Product-improved HK 416 upper. If you want an even better version, get the Caracal 816.
816 is not chrome lined just QPQ the 516 is the superior model for American market, the mil spec version is not available to US.
@@TheMonstervirus both engineers find QPQ ok. its just bad that 516 parts is unobtanium. QPQ will last a person longer barrel life and accuracy. Besides if anyone wants chromelined, people tend to just buy a different upper.
@@thestoic_rn8911 I bought another 516 fde for parts if needed. I have 2 14.5" 516s that are more important than fde.

Sig 516 was an amazing rifle to the HK 416. Wish they pushed the platform more.
I have both gen 2 and gen 3. The gas block on the gen 3 is heavier and it has 3 settings in stead of 4. I have fired side by side with 416s and LWRCs as well. Its lighter than the HK, heavier than the LWRC. This is still manufactured as a Caracal 816 gen 1. They are actually the same upper. I will be getting an 816 10.3.

I got a 10.5" 516 awhile back straight from SIG and they sent it out with a semi auto BCG, even though the pic showed the full auto BCG. They ended up replacing the BCG with the correct full auto BCG. Nice setup though!

@@shojus at least you got it bro I got stuck with it and now I don’t even know what to do. Ive owned it for many years and I’ve never had any issues with it yet but I’m just salty because If I ever go try and resell it, I wont have the more desired BCG. I also got salty over my 320 but I never sent that in anyways because they weren’t giving out free magazines and I i figured oh well I’ve never had any issues with it before either. Tell you this, I’ll probably never buy another sig product ever again.

I had a 516 when they first came out and only got rid of it because they discontinued it and the hand guard sucked.
Those uppers run well with cans.

did you get the correct bolt? I have had mine for many years and just found out they screwed me with that semi bolt carrier.
Seriously a shame. I have 2 of these uppers and they have been phenomenal.
I bought a Sig 516 upper with the 14.5" barrel from optics planet 2 years ago for i think $799.
Paired it with a Sig M400 tread lower which is identical to the original 516 with the QD sockets.
Its for sale $1600
I wish I knew about the bolt thing, sig totally screwed me over and now I am pretty much screwed as I couldn't ever get support for them on the 516
I just put a LWRC bolt in mine. Works great
