack of manpower and funding for that style of resolution.
I said I have no ill will towards police as a whole and I honestly feel somewhat bad for the good police officers doing work trying to help people; but the Minneapolis Police department seems to repeatedly be in this situation which almost begs the question as to why them over the rest of the country. It may just be media but my perception has been that more innocent people having harmed/killed from Minneapolis/ St.Paul in the past six or seven years then there have been almost the entire nation.

The police officers did announced themselves when coming in, but didn't say why are they here. It's sad to see Amir Locke die a few seconds later in this encounter when he wasn't even a suspect. There's always those police officers that shoot first without asking any questions. For example, all they could've said was "We are police officers from such and such can you please tell me you're name." Attorney here, these issues are hard. No knock search warrants are great and terrible at the same time. The problem is like the counselor said “destroying evidence” and to add when they knock it alerts the individual. If they are of belief they’re going away no matter what it’s not a mystery how they’re going to react. But at the same time with this issue I don’t care how much risk the officers are at risk if it’s a homicide warrant, you can’t go in and just shoot. I understand if he is wanted for homicide (not talking about this specific case I know this wasn’t the man the warrant was for) so it’s high risk but this is really hard to judge. There are points on both sides but a life was taken at the end of the day.
I think the biggest problem for me is like Mr. Rivers states, it’s related to training which I personally and professionally agree with. The issue is the more the media trashes cops the less people want to be cops, the less people want to be officers the more you have to pay those officers. Law enforcement is not an occupation we want to get people into because of the pay. This is how you’ll see “bad cops” the media is talking about but the media is also ironically causing this by making the occupation undesirable. To relate this back to training these media platforms and democrats pushing defund the police is cutting spending when the budget is cut at the salary is on the rise it results in less training because of the lack of budget and the money that is in the budget has to go to salary or no one would take the job.

As if this hasn't happened in since the media started covering it or how it takes more training to become a barber than a cop. If they are an attorney they need better critical thinking skills.

@@krismckasson why would I joke about such a serious topic? Tell me the last time you saw a positive police interaction on ANY media network I’ll wait. You know how many positive police encounters there are every single year? Millions upon millions.
Disagree with me if you want, I can respect your opinion but in my profession and person opinion it seems rather obvious.
Why would anyone want to get into law enforcement to be ridiculed for walking down the street? That media you’re giving a pass on finds 1 of 30 police encounters that’s negative in literally anyway then make the cop out to be the bad guy through editing.
When someone goes into law enforcement for pay what do you expect? All those good officers that want to make a difference don’t want to be an officer now because a cop walks down the road and somehow media says they did something wrong.

I am going to point out, what I ALWAYS find in these circumstances - WHY do cops all have to shout at the same time, do they seriously think a person inside understands a word they are saying???? Its all shouting and no clear statement!! I have found this to be the case every singe time I see these warrants !!!!! WHAT IS THE POINT??? Why have a dozen people shouting at different times!! They can't even be in concert when they shout their warnings. I would never work out who the heck they are by hearing all that shouting!!!!
Perhaps they should consider who is inside more and think less about the evidence that they might lose??? It is THAT important to lose some powder???? Turning up when everyone is asleep in not the best idea either. Waking from sleep to lots of people shouting IS GOING to have some chaos and this sort of consequences!!!

We definitely have a gun problem in this country. I work for a printing company and every year we print millions of instruction manuals for new guns being made for a very popular gun manufacturer. There should be a limit on how many guns these gun companies can make a year. Hopefully that would slow down easy access for the wrong people.

There’s a lot more guns that people in the country you can halt production 100% and it still wouldn’t make an appreciable difference the only way it’s going to get better is by keeping repeat offenders off the streets and implementing better way’s to rehabilitate people in the system.

There was a classic one (where I’m so glad the guy didn’t get killed) where the cops went to the wrong house. Pointed their guns lasers at a man. Then the man fired a warning shot thinking he’s getting burglarized. Then they beat him, break into his house, and charge him. He was eventually found not guilty by a jury but wtf. That’s the thing police need to announce themselves. Otherwise they may think they’re burglars. This is the wrong way to do all of this. Also why is it every time the cops go to the wrong house all of a sudden the real person who needed help stops existing? Every time. They’ll go to the wrong house, NOT LEAVE, then ignore the original call

Here's a horrible story from Australia:
A kid at school told me his mum was driving through outback Queensland in the 1970s and she hit an Aborigine with her car and he was killed.
She drove to the next town, distraught, and reported it to the cops. They all laughed and offered her money for 'doing them a favour.' Yep.
The 1970s weren't all that long ago. Australia has a long tradition of ingrained police brutality.

Exactly right, just do a stake out. Whose apartment is it, who else was there, who specifically were they looking for? Until the eighties, cops were not QUITE as given to the "shoot first, ask questions later" approach to apprehension. The Southern Police Institute that was in Louisville KY (home of Brianna Taylor) had the operating philosophy of teaching law enforcement with the emphasis on human service - that's a far cry from today! Police departments are generally more professional, with more requirements for dealing with suspects and the public in general than than in those days - and those old days cops were not without some pretty bad behavior, but it was not the militaristic, damn near "bad guy behind every tree" mentality of today!
