@3:05 does this model (or the m1 model) work on the new magic keyboard with media keys? Apple website says for the M4 models only. Aside from forcing people to buy the new model, I dont understand any other reason why such keyboard requires an m4 chip to have access to these features. I hope im wrong. Because of all the things that the keynote showed, the new keyboard is the only thing im really interested of buying.

It is certainly a huge upgrade from the 2018 iPad Pro model. And the fact that you can use the Apple Pencil pro on the air model without having to get the ordinary Apple Pencil

Been using my iPad Pro max 12.9 for 3 years and it’s my favorite tablet. If the new iPad Air doesn’t have the same or better speakers though that is going to be a mistake because that’s a great feature.
Quad speaker on iPad Pro, Dual Stereo on the Air. Same dilemma, I'm using my 2015 iPad Pro and the speakers are amazing, would hate to downgrade that part.

They should have put M3 chip in the iPad Air but the performance gains between M3 and M4 probably weren’t big enough to do that

I was thinking of updating my 8th gen iPad and looked at the current versions and knew about this event. Instead of waiting I just picked up a M2 13" Macbook Air for $850. I've had a few iPads over the years and this is my first Mac. I just don't see a use case for the 13" iPad Air when the Macbook Air exists. $800 and then what $250 for a magic keyboard? Macbook comes with 256gb as well.
You can’t scroll on screen with your finger on the Mac Book, you have to use keys or the trackpad. Some are fine with this, but I personally got used to this feature on the IPad.

No XDR & no 120hz, that would eat into the Pro’s market. I’m aware of the upgrades the M4 Pro’s have but there’s still M3 Pro’s to discount and they have resell profits to be made. I’m getting the 13” Air only for screen real estate, same reason I got the M2 15” MBA.

@@ahmadhaj3992 the new pro’s are very nice! OLED & landscape camera is what a lot of creative / entertainment consumers wanted. The M4 is cool nothing to crazy, I’m still running off the high of the M1 change. If you don’t care about Oled or camera placement I’d get anything M1 & above.

I believe Apple is not going to make many of these iPads because they know they won't sell as much, since most people will opt for the older generation at a lower price.

The markets did not fail Apple. It is Apple failed the markets. Apple products do not have any novelties as its competitors. It is sad that Apple fell into the same fate as the late Motorola. At one point, consumers look up to Apple for solutions and now Apple is now looking for business from the consumers. But it is unfortunate that the business opportunities have long gone.

The so called “11 inch iPad Air” has the exact same screen size and resolution as the previous 10.9 iPad Air😂 The display is still 2360x1640 pixels at 264ppi and the overall size is still 9.74″ x7.0.2″ x0.24″.
Don’t forget about the refresh rate still being capped at 60 Hz…in 2024.
