I worked for US Military as a civilian, Americans give detailed directions:

My head starts spinning when I’m given instructions like this because I can’t process it at all😂😂 you need to tell me if I’m going left or right or up/down and how many corners to count and time it will take me to get there. That’s all I can take it

with cars packing outside it depends where you are from in SA, I am from Alex JHB, where it is known to be dangerous, "obviously by people who do not live there" my car is parked on the street every night, it might be because we know each other, it is a very small township so no one will take your car, actually it is very safe, they only steal cars in Sandton, and they justify it by saying "redistribution of wealth"
That makes sense. I guess these are our lived experiences and thus this perspective.

I would absolutely recommend traveling to other parts of the world.
@@rebeccam.7249 that would depend on a number of things. I would say that it would probably be safer if you familiarise yourself with the country prior to your arrival and maybe make friends (socials) too
