Movements is an emo/post-hardcore and maybe a tinge of pop punk band from Orange County, CA.
On September 18th, 2020 they'll be releasing their HIGHLY (that word doesn't even do it justice) anticipated sophomore album, No Good Left to Give via Fearless Records. And they just dropped a brand new tracked called Don't Give Up Your Ghost
They've put out some fire releases like EP, Outgrown Things and their incredible debut, Feel Something. Movements signed with Fearless Records, more or less after their first show. I don't know all the details, but that's the gist of it. I find that incredibly inspiring for young bands.
I don't have much else to say other than, I love Movements so so so much. Not even afraid to fanboy out about it, they just seem like really great dudes. I hope one day I can grab coffee with Ira. I feel like I'd really get along with him.
Apparently Ira like broke his hand or something right before tour. (this was over a year ago btw).The hand he used to play bro... But this crazy beast of a man learned how to play all of their songs left-handed. Like get out of here, that's the coolest thing I've ever heard. That's literally pure passion right there exemplified through actions. It's crazy how I probably would have never known that if Pat didn't make an effort to gas him up on stage. All I'm trying to say is, I love these dudes.
We're going full pop doggie for the remainder of 2020.

The new song is pretty catchy, yeah I like it. Definitely a variation from what we're used to, but doesn't look bad so far.

Hey Nate. I’m lately having trouble finding good new music, would appreciate it if you share some with us.
My first time hearing Movements was in a Spencer's last November when I was hanging out with some friends. I immediately had to figure out who it was and why I had never heard them before. I struck up a convo with the cashier and later that night, I had listened to Daylily at least 20 times

This album was a work of art. The movements are so special and I hope to hear more as the years pass by
10/10 video. I also think it’s worth noting that Movements has said that Don’t Give Up Your Ghost is the most different track on the album. What you said in part 2 of the video was so cute. I love this band and I will always support them

My first time ever hearing movements was opening up for knuckle puck... they were insanely good 10/10 recommend seeing this band live
Same! I thought I came for Knuckle Puck, but when Movements came on it was as if everyone there was there for Movements. Something was different about the whole vibe of the crowd during their set. Something purely emotional and definitely left me feeling something.

Absolutely. The song that left the biggest impression on me that night was Deadly Dull. The whole room felt different. Definitely my strongest memory from that night.

They are such great guys! I got to meet them in Toronto last year but I tracked down Austin and ira loading up their trailer behind the club and they were happy to sign my albums and we chatted for awhile about vinyl and sound 😁

I love this song, yes it's a bit different but I'll always prefer a band trying new things out instead of making the same music for years to come

My first thoughts from the single were that the band is hinting at a more post-punk inspired direction for this album. The bass line is pretty strong while the distortion in the guitars have been toned down to be more echo and reverb heavy. It's like they were listening to bands like The Cure and Joy Division during the writing process.

I've typed the lyrics into Google and CZcams, even though it doesn't totally sound like them i went through every Movements song to make sure it wasn't one of theirs I already heard and forgot, went to their Genius page just to make sure I didn't somehow miss a song they released, tried shazaming it, etc. I've been looking for the past like half hour now. It sounds so good.

I remember when I first heard of Movements when the MV of Full Circle just came out on CZcams. I thought to myself *"Why the f### haven't I heard of them before!?"* Then I started looking up live performances by them and I saw a show they did in Manila where they performed Daylily. And when Pat stopped mid-song of Deadly Dull because he was concerned for someone in the audience who fainted... That's a genuine human being right there.

I see arguments for both sides. In this case I said "is" because I'm referring to them as a singular unit/entity. But I also get that there are multiple people in the b band, so I think "are" could make just as much sense. Idk man, not sure if I even speak english actually

I’ve been a long time Movements supporter, still am, but I feel like they tried too hard to be different. I think what made them so great was the simplicity, yet emotional music like outgrown things and feel something. This is still great but just seems overly produced. *sighs* hopes it gets better

Honestly i didn’t care that there isn’t much guitars, it’s just a very underwhelming song melody-wise. The message and their feel will be there, but as a single, you’d need a song that will HIT to get people excited for the album. This song didn’t give me that.
Austin said that the next single feels more like the real lead single to him. They wanted to release one of the more out there songs first before they release the real big hitters.
Hip Hop has been doing anime videos. It’s nothing new. They’re just biting what’s popular from what I hear and see 🤷🏻♂️ not necessarily a bad thing but just my take from it.
