- In this video I show how to make booklets using greeting cards and lots of paper scraps. My apologies but for some reason the video stopped and restarted, so there are 2 parts.
Thanks for watching! If you enjoy my videos, please subscribe!
Love what you created with a card. Stitching is popular. I do not have a machine, I could stitch by hand the center, which I have done. I am also going to try on a pocket hand stitching. And to think, I just donated my mother's Singer sewing machine.
I know this is not a current video, but I am so happy I found you! You have fabulous ideas - and I feel so inspired!
These will be wonderful made from vintage Christmas cards!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to try one.

I would have never thought of this! What a great use for the beautiful old cards we are given.
So smart! Remembering watching this old recycling idea!! Love it! Having fun going back to the basics..... good to have these!! TFS! 😊🦋🌻
Love these, great way to use up stashed greeting cards. Thank you for sharing
Love these booklets, great way to repurpose used cards. It’s a gorgeous sunny morning (8:23 am) in Melbourne, Australia and we are heading towards 25 deg. Celsius (75 deg. Fahrenheit), perfect day. Best wishes for Christmas Wendy for you and your family (and Leo). Thank you for sharing. 🎄Sue 🎄💜

Love these booklets . You work your magic and create the prettiest things tfs
Love this, great idea! Now to find my unused greeting cards and start another project! TFS!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea!! I'm gonna try this definitely.
This was so much fun to watch....just natural kind of planned crafting....I love it...this is my first time to see the whole card itself turned into a booklet. Love the project...I can see taking a special card and writing memories inside the booklet of the special occasion but leaving the senders note and signature visible and dated for a time capsule thing....hope that makes sense.....thanks for showing your technique, Rita.
RITA MCGUIRE really great ideas Rita ❤️❤️
Love your videos thank you ....great idea for making booklets

Brilliant Idea
I am loving the ideas you have here. At the moment I am creating ephemera from papers I decorated with pastels and paints using different methods and then have cut into shapes like houses, flowers, hearts etc then drawing and making marks on them . I want to use these for decorating journals I make. I would love to see your sketches.
Brilliant idea! Love yr work, so pretty ;)

