2025 FORD EXPLORER! The upgrades I've been waiting for

- I'm at the New York Auto Show and I am so excited to take a look at the newly refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer!
While this was just a mid cycle refresh, on the exterior we have a larger grill and sleeker headlights. The interior got a total overhaul though! This platinum edition looks sleek, fresh and lux! The new Explorer has some really fantastic standard features like heated seats, power tailgate and Ford Co Pilot 360.
I was very impressed with this refresh and can't wait to get my carseats and stroller in one in the future to really put it to the test!

Looks much nicer than previous explorers like you said. I like that the 3rd row is power seats to fold on their own and that there is some trunk space even with the 3rd row up!

I appreciate the videos, especially w/ car seats. Just recommend you also put a fwd facing car seat on 2nd row and try to access 3rd row with car seat installed so we can have a realistic idea of how the mechanics will work… God Bless you! 😘🙏💕💕💕
SO happy they put a bench in the second row for the higher trims. I want the luxury but need a second row bench and it’s so disappointing that car manufacturers don’t hardly do that.

My FAV midsize suv!!!
We have a 2022 ST. Love the changes up front with the landscape screen(ours has portrait) and the new location of the wireless charger. I’m disappointed they didn’t change the rear cup holders, they’re awful and won’t hold much more than a bottle of soda. Plus, whatever does fit tips easy, so it better be a closed container.
I was so excited I thought the Expedition was gonna be there 😭

I'd wait for the kinks to get worked out on the refresh model. Our 2020 need a new transmission before 100k😢 driver heated seat blown, navigation is funky and the infotainment can be wonky. The power and space is nice though
In terms of materials and trying to be plastic free as possible and scents etc. what car maker uses less plastic? Is that even a thing?
I saw the 2027 full redesign. Its going to look like an oversized Ford Escape with radical style.
Trying to pick between this and the 2025 Santa Fe. Thoughts? Super tall Dad, two kids in rear-facing car seats; need to be able to tow. Both of these seem like good options.
They are pretty similar, but the Explorer is definitely bigger and would probably be my pick for you! Also check out this blog- the rear facing car seats you use will make a big difference in your driver leg room.

I have the 2018 Ford Explorer Platinum and I like it for the most part. My main complaints are accessing the third row with the bench seat and my kid's car seats installed. You have to go through the trunk. However, what probably bugs me the most is the tiny fuel tank. For the power in this car (350 hp I believe) it really needs a larger fuel tank. I am constantly at the gas station. Literally every 4-5 days I have to fill up again! The infotainment section of this new one looks way nicer than in mine though! Love the little charging shelf

It’s great, except for the 3rd row seating! I want a Grand Explorer with a decent 3 passenger seating like the Grand Highlander! This is solely the reason why we’re considering buying the GH… if the 3rd row seats were comparable, I’d buy the Explorer…

I don’t think so.. it looks identical to my 22 trunk space!

Blue Cruise is good. While the interior is improved, it’s still a model that needs to be improved.
With Ford’s warranty problems, it’s simply not worth paying that price. Buy a Toyota Highlander.
Ford needs to let the public know that they are serious about innovation and quality.
Maybe offer a 7 year 75,000 mile bumper to bumper manufacturers warranty? Make it a Hybrid with the Hybrid Technology they use in their Escape. That’s what Toyota is doing.
It’s frustrating how they redecorate instead of innovate, especially when they have the technology in another vehicle.

I like the Chinese version. I was shocked on the touch screen, except it won't extend across like the Chinese version in 2023. Also, the taillights are confusing compared to the Chinese version..

The Explorer was the best selling midsize SUV last year in part because Grand Highlander cannibalized some Highlander sales. Highlander had been the midize SUV sales champ some previous years. Also last year there were almost a dozen compact SUVs that outsold the Explorer.
I love the flat wireless charging pad!!! My 2020 expedition wireless charging pad is slanted and literally my phone can’t sit at that angle to charge. Terrible design.
Yes, I love this too!! I have a 2020 Explorer and have issues all the time with mine, not to mention mine is behind the cup holders at the center console, like who thought that was a good place for it? 🤣

We buy Ford for their reliability. less recalls than honda pilot. The days of thinking only Toyota and Honda are reliable is outdated

families come in all shapes and sizes and minivans simply don't fit some lifestyles. ALSO, why should families be limited only to minivans? the entire point of my channel is to showcase cars from the perspective of a mom
@@TheCarMom True. I prefer the ride of an SUV. Minivans are great if I needed the absolute volume for people and cargo. But, SUVs are still a better lifestyle choice.
@@amandaadler1860 We drove many generations in Minnesota with rear wheel drive chevies, Buicks, etc that Grandma and Grandpa used to drive. Great grand parents, Model T's, A's. My parent's generations drove around southern MN in 80s/90s caravans just fine as well. I think our generation and this next generation forgot how to drive.
@@midwestfarm757 well I know a minivan won’t make it down my unplowed dirt road or my driveway with the 10-15” high drifts of snow. I can confidently say this because my neighbor had a Honda odyssey and got it stuck multiple times before trading it in for a used Tahoe. You do what you have to do to live in the country in Minnesota. Sometimes it takes 24 hours for the county to come plow our dirt road. I have plowed it myself with my little side by side Polaris many times in the middle of the night so my husband would make it home from his night shift in his Honda Pilot- since the county surely wouldn’t plow it in time for him. So thank you but I’ll stick with my F-150 Lightning and make it to school drop off on time. If I lived in town, I would be fine- those roads stay groomed and get plowed quickly.
