I love all of the different stylings shown, as there is something for everyone. It’s fun that you used both items from your own home and your moms. This is a great reminder to shop your home. I love that really long wooden bowl with the dried artichoke’s. Personally, I would steal that.😎

I live across the river in Vancouver WA but am very familiar with Troutdale and the falls. In fact just drove through there on Saturday! This was a fun video - mantel styling is one of my faves but I agree it can be challenging with the narrow space.

I have a hideous fireplace inside a condo built in 1982..total nightmare..however, style #1 will resuscitate the fireplace mantle for sure so that's my upcoming project..thank you for your inspiration 🙂

I have a similar size mantle to your mum, and you've given me some brilliant ideas. I especially liked the putting two complimentary vases together - my high ceilings need this kind of impact. I already do the candlestick thing, and books and artwork but there's definitely room for improvement. I can't chose which design I love the most so I'll have to do them all as the months go by. mirror and mantle combo as my base. I've been moving stuff on and off my setup for weeks - but. I could put the literal Mona Lisa up there, and, guaranteed, it would look boring and wrong. This vid offered several truths I really needed - height variance, softening w stems, the color black, adding maybe one pleasant color, like green - and more. This was so great!!!

My mantel has always been a challenge…96” long x 4” wide! Below mantel is a fireplace next to a tv built in cabinet [all unified by cabinets). I follow RH design principles but hard to find a good look I can live with!

@@Hannah_naylor_ that’s a lot of white space. I’ve been treating it like a ledge vs a mantel, so I have a leaning canvas in the middle flanked by 2 iron hurricane sconces from PB. That takes up about 4 feet. On top of that my ceilings are standard 8’. Ugh….
My tv is above my mantle so it restricts me with what I can put on it. I always struggle with decorating it. I usually end up with some books and a candle. Enjoyed this video as I do all of your videos. Your the best!!!

I love them all. I missed having a fireplace mantel. Hopefully in our next house we can have one. We downsized almost two years ago and we have been renting. We are starting to look for a home so I’m super excited. We didn’t know where we wanted to leave, but we have made a decision so I’m so ready to have a home of our own once again. 😊
