The aero is really good, considering that it is a convertible, which has worse aerodynamics than the coupe. Also the gearing is made for 300+ km/h.😀

True. 996 turbos sound horrible below 4k and no load. But after 4k, inside the car, its music. Especially under load. It's addicting

Going 280 is quite relaxing, but above that the car starts to get a little bit nervous. The only modification I would recommend to a 996 Porsche is a KW V3 suspension with a good setup. This is the best improvement for a 996 Porsche in every respect😅

Ist nicht mein Fahrzeug, deswegen hab ich nicht so schnell geschaltet. Die maximale Leistung liegt bei 6000 U/min, deswegen habe ich ihn nicht bis kurz vor Begrenzer gedreht.😃

Denn die Max. Leistung wird bis ca. 7000 gehalten und wenn du dann schaltest bist du im Anschlussgang 1000 Umdrehungen näher, oder sogar direkt bei der Max. Leistung. In dem Fall näher oder sogar direkt bei den 6000 Umdrehungen.
Weil es nicht deiner ist ok lass ich zählen aber mit der Leistung. Nope. 👍🏻
Very nice. I have a Turbo S 996. X pipe Titanium exhaust stage 2 Cobb tune. 540hp. Probably much faster/higher top speed. Cheers.

Why did you keep shifting before the 6100 rpm power peak ? This did gave slower times than the car was capable of.
According to technical data of the engine, the peak power is at 6000 rpm not 6100😀

Young man what is the whole point of high in gear accleration proves?
Good question.👍
First of all to show the power curve of an engine. And as an side effect of that you will know if it's really required to use low gear for fast accereleration on the highway. E.g. a Subaru WRX STI is down on power below 4000 rpm, so in 6 gear it takes nearly twice as long when doing 100-200 (18 sec vs 30 sec).
But there are other cars, where it does not make a big difference at all. E.g. the new car today gets in low gear from 100-200 in 28.5 Seconds, in highest gear only it takes 30 Seconds. So staying all the time in highest gear and using the wide powerband of the engine makes sense here.

@@DignitasCars hmmm don't quite understand maybe I am too old, in my time we kinda just look at the actually accleration time result regardless of the gear ratio, I am in my 40s cars built in my time focuses more on high rev let the engine sing to get the power, and the skill comes from counting revs for best accleration, thes days is all about low rev high torque and out put, so maybe I am guessing you are trying to get a data on that for this old car that was built during my time, these cars are getting so old now some times needed an old captain to drive it well.. when I was in my 20s I had to get a 40 year old guy to show me how to drive 993 fast. Nothing against age, just saying old model cars sometimes need an old captain, coz car does not change only the captain is different, lots of respect to you and this video, thanks.

Some engine have a lot of low end torque and power, like modern diesel engines do, so they tend to get better results in the 100-200 in the highest gear test. Naturally aspirated engines have here the biggest disadvantage. But you are right, older cars in general (till early 90s), accelerate faster when revving them out.
