Mimir is like if your therapist was also your bro.
Mayeur000Donz
After fighting a Valkyrie:
Kratos: "It will be dangerous."
Mimir: "Well that hasn't stopped you before has it?"
Kratos: *Angrily groaning*
Mimir: "That's the spirit."
Just some guy yeah Mimir is just the Yin to contrast and balance Kratos’ Yang personality
Mayeur000Donz I NEED HIM AS MY THERAPIST
Xx UltraGaming xX I would love it if he was mine
I remember a scene from the room about this therapist being friend with the main character
Imagine that kratos goes back to Greece to find out that it's now part of the Roman Empire, and all the gods he killed are back again but with dumb names like Uranus and Pluto
But seriously, imagine that. Kratos lost everything again and go back to commit suicide, then he finds out all of the gods that he have killed are back, more powerful and wanting revenge.
That seem impossible since they use name Hercules for Hercules fight
Just Noob and about the other name that Hercules have? He is also Heracules
Zanny Christto pretty sure his name doesn't had "u" in it...
@@justnoob8141 Brazilian here, sorry
I love how Mimir isn’t terrified of Kratos when he learns he’s the Ghost of Sparta, he just geeks out like the Scottish equivalent of a nerd.
Technically.... Scottish nerd.
If our conjecture is correct and he is Puck, that is.
Given how Mimir stated in his many stories that he's traveled to different lands (he himself is Scottish), it is very likely that he heard the stories told of the Ghost of Sparta who slew the Olympians.
It's kinda like how in Marvel, you heard stories of the Unkillable Mutant called "The Wolverine". and then you meet a grumpy old dude named Logan who turns out to be this legendary warrior who killed everything that stood in his way.
...you would geek out, too.
Someone who murdered an entire pantheon and destroyed his world would be a rockstar by Aesir standards.
I mean he kinda does. 'Bollocks brother, *respectfully* bollock'
Well you would geek out if your with the guy who killed the most powerful gods in his world that might end up killing your god eventually
“Never go there, understand?”
“Got it. Only go there in the sequel.”
“What?”
“What?”
If this were Kratos before this game, he wouldn't ignored Mimir... well assuming if his goal in Hel was to get revenge anyway.
Goes there with Boy.
@Karvakulmio Not if his goal was to save Atreus.
Karvakulmio dying lmaoooo
Not only does he go there, HE FUCKING FLIES THERE WHILE FIGHTING A AESIR GOD IN THE AIR WITH HIS SON. God of War doesn't only do things, they go above and beyond what we expect.
Expectation: We have to go there at one point either this game or the sequel by crossing the bridge
Reality: FLY AND CRASH INTO A SHITHOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AREA AND MAKE A BOAT FLY WHILE TEACHING YOUR SON HOW NOT TO BE AN ASSHOLE
I love how mimir is so excited he is pretty much saying we finally have someone who can bring down Thor and Odin
Sean Donnelly pretty much

