Sync button is a DJ thing, you said it. the crowd has no clue what that button is and at the end of the day that is all that matters. not gonna lie when I first got back into Djing, I was scared to use it, because I thought I was going to get clowned if another DJ was looking over my shoulder, but what DJ is looking over your shoulder at a wedding????? and kudos to the cats bro I have two!!!!!!!!! they are my assholes!!!! love them!!!! this is probably one of my favorite videos of you by far man... (pause) can I pin this!!! you damn near hit everything I am and are going through!!! even down to the losing family members (wow goose bumps)
you said it bro!! so much doesn't matter!
Ima pin this man haha i got you. appreciate you being here through it all. 💪🙏
If you've been doing this long enough you've had to smile through some of the hard days and hurdles life throws our way. People don't care if you use the sync button. The bride doesn't care if your family member died. Harsh, but true. Tough times make us appreciate the easy days so much more. Well said, my friend.
Gina!! Thank you. the brutal truth is often the real truth, it is what it is.
WE SIGNED UP FOR THIS!!
Happy Birthday !!!!!!
lol that introooooo!!!!! My G 😂
Man your camera and editing skills are fucking so mint. Natural flow bro. All these notes are valid af. I use sync half the time at events but I can beat match all day. Sync is just quicker and leaves time to do SO MUCH more. Plus, if you’re looking at your bpm read out and adjusting the pitch fader by sight, that’s sync as well. It’s all the same. HiKevin, you’re my YT bestie and I appreciate your vids w all my heart, bb ❤
im just glad you saw it hahah
we WILL get you to this editing I promise.
Really like your video and advice here Kevin, thanks.
Glad it was helpful, thanks for checking it out 🙌
This is all solid facts. Also I use sync all the time idgaf lmao. I know how to beat match..started on vinyl..but I am not gonna spend 4 hours lining up every 128bpm song lmfao. I am trying to CHILLLLLL!! also...shout out cats...#Catlife
the three things we know 😂💪
Glad to see another school AV tech!
The foundation for our futures!
Well said Kev n Teddi,
Clean setup and presentation key to crowd and good SOUND
DAMN I never even specifically mentioned sound lol. Good addition, thank you!!
all good info
Glad you think so, thanks Thunder!
Awesome Video!!!
Much appreciated 🙏🏼
Love the info in this video! I definitely agree with your outlook of volunteering SOME time without a dollar amount specifically tied to it…FOR THE RIGHT CAUSE. Definitely an opportunity to grow your brand and reach out to an audience you may not have previously had the opportunity for. As you said, if nothing else - an opportunity for practicing some things, trying new transitions, and if a charity…a write off? 🤷🏻♂️
BUT where you are wrong - I DO care that you and Spinelli have been boys, continues to be boys and will likely forever be boys working in the same industry killing the game. Proof that you don’t have to be cutthroat and undermining to be a successful DJ. The right people will feed the passion and the business and everyone will benefit in the long run.
Appreciate you! Keep the videos coming!
Daddylac got me crying on a Tuesday afternoon
@@djhikevin pass the tissues Bob!
That was awesome because that’s what internet family does 😂😂!
Appreciate you!
Good points bro I am pretty much on the same boat as you! Great vid! 💯
We very much agree on so many things. Glad to hear you as well mention many of these points.
cmonnnnn you already know we boys 🤘
Great video bro! Love the humbleness and the facts presented. 👊🏽 I’m pretty spot on with these points as well
thank you!!! humility truly is a skill. thanks for the kind words, glad to hear we're like minded !! 💪
One time I played a transition edit during the opening of a night mostly cause it was a long edit while I was talking to a friend and after the “transition” happened a stranger came up and said “that was so good!” And I could not have been more clearly NOT doing anything lol
😂💪😂
Thats too funny man. thanks for sharing.
I used to use them for bathroom breaks, an old DJ peer said not to do that cuz then "they know you're not mixing"
basically saying I should pretend to do the transition?? idk mannn I'm just not that guy lol.
Those glasses 🔥
thanks bruv!
Great points! We definitely should be using tools that are available to us, including Sync.
Exactly. Or not! Literally whatever you want, it shouldn’t matter.
Great tips bro! I actually have a bunch of cats. Hopefully your wedding season is going well! Best, JB
JB! Going pretty well. how's things hanging for you??
Shouts to all the cat daddy's 🙌
@@djhikevinstarting to get slammed over here in Boston; have only done 10 of my 70 weddings so far. About halfway done with my prom season. Stacking up nicely. 😊
As jazzy jeff say play good music
It really can be that easy 🫡
Learn from your mistakes and others mistakes and potential mistakes!
The only disagreement I had in the whole thing was replaying songs, but only in a very specific instance.
If a couple in the bridal party (or the couple themselves) ask for one of their favorite songs for their entrance, but they also wanna dance to it later? We're doing that. I don't count the introductions in the replay, I guess. They don't get to hear the song during the intro anyway - we're clapping, talking...etc. Hell, half the time I'll recall that song later on and use it to shout them out.
Not sure if that's what you meant, but a clarification.
Oh good point, thank you for mentioning this!
I agree that intros don't count into the play, especially since they usually have meaning to the wedding party. but you COULD rock a party without replaying it, too!
@@djhikevin 100% you can do it without them. I think it's fun to do a recall, though. Make them do the thing they did for the introduction/entrance, but have everyone else do it with them. Sometimes I'll get them on the mic or even on the decks to let them go off. It's usually a fun moment.
@@MBrulla wicked personal touch man! Thanks for the sub too!
@@djhikevin A well deserved sub. You do good stuff.
How long did this video take you to produce? From writing to posting?
I think it's great to contribute to the community this way and I wouldn't mind trying
This was one of the longer ones, I start the writing about a week out so I hopefully remember things or come up with new things over that time. Then the real "storyboarding" of how it comes together, then the recording, then the editing, then the posting! so ya I'd say a week, maybe 10 days since as I'm finishing up one video I'm kind of starting the next one.
Appreciate you recognizing, I can definitely put how I make videos as a future video for the channel if you'd be interested!
@@djhikevin What a guy! 100% we all appreciate your content and the community is behind you brother! Seems like 40 hours+ went in for sure!
No one cares about transition edits, BUT for me there is a difference between a transition that takes a track from one BPM to another, and a transition that transfers from one song to another. I’m not a fan of the latter.
YES you answered my question perfectly. Thank you. I feel the exact same way!
