In the beginning of the video I added a little reverb from a Dynacord DRP20 on the drums, all other sounds came directly dry from the CX1.
Wersi WERSI MATIC CX1 is a programmable rhythm machine / accompaniment from Germany.
The CX1 has preset rhythms and is also programmable. It's micro processor controlled, but it has analog sound generation for the drums and the accompaniment. A kind of "solina string ensemble" is also on board. Tape interface for storing own patterns onto tape - like on analog synths as Korg Polysix or Roland Juno-60. The drums sound a bit like the Korg KR-55.
The CX1 was also included in Wersi organs of the day. It's similar to the "Böhm Digital Drums".

No taking for an hour, just the music your channel is the best ! (sorry for my english)
thank you :-)
Wow this sounds so cool!
That's custom drum feature is awesome.
It's pretty sophisticated for the age of the hardware. Great footage.
I have the parts from a CX1 drum machine rescued from a Saturn organ, my plan is to build it in to a stand alone drum machine for fun
Please send it to me if you don't get around to doing that! See my comment above. :-)
I NEED one of these in the studio. Very cool!
Ich habe Ihn geliebt!
Wow! What a cool groove!))
This is amazing!
cool little box! Thanks for sharing
wow a box full of fun!
really lively sound , what a nice machine for the 1982 organ hipster
Wow! How cool is that!
thanks for vids of obscure devices that nobody knows existed, i'm amazed how advanced and good this sounds especially the strings
Gosh this is cool!
Sounds like Mamman Sani used one of theses on his album ‘Taaritt’, thanks for the discover!
Bless
friggin' awesome!
Love it!
i would definitely lay my hands on it!
what a cool drum machine!!! groovy!
That Disco groove though!
Количество лайков под этим роликом символизирует эталон аналоговых барабанных звуков! 🎧🎛️🥁
I need one🔥❤
I know it sounds like heresy but I think this blows an 808 out of the water anytime. I've got the Wersimatic 2, from which it was derived, built into an organ and also own the CX5, which was an evolution of the sample driven CX2. I'd love to own this one though. This is basically a programmable Wersimatic 2 with much better accompanyment sounds (Listen to that funky wah wah!). It is said that Tangerine Dream actually used either a Wersimatic 2 or this one on the Thief soundtrack. I hereby solemly swear that I'll base a full space music album on it if I ever get my hands on one. :-)
Excellent
I love!
i come back to this like once a month.
you like this easy listening style, do you?
Wow i need one! NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED OOOOOOOONNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Музыка напомнила Supersempfft :-0 Басс он сам подбирает или надо программировать?
got one for sale, but currently there is no sound coming out :(
a real string-machine on board !!
yes! But only controlled/played by the rhythms, not from the keyboard
I’ve been looking for one of these since this video came out. No luck finding one for sale
Sounds SO fucking fresh
powerfull!!!...
At first glance, it looks like an Accordion.
Never heard or seen this machine. I like it. Did you hear me Uli?
Sounds like Giorgio Moroder c. 1973 :-)
cool synth...
Dude where did you get this thing 😂 I would die for one of those lol I’m a amateur musician I guess but that would be so cool, some day imma have a nice collection of vintage instruments
😁 funky disco groove 👍✌✌ i have a wersi wm24b and i feel i have a real german psychedelic basssplayer who never stoppped the bass line 😁 /i dont have wm 24 drums, upgraded with cv gate in/
Absolutely fantastic tool! This thing is beautiful for 1982. Thanks for the great demo! Where did you find this CX1?
+Cubilas newspaper ad
+Cubilas, i was thinking the same. very versatile, great sound, and it's just so cute!
I don't know why, but I could see a CPU/input-output mod of this being absolutely sick. The whole package itself is neat as it is for live performances, but I could very easily think of a few things a great mod could bring to the table. Shame it appears to be so rare... Not much incentive to do it.
Wersi Helios has it inside
wow, I love it, best cash machine I've ever heard.Swap a Oberheim/Cassio Vl tone hybred for it. whetre do get these synths from?. Can I come shopping with you please.
In Germany you can find many Wersi and Böhm gadgets :-)
Catching the next plane. Love Germany you have so many great synth bands, and girls. Thank you.
Sounds great! Does it have any sync?
+MrFricoco no... this unit was designed for the entertainer, not for the studio.
: ( Still could be useful!
+MrFricoco Entire companies exist, their sole mission being the addition of fresh switches, MIDI ins, Battery power and fresher sounding hits.
+KingsCountyLightHaus Hmm.. That is vey true. Well now to just find one to mod...
Like !!!
Fun!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Totally cheesy, and completely awesome! I would love to find one of these!
Wow
hmmmm oh, yeah
Does it have an accordion sound?
+umajunkcollector no... but I don't miss it either ;-)
+AnalogAudio1 hey it's me again I wanted to know your opinions on the juno g synth. I'm 14 and found it on craigslist and it's going for only 200$. Should I get it or not... The screen still works to!
+Odyssey I never tried it, it's something like a workstation, has nothing to do with the vintage Junos from the eighties.
+AnalogAudio1 ok Thanks
+umajunkcollector LOL!
holy shit that reminded me of Super Mario Bros for a minute
Alex kidd
maybe hasnt stood the test of time as well as the 808 and 303 ?
Well, Wersi is not Roland... Wersi is mainly an organ manufacturer
I have the CX2. Seems almost identical to your CX1.
it is, the difference are the drums. The CX1 has analogue drums, the CX2 has (lofi) samples of real drums.
Thanks - didn't know that. Also, does yours have a row of lights at the top to illuminate the front panel? Mine does. The front panel switches are often problematic, they seem quite fragile. I've never had them all working properly.
yes, the row of lights is there, but no lights go on. I don't need lights anyway...
Can you play the keyboard separately or are you forced to have it play in an accompaniment mode?
+Geoffrey Parmesan only accompaniment playing possible.
+AnalogAudio1 what job do you have to afford all this stuff I'm 14 and just want to make sick beats like yours when I'm older but if want a good paying job to afford my hobbies
+Odyssey I was 17 when I could afford my first synth :-) and it was just monophonic - a Korg Micropreset. When I started to work, I could afford more stuff.
+AnalogAudio1 dang I just looked it up and it's like 600$ My first midi controller was a launchpad and now I have an akai mpd32 and I just got a casio sk-1 from goodwill for 6$ but I was wanting to know what job do you have now to afford all your toys?
@@odyssey2730 dang....6 dollar sk-1....lucky bastard
i have a suspicion that mantronix might have used one of these presets on a just ice tune he made lol :)
If you are on about Cold getting Dumb, that is one of my all time fav Hip Hop tunes? Where in this video is the sample you heard from it (or other Mantronic/Just Ice track)?
These are really hard to find period
It looks like a synthed up Rhodes Bass
I have a Wersi Delta DX500 organ that has one of these built into it.
Cx4, with PCM drums and using the organ sounds.
Sounds a bit like '82 era Human League
8:03
lol a drum machine with a string ensemble thrown in
In 1982 Curt Prina made a album for Wersi called International Evergreens to introduce the Wersi CX1 .One track was called "CX1 Calls Alpha Star" Its on You Tube here to give you an idea of what the unit could do built into I think a Wersi Helios. czcams.com/video/R0ZSZlKQjTc/video.html
It's half digital 😊
It`is microprocessor controlled, but the sound generator is analog. The same thing on the Roland CR-78 or Prophet-5.
Looks like accordion
luckily it does not sound like one...
Want
Sounds a bit like JMJ at times