Kratos will kill The Big Idiot Sweaty Bawbag Fat Dobber Thor and The Ruthless Bastard Odin
I think he wont but atreus will
@@virtualy2635 he will tho... The game is literally about Kratos sooo... Yea
Mimir: "Don't mistake me brother. From what I heard the Pantheon had it coming."
Biggest understatement of the year!!! :)
TemplarHunter001 I mean, yes, but at the same time, it was also Kratos fault too. Like, 60% Kratos fault. Besides, had it coming or not, was their deaths really worth the end of the world?
Mercury Black yup for our fun, it was
SkyZgone Fair enough. Mostly meant from a narrative standpoint though
Mercury Black I disagree. The gods used him for years and years to do their dirty bidding promising to erase his sins.
GyariSan1 Not really. Kratos made a deal with Ares that he'd be his faithful servant and do Ares bidding if Ares gave Kratos the strength to do his bidding. So really, Kratos was only honoring his part of the deal when Ares tricked him into killing his family. Kratos wanted power, damn the consequences. Once he had the power and suffered the consequences he decided "fuck honoring a deal i made" and went forward to destroy the world. At the end of 1 all he wanted was to die. At the start of 2 he got his wish as Zeus killed him, only for Kratos to want revenge for Zeus fufilling Kratos's wish. Kratos is a raging madman that just want to blame everyone else for his mistakes, to Tartaros with the consequences and the people that suffers because of him
"Never go there" lol, this dude came out of tartarus twice and out of the underworld thrice.
Vault Boy 76 He had help crawling out of the underworld the first 2 times, he did the third by himself, and climbed out of Tartarus by himself as well, and the help he received was minimal he did the fighting out of the underworld by himself.
Edward Arroyo still . Coming out of Hell multiple times is a great feat
MTSmash Gamer07 I know that, I imagine you meant to respond to the guy saying Kratos had help?
@@amanpreetgill7564 once if you want to be exact, he didn't cross the bridge of the damned the first time and its not like they have anyone trying to stop them from getting into helheim, they got a portal for people to go there, as mimir and freya said, the real problem is when he crosses the bridge, which he only did once
Well only Zues, Hades and Hermis can get out of the underworld like nothing, Yes Kratos was kill 2 times and recieve help to get out of the underworld but still that's amazing specially a 3rd time when he did it alone and go to tartarus without getting lost and returning back from the horrors.
"Never go there... Understand?"
God of War 5 - running fast as Hel into that fog
Well you do go to the Bridge of the Damned for the second time.
We go there. It’s the area where you get on the boat
GoW5 we gonna fight Thor- wonder how easy or hard that’ll be.
@Matt from Wii Sports Probably going to fight Odin as well
@KenAlpha1 It would be cool to have Mjolnir as a trophy after fighting Thor

And the way he says 'What is that place?' You can hear the fear in his voice.
I know Terrence worked a different script but man oh man it was almost painful to listen too sometimes, and especially in 3. I'm sure glad there was non of that cheesy shit in this one.

@@henriquegalindo9659 Very true, I would stay in the boat to let him finish his stories.
@@henriquegalindo9659 it was a good feature. Gave you exposition and gave you some incite to this Norse universe and gives kratos someone to bounce off of and learn more about himself
Yeah, great decision. The average player can be expected to be aware of who Zeus, Ares or Hercules are. But i doubt the average player could be expected to know name like Skadi or Modi or even Mimir. So Mimir's inclusion was both perfect and necessary

@@solidadsoriano9235 i'd like to imagine he'd just become a witty talking skull. If the usual method didn't work, why would something as stupid as rot do him in?
Baldur is an excellent villain. Honestly better than Atreus. Maybe not Mimir but he’s close.
My favorite part of this entire exchange is when Kratos asks “what is that place” and mimir doesn’t answer the question but instead simply says “never go there” and Kratos is happy with that answer because those are the answers he gives and the ones he like receiving. He didn’t need a detailed explanation, he just wanted to know whether what he was seeing required action or not. The little details like this really make this game special
Those are questions Atreus would like to be answered, and this shown how Kratos trust Mimir
it's funny cause this is how actual spartans preferred to converse. there are many funny historical incidents behind it.

