In this one, I share what my inspiration has been for this year's Fall Decor and then we do a decorate with me on the mantel and hearth! Everything looks so beautiful. You're a wonderful decorator. I love that you decorate the way you like it and you aren't following the crowd and doing exactly what they're doing. I've been watching so many videos this week and everyone is saying exactly the same words like this year I've decided to scale back and not decorate as much. Then they say I'm not doing the traditional fall decor. I've decided to do more neutral pale tones with touches of natural elements. All that is okay but I feel like they're all following the leader whoever that is. I decorate to please myself and my family. I feel like someone who decorates with their heart and what pleases them and makes their eyes happy is a true decorator. Being true to yourself is what matters. I love how you decorate. You have true talent. ❤

Your mantel is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I agree completely, decorate the way that makes you happy! "They" may say signs are out but I'm still going to use them, especially porch signs I absolutely LOVE them and sooooo many homes in our subdivision have them as well.

Hi Arlynn, I just subscribed to your channel. I love that painting your Mother-in-law painted! I got married in Jan of 1976. So that spoke to me. I have a painting from my momma's side of the family that was probab,y from the 1800s. It's a ghostly pale lady in a blue dress. She gas jet black hair with a yellow ribbon in it. I remember it hung over my parent's bed when I was a little girl. It hangs in my dining room now. Momma passed away almost 10 yrs ago. She went to have a simple office procedure done and never woke up. My daddy was totally lost. He was alone in the huge house we all grew up in. He is 89 yrs old now and is still in that house. My youngest sister sold her house & moved in with him to take care of the house, yard & pool. He still drives, works 4 days a week at the food pantry at our church. He seems to be doing well outside of many skin cancers that he has been having removed from as far back as when my kids were little. I also watch Life with Joe & Maryann. So we have a lot in common. You did a great job with your hearth & mantel. I am cha going things up at my house this year. I had stopped decorating for many years but now have 2 grandkids that are with me most days. So I have started decorating again. It's still summer down here so I won't start my decorating for another month yet. Summer is my favorite season! I prefer the 90° Temps & my feet in the pool, lake or ocean! School started August 1st down here and that is way too early for me! I do not like Halloween but the grandkids do, so I will dabble in that for about 6 weeks & then put up the rest of my fall. Then we move into Christmas just before Thanksgiving. It suits me because I go to my daddy's for Thanksgiving. He is in SC & I'm in Atlanta. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your decorations! HUGS~Donna

The painting is gorgeous. What a great job. I love the Cinderalla pumpkin and that basket behind the picturevon the harth just sets it off. Beautiful mantel. Love seeing you use the Fall colors.❤❤❤. The strip lighting on the mantel really reflexs the painting and everything else up there. I love the Fall and start craving it come June.

Love the jewelry. I too normally have white gold but sometimes switch to yellow gold. Looks very nice on you. The mantle and hearth look so great. I particularly love the painting.
I just found LA Ribbons and crafts as they have 2 1/2” wired ribbon double sided prints! Think these would make beautiful wreath arrangements!

I think it will look beautiful over your ‘Ivy’ table in years to come too! It so true about people knock us about decorating early. I love it! Your home should make you happy! What a special time of year as we gather together to put that up. 1976? I'm from 1976 & the theme seemed to be heavy on the Bicentennial that year. Maybe the contest could have had a relation to that.

Arlynn, I had to chuckle when you said the year Chris's dad painted that Gorgeous picture. In 1976 I graduated high school. It is Difently a family item to cherish. You are so blessed to have so much of your family's items. They are all beautiful items and to be able to look at them and remember all the memories is Priceless I do like the mirror without the wreath, its a change and it reflects your Gorgeous staircase. Mantel looks perfect and so does everything else.. Its nice to be able to change up styles of decorating . I also decorate in what ever makes me happy, my problem is I need to cut back on some things I use. I have so much and I feel if I don't use it all its not that holiday without it. Does that make since. If I were 20 yrs younger I'd have a couple of rooms built on to my house to put all my seasonal decorations. My house is a 2500 sq.ft ranch. 😁 Maybe a big family room 😉 See you next week, have a Blessed weekend.💕
