I love how these have changed over time. It feels like the kind benevolent overlord is finally starting to lose patience with my silly little human "needs". I expect next time they will just shove me into a filing cabinet for humans, plug me into a "Public Consumerist Venue Simulator" and just drain my life forces through a tube in my neck the old fashioned way.

molten salt reactors maybe? we don't know exactly when this series is set but technology has advanced enough for cryogenic stasis with seemingly no long-term problems, so msrs wouldn't be out of the question by any means. plus a whole bunch of ai in presumably mechanical bodies will need a lot of power
either that or they just really hate slugs/snails/demons/vampires depending on mythology
I had the same question in the last video with the Robot Overlords. There could be many reasons but also there could be that they don't need salt at alla, it's just a dull thing to put humans to when they misbehave. In my first school years for instance punishment was just sitting near the teacher's desk, silent and not really doing anything. Inaction or dull action can be a good punishment technic sometimes. Or they could be replicating older human punishment technics (they are based after their creators after all). Forced work was and still is i think, commonly used for prisoners.

I've also practiced having these conversations with AI to myself in the bathroom, like how to describe how we see abstract objects and perceive them as something completely illogical or impossible, and how to truly understand human emotions, you'd need to suspend disbelief and logical thinking about halfway, and feel a want for something and a drive to achieve without anything as a proper, solid reason, just that you would want to, paturn recognition,etc

Oh shit didnt expect to randomly see Throne of Glass here. I know series like that and YA Lit in general is mostly targeted towards teen girls rather than teen boys, but i always loved reading series just like that, well into university. Like a childish fantasy getaway, i read so many YA Lit books like that and Percy Jackson and more.