I love that this means The Ghost of Sparta traversed realms. His story was passed amongst the Gods like ghost stories.
The Egyptian Gods were probably the first ones to spread it around. They're just a hop and a skip away to the south of the Mediterranean.
Hell, they probably had the best view of it. Imagine being Ra or one of the other Gods and you look across the sea only to notice Greece is smothered by dark clouds, the sea has risen and swallowed hundreds of cities and the motherfucking Titans are climbing Mount Olympus while Kratos is busy tearing the Gods limb from limb with his bare hands. I wouldn't be surprised if they went full panic mode and guarded their land for ages until they were sure Kratos was gone.
Yeah actually how did kratos cross into the realm of midgard. Does that mean that all the other gods like the agyptian gods also have a realm that the gods in midgard are aware of?
@@maggoteater2290 God of War: Fallen God confirms it. Kratos is visited by Thoth when he lives in Egypt for a while. There are definitely multiple pantheons out there that GOW 4 already pretty much confirmed when they visited the inside of Týr's Temple and found all of his gifts from foreign lands. Mimir also showed knowledge of Greece and it's pantheon so that means that each Pantheon does at least acknowledge each other.
@@thewhompingwampa2671 but now i am even more interested who the strongest leader is. Odin vs zeus would be epic
@@maggoteater2290 with what we saw in GOW Ragnarok, Zeus seems to be more powerful AT least when it comes to ‘political’ power, he reigned the entirety of the Greek Land and was the king of all Gods, Odin on here seems to be more like king of the Aesir and somewhat of midgard, but the other Norse lands doesn’t really respect him or treat him as their king, most realms have their different Gods (like Freya) and rulers. At least I feel Zeus had more power over the Greek Land than Odin has over the 9 realms
Hel l will probably the last battle arena for this GOW series.. having to deal with your past is a way to move forward.
Mimir : "I can assure you im unsurpassed in keeping confidences"
..during the game he literally tells Kratos all of Tyr secrets...lol
haroo86 Tyr’s dead, so his confidentiality contract is voided.
Tristan Bigornia : very bad idea to do so, it could help Odin find Jotunheim.
Remember that Mimir is the smartest character in the game, he does what he does for good reason. Tyr didn't tell him the secrets, he discovered them with Kratos.
Basically if you're dead or a betrayer then you're owed shit all.
Maybe it's because Kratos is Tyr. So technically he'd be still keeping the secret ;).
idk i dont even know what im typing, i read somewhere people were thinking he would become Tyr by traveling to the past or something.
"Never go there. Understand?" - Man you dont know Kratos AT ALL
Every sane person: Kratos no!
Kratos: KRATOS YES
There is, however, a big difference between Hades and Hel.
While Hades is more of a bottleneck river for souls to pour down into, Hel is a realm that actively prevents its dwellers, visitors and condemned from ever escaping. Hela doesnt even control her own realm, since its more like part of her like an organ; you use and possess organs, but cannot directly control them. Even if Hela were to desire Kratos' escape, she couldn't ever let him do so because her realm is created to keep the tormented in and never let anything out. Only Odin would be able to escape, but he wouldnt be so keen to even dare try.
@@Peusterokos1 *Kratos turns red and starts punching giant bird* Hel "fuck alright, get out of here! Jeez!"
It doesn't seem Kratos himself wants to go there either, though they do end up there, but not by choice.
@@Peusterokos1 Wouldn't Hela allow Kratos to escape? He's literally Her grandfather.
At least in this game, Kratos has someone to "share" about his problems unlike the previous ones...

The fact they made this world understand and be familiar with Kratos's world, is just beyond outstanding!
Mimir knows who Kratos is because mimir is the smartest man alive, that doesnt mean odin or anyone else knows who kratos is, or what he has done
Jack The Ripper Freya knows somewhat of Kratos story and him being a god
ik this is 4 years but i also like it because, it never explains how kratos got there but if they know of him, then the idea that he's just there kinda works cause its not as "universe-oriented thing" its a universe expanded different lands kinda thing.
I wonder what the consequences of the Greek Pantheon being destroyed did to the other realms. Are we to deduce that everything that transpired in the Greek Mythos was exclusive in its realm? Meaning that the gods and the fates etc. only have power within their realm and mythos? Since every realm has a different story of creation etc, i would assume so.
Hmm yeah but if that's true kratos is also part of the Greek realm and he still has power outside of it, unless it only applies to full blooded pure gods, not sure how they are meaning for it to work but I think it makes sense to because zues is clearly not the only god to control lightning,
Aaron Faulkes him retaining his powers and durability i think is a testament that greek gods can visit other realms and retain their power. Albeit weaker. I think they are aware of each others existence too. Existing but in two different times, function of times, and realms.
Yeah it all gets a little confusing I guess naturally they would be more powerful in their own lands and environment but hey we just gotta go with it for now
Actually from what Freya said a lot of the environmental stuff (endless winter dugur) was caused by it
She says something about people messing with powers beyond their control or understanding or something to that effect when you first met her. it came off to me as the death of the Greek gods has ramifications
James Nixon yeah that makes sense actually, the nods to the past were subtle but not so much that it didn't give you insight