Wendy's Journal Adventure 😂😂
Fab! X
Wendy, this is such a wonderful idea, my granddaughters 4th birthday is tommorrow, I'll be checking all the cards out,. They will be so fun to make for her. TfS.
Laurie
Girl on the Ridge great idea Laurie, so glad you enjoyed the video ❤️
I'd love to see what you do on the insides of your journals!
This morning I thought maybe find odd & ends of paper & make tags. But I found instead my stash of paint chips & made/punched out divider tabs in different colors. Got to get one inch hole punch or larger and punch out paint chip disks for closing my books or put some picture on the disks with the paint chip color showing or putting initials on the chip circles. Lol my mind is going full speed ahead on ideas for the paint chips lol. What other ideas can be done...your idea. 😊😊😊
Maybe put/glue washi tape on outside & inside of folded card & sew/hand or machine 2/3 pieces of paper in for journaling. The less pages in the cardbook, another reason to make another & another & another lol, new card lol every week. 😊😊😊
Chancey464 hmmm I must try having fun with paint chits...you’ve got me thinking 😂
Love this video & would love to see anything you’d like to share. I’m sure they will be inspirational. Tfs. Tere
Voila!! 💡Problem solved!! 💃🏻Trim and distress my recipe for my creative genius!!! 😃Lol... Like we crafters say "any mistake is just another opportunity to be extra creative""😉🙋🏻😍😘💕 TFS
Great idea with the cards , you could have put the E.H. Paper from side to side to make a pocket for both sides at one time . I also like to trim a pocket and cut around an image so it can be included and not always do straight edges .
just a suggestion, a strip of lace could tame the harshness of the green strip... which, of course, can be applied to any area and card...
Hey! Like your reel ;)
Really loved this idea! Really beautiful card and papers. I love your positivity. Hope you have done some journal show n tell videos. I will be looking for them. New to your channel so lots for me catch up on :)
I’m happy I found your channel, new subie
Found your channel through my friend Liz Huey's channel. Love this idea. I have a box of cards from my mothers funeral in 2018.
My mom had a scrapbook of cards that were special to her. It’s falling apart and this is a great solution to preserve those.
Hello, Wat a lovely idea. Pity I don't have sewing machine! But I intend to use my cards for something similar. Somehow! Tks.
Hi! I just came across your channel and I love what you did here. Your little books are so pretty and really appeal to me. You are the first one to talk about and show the stitching process. Thank you. You mentioned a 4.5 stitch length. Is that what you generally use? Also, is there a special needle type, or size needed? I’ve subscribed to your channel. I can’t wait to see what else you post. Thanks for sharing. (Dorothy from Pennsylvania)
Yes....want to see what you do in the journals. I have lots of cards to try this also...yeah. hot here today Wendy 27C = 82 degrees.
valerie Mann yikes, that’s warm...feeling jealous ❤️
I just picked up 2, gallon zip lock bags of greeting cards at the Goodwill last week. Now how did you know that Wendy??? These are great ideas on how to use them!!! Thank you!!!
Laurie Crater I’m craft psychic 😂
I guess you are Wendy!!! LOL
I don't have a sewing machine yet, but am wondering if the glue eventually clogs up the needle, or if it's nothing to worry about. This is a really neat idea!
I was wondering the same thing. I do hope someone replies about this concern.
Easy to remove any glue build up but remember paper will dull your needle so change often. 💞
Yes, please let us know what you do IN your journals!! People are always asking me, “So, what do you DO with them?”
Hi Wendy, I'm Andrea and I'm a relatively new subbie. You mentioned several times about the odd angle. I was just wondering if your camera would allow you to place the tripod about a foot further back and then zoom in. If your camera will allow for that, you'd at least have a little more elbow room.
I'm enjoying so many of your videos. I like hearing your thought process on where to put things. Thank you so much for sharing!
~Andrea
I would watch you do anything Wendy :-D xx
Tracie Fox LoveJunk Journals Hahahaha, thanks Tracie❤️
agreed, Wendy is so amazing the way she creates beautiful items
Everyone talks about Edith Holden and I didn’t have a clue, but I found a whole book on the shelf. Yeah me. So I tore it apart so I could make copies better or use the pages. Now for a project hmmm
Thank you Wendy. Love your idea. I have a question off topic. Have you ever made a journal without coffee or tea stained paper? I am making one with just naturally aged paper, like the Edith Holden Color of paper and ivory. It is an interesting color combo. I was just wondering if you have done the same. Thanks again for sharing your ideas with us.
Donna Imaginethisorthat I have Donna, many of my art journals do not have coffee stained pages...they are bright and lovely 😊
This is my first time watching you and I love the idea of repurposing cards this way. I do have a question about the glue you are using. Is there any chance that some glue can cause problems with the sewing machine. Is your machine strictly for sewing on paper? Do you recommend this?
I want to know, too!
I love your videos and tutorials my inspiration!!!❤️ quick question, how do you get your need to not break while sewing your pages? Is it a certain type of needle? Sorry if that’s a goofy question very new to sewing and junk journal making😂 Thank You
Enjoyed this tutorial! Thank you. What is celery silk?
Wendy, Does the sewing machine get sticky inside when you sew over the glued spots?
Hi Wendy, as always loved the informative video. My question is, can you please tell me where I can purchase music sheets or even better, where can I possibly buy an old hymn book?
What am I up to? Well I am rearranging my craft room and looking for a shelf unit to put some of my stuff into so I can clean off my table so I can work on it. Right now I can do nothing as my table is loaded with what needs to go into a shelf unit. It is so frustrating not to have a place to work.
New to sewing cards ... so what setting do you use and type of thread?
I also read green for greeting...I need the cataract surgery.
Dose the paper dull the needle?
I really like this, but it is bothering me that the image on the front cover is sideways and the other's are up and down . Like I said I really like this and your work! Beautiful
Such a fun idea with the greeting cards! Love this! I would love to see what you do in your journals❤️
Where do you live? Are you in The States?
I suppose this is a weird piece of knowledge, but did you know that a straight stitch only machine will make a better straight stitch than a zig-zag machine? There is a reason for it... If you have the space, you can get old Singers cheap. (Since you sew so much in your journals). I have cards but probably won't do it. Great idea though :)
Oh, that's funny. I lived 60 miles from the Mexican border. When I read "green cards" I was thinking something else. Great video though.
I love this idea, but I cringed when you cut the Edith Holden page. :)
Love all your videos. I was born in Canada but Ontario and have been in California since 1955.I was at Tuesday Morning today and I found Iris napkins and would like to send you some.If you want them please send me your snail mail addressHugs from CaliforniaSue FlynnHi to Leo!
