r/Prorevenge In today's prorevenge video, OP is playing with some fireworks and accidentally burns down his neighbor's fence. His evil neighbor responds by trying to sue him for $10,000 to pay for her trip to Hawaii, which of course OP refuses to do. Trust me I live in a snowy state and this logic is also present. They decided to crack down on snow days while I was in school. I can't count the number of times I had to go to school during a blizzard or one time the heat was busted so the entire student body had to wear coats.

To be fair, the new yard and fence likely added $15000 to the asking price of the house, so in the end she got a new house and less pyromaniac neighbours :P

He didnt save up 7600 dollars because he never had to pay that money to begin with, he saved 1600 dollars, as he was only willing to give her 2000

This sounds like the last super attendant my school district had when I was just starting middle school. She even lied to the school board about road conditions when the state said it wasn't safe for buses to be driving. her policy was pretty much if you're not dead you're going to school. It was so bad that one day my mother said "You and your sisters aren't getting on that bus I'm calling the school and telling them you're sick"

If he takes some time off to let his voice heal, when he comes back, it will be better quality, and possibly less recovery time in between, as he wouldn't have injured his voice any more that it already had been.

The story with the snow storm reminded me of when I was in grade school/highschool in the winter and would listen to the radio to see if schools closed for the day. Every day in winter was a possible snow day, it was awesome. PS I love winter

The last school I worked at also refused to close when the *government* ordered all public schools (we're private) to close due to bad weather. A tree fell during *lunch break* on the field where students were playing as a direct result of the bad weather. There was no such drama afterwards though. They just cancelled school (but still asked all the teachers to go back) the next day even though the weather was already fine

As a high-school student in a backwater town in a big county in Southern Ontario, yah, road get crazy out here real fast

My mom has driven in foggy, ice-stained roads before and almost went straight into a ditch bc of road conditions!!!
Edit: one time when I was in grade 4 (I was 10) there was a HUGE windstorm (almost like the one in the story, except the fact that the schools and roads didnât shut down as the storm was announced well after school started) and once I got of the bus, I was nearly knocked over by the shear force of the wind! Thankfully my older sister was behind me and kept me up.
We ended up spending that night in my next-door neighbourâs basement (our familyâs were friends) bc I didnât even feel safe in my own home (trees aligned the separation of my familyâs house my other neighbourâs driveway, barely even a meter from the house and I was scared one was gonna crash through the roof) The power was also out to we had no heating, which was another reason we stayed there, we brought some firewood and we all sat by the in-home fireplace and had played some cars games to pass the time while we got tired
Good thing it was a Friday and it was over by morning
If my child was in that bus, I would sue her at civil court.

I live in the MidWest also, and our previous school superintendent was an avid golfer. He made darn sure that the school year was padded with extra snow days so his Spring would not be interfered with. Yeah, he would try to avoid calling snow days if they weren't necessary, but he was always reasonable.

It is so immensely satisfying to be the good guy who succeeds a power trippy superior. I replaced a manager who was widely considered a prick, even by the customers, and he was ultimately fired after a huge incident(another juicy story lol).
I was looking for training and was hired by the company as they can pay me less and I had connections. When I came on, the people looked at me with fear at first, even though they were much much older than me. But I was a newbie in this industry, so I regularly asked for help and feedback. Our HR department was super cool and helped me bond with my department. I learned a lot of things from those below my position, and eventually, they trusted me and actively challenged my decisions and policies(which I encouraged).
Now we are super close, and even though there are tough times, my team always got my back.

This is the first comment I have seen that has finally noted how a rSlash repeats stories. Not trash talking it just gives me deja vu.
I don't think he does it on purpose. There are hundreds of thousands of stories and it can be hard to keep track. A bit ago somebody pointed out a repeat story and he fixed it so I think it's just an honest mistake.

Being fairly decent at financial management I have often found ways to buy any local homes that go on the market, fix up any issues and rent them out. I now have 8 houses and all my neighbors are hand selected by me.

Being an ex-school bus driver. I can say that any bus that gets sent out into a snow storm in Canada, can be refused by the bus driver to drive in those conditions based on Occupational Health & Safety standards and cannot be fired/written up for it