According to the developers, all the others in the Greek pantheon were killed indirectly by Kratos’ actions: The cataclysm he unleashed when he killed the main Olympians did them in.
Also, from what I can gather, only Greece was devastated by his rampage. From Tyr’s vault, we can gather that in the centuries following this, the Greeks have been rebuilding. When he released the power of Hope, he allowed the survivors to recover.
I believe in the following installments, we’ll get further glimpses into other regions.
Funny enough by this time Greece is probably being invaded by the Romans

I like to think the other Gods know the Greek Gods were assholes! Lmao
I love that he doesn't judge Kratos for his past and accepts him as the man he is today, trying to turn over a new leaf to be a better man, god, and father. Great game.
Also helps that he’s like “eh, those other gods were assholes. Glad they’re gone.”
I think its really the fact that he got to experience things with Kratos and Atreus up to this point that helps with that. He's seen how much Kratos is fighting to change and be a better father and just wants to protect his son. Seeing how good of a person Atreus helps vouch for that since Kratos could've easily just let him because as bad as the Olympians or Aesir. I wonder how he'll react to Atreus' future though? Since, unlike the past that shapes you, Atreus will shape it and who he will become.

*Calls Kratos the ghost of Sparta*
*LOW KEY RAGE OF SPARTA BEGINS TO PLAY*
Well that title was an insult so far as I remember. It was given to him due to the color of his skin covered in the ashes of his family, it is a title that represents his cruelty.
@@markhunter3533 Yea, that's why he hates that title.
He still has his scar from Ghost Of Sparta aye?
FuZe BoMb well, he got that scar in childhood, he has it in all GoW games, obviously
And Also with the blade of olympus one from zeus in god of war 2 and in the third game where je stabbed himself
@@elvingallisalozada2046 And also when Ares used aimbot to impale Kratos.
@@comradethegreat3599 that too lol
@@comradethegreat3599 HAHAHAHHHHAHA
I love how much respect the “Ghost of Sparta” mention commands not only from Mimir, but from us.
We’ve been playing this franchise for more than a decade, Kratos is already a legend. And we know what he can do to those Aesir assholes 😁.
"Your father was Zeus? do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?"
I like to think of Mimir as one of Kratos's new friends...like i wish Kratos will someday or sometimes have long or just casual Talks/chats with him
"Zeus"
"Zeus?"
"My father"
"Your father was Zeus?"😂😂😂
I'm impressed that Mimir can still talk without lungs
Darkchainzz he can see him blow a big ass horn and talk with Jormangandr
I just imagine a little baby body in fetal position 😂
@@madara992, lmao.
Well I mean, he technically has all the air around him coming from his neck lol
his lungs is the 9 realms itself.
Kratos probably the weakest voice as he says zeus.
TyxoN you can tell how surprised he is it’s great acting
185th like and it's called being surprised.
When mimir realizes that he is dangling from his hip, he must have realized he is one of many heads dangled from Kratos's hip
1:52 I can definitely imagine Kratos going there in God of War Ragnarök (2022).
We already did go there
“From what I heard, the pantheon had it coming!”
Hell yeah they did! Does anyone realize how petty and pathetic they are? Even before Kratos popped open Pandora’s box they were slaughtering herds of people over disputes of control and they forced men and women to suffer either because they were famous or because of some stupid bets. The Iliad, the Odyssey? The rest of those Greek tragedies where gods forced men to prove their worth or come to some moral realization of something detrimental? The Greek gods toyed with mankind. Whoever wrote Kratos’ story is shedding light on the “what if” someone was done with the God’s bullshit and decided to go on a murder spree.
that quote makes no sense
Nonsense.
I am dangling from the hip of the bloody Ghost Of Spartaa !! 😂 - Lord Mimir
I love when he says "Zeus" he sounds shocked and maybe, just maybe a little bit scared. Not of Zeus, but perhaps of the person who he used to be
Ok we need a solo memir game
I love the voice acting of Kratos. The way he loses his stoic demeanor and his raspy voice when Zeus appears is brilliant.
2:38 10/10 voice acting 👌
“Well, you know where to find me”
Mimir is classic
If Mimir knows him, and possibly Odin too, then that means he's known universally. God damn Kratos you've made a name for yourself.
Multiversal technically
"im dangling from the hip From the bloody ghost of sparta"
*Biggest flex of mimir*
Love how he uses mimir as a arm rest.
“I’m dangling from the hip of the bloody Ghost of Sparta!” Mimir and his savage knowledge!
I've heard alot of people say kratos was evil. But I personally believe that much like the Greek gods themselves, morality is far more ambiguous than "good and bad" kratos was a man driven by ambition early on (after swearing allegiance to aries ♈) but still demonstrated care for his men and Sparta as a whole. He also loved his wife and daughter dearly seeing especially as he risked his life to get his daughter ambrosia to heal her sickness.
This compassion and empathy for those he deemed precious tempered his savagery and bloodlust, and after aries made kratos drown that little flicker of goodness with blood and rage it broke him. Imagine if someone did that to you guys? You devote your life and soul to someone and they make you butcher the only two people that you care for. (Not to mention what they did to his brother Deimos) it'd drive any man even one who was "good" far past the edges of sanity. (Am I over thinking this?; Probably..)
Yes, but you are right.
If you are going to understand the morality of a god just remember this: “There are no good gods boy”. This doesn’t necessarily mean that gods are evil, but it certainly doesn’t make them good. Gods don’t have morality, they do as they please.
This is what I've always thought about Kratos. His actions were never evil, he just didn't have any standards or moralities left standing to care anymore.
Kratos, as ironic as it is, is the best God humanity has ever had, having that He's saved them and gave them the power of hope.
Kratos' story closely mirrors that of Heracles. Jealousy at Zeus' infidelity drove the goddess Hera to induce a bloodlust frenzy on the illegitimate son, Heracles. Heracles murdered his entire family, and was made to atone for that sin by performing a series of impossible labors for the gods. And when he was done, he tried to kill himself, but was instead elevated into full godhood
It never gets old whenever The Greek Mythology gets mentioned
Atreus: father, why is your skin white.
Kratos: it's the ashes of my wife and daughter.
Atreus: ..........
You would think the skin and tattoo was a dead give away
He doesn't know *everything* about the world. He's just absurdly clever, and doesn't forget things unless forced to do so.
@@selonianth his knowledge is mainly limited to the 9 Realms
@@justdont3998 Except he's not even from them himself, he's from Ireland. And also... he knows what the Ghost of Sparta *is*. He just hadn't seen Kratos in person before.
@@selonianth Chances are, he heard bits and pieces about what happened to the Greek pantheon while travelling North, as he said he was doing after he left his first master (possibly Oberon)
"Don't mistake me brother. From what I heard the Pantheon had it coming." Mimir… You had no idea what a hellish place the Pantheon was. No day was complete unless someone was maimed, f^^ked by a god/monster/animal, or sentenced to a eternity of misery for making the gods angry. take a look at Medusa's origin story if you don't know what I mean
Don't forget about Prometheus, too.
@@comradethegreat3599 Ironic because Prometheus was actually the creator of humans in the original myth and he's the one that didn't got worship as a God
that qoute makes no sense
yeah yeah, all the fault was of the gods, kratos had no fault.
as if he didn't starts destorying entire entire greece as a spite towards the gods
"im dangling from the hip of the bloody *Ghost of Sparta* !"
Always makes me laugh
When Zeus appeared in Hel I about shit myself it gave me such chills as well as nostalgia from playing all the games years ago. Man this game was one of those "once in a decade"games!
I love how mimir fangirled a little when he connected the dots and figured who kratos was
When you realize that at 1:34 it's the only time you actually hear kratos's name being actually said in the whole game and it was mentioned by zeus of all characters
Not really. Freya calls him Kratos during the final battle.
The voice acting is amazing. You can feel the emotions from the voices.
I love the little hints & easter eggs about kratos passed culminatin here with mimirs dicsovery, & also how badass you gotta be for a whole other pantheon of gods to know about you
Mimir: I know you hate Gods, but you just can't stay away from them, can you?
Me: No. THEY can't stay away from HIM.
mimir figured out kratos was greek when he heard athena but at 1:43 it sounds like he never wouldve guessed he was the ghost of sparta
1:48 the quick temperament, the heavy breathing. That sounded like the Kratos of old😰. Hearing Zeus made him revert for a split second lol
I live how Mimir has a "holy shit" moment when he realizes Kratos is Zeus son.
