What do you think of my Samurai Style SW arrangements?
Are there other themes you'd like to hear in Samurai Style?
Let me know!
Yes sir
How about Battle of the heroes?
@Paper Smith he already did that one
This makes so much sense for some reason, I feel like all of the Star Wars themes could work in this style lol
What about a Mando samurai theme? Or did you already did one? .... idk XD

By now we have so many different themes and designs for General Grievous that at this point we could insert him into basically any fictional universe and he wouldn't seem at all out of place.
It would be really cool to do a feudal japanese or fantasy version of star wars.
@Paulo Eusebio TF is anyone in Westeros going to do to General Grievous?
@@sayerglasgow115 What even could they do? If this is legends Grievous, he'd massacre everyone there with no trouble.
And last airbender is similar: Grievous has fought force users just as powerful as the strongest elemental benders of that universe and survived. Sometimes he's even given them a beatdown.
@@yuralltyrants6825 I would say though that while Grievous is as powerful overall as very powerful benders, he's not really well suited to dealing with highly mobile opponents with ranged attacks. Not sure how well he's protected against extreme heat either, and lightning could almost certainly kill him.

Hello there
Hello Shinobi
Katana
Katana*
Alternate universe where the Kaleesh are uncannily similar to the feudal Japanese and Grievous still respects his warrior past.
edit: Ok so apparently nobody gets what I'm thinking of, again, UNCANNILY, not a few similarities or things typical of societies introduced into larger worlds, I'm talking the whole 9 yards, as depicted in the art featured in the video, still Star Wars, not a totally alternate universe where everybody is Japanese, like in the art of other "samurai" or "Japanese" Star wars themes, but Grievous still has the exact same design but with samurai stuff tacked on, so again, as my comment suggests, the Kaleesh are uncannily or exactly the same as the feudal Japanese (culture and aesthetic wise), and Grievous respects his past and hasn't gone full flesh is weak.
Also, people keep acting like I know nothing of feudal Japan, I have done at most under half an hour of research from a few Gaijn Goomba videos and The Entire History of Japan, I Guess.
So the Expanded Universe?
@@Manda-LORE No? I mean, Star Wars Infinities is a thing but that's more of a parallel universe.
@@ronramen5827 well no, I was thinking that in the EU the kaleesh were very warlike and had honroable traditions and Grievous (at that time his name was Qamain Jai Sheelal) was revered as a great warrior in their culture. They werent exactly samurai-like as they used blasters and other projectile weapons but they were close to what you're looking for. I dont know much about the kaleesh in the new canon but I know alot of Grievous's backstory as a great kaleesh general during the Huk war was cut out. Just suggesting something to look into ;)
@@Manda-LORE Yeah, I knew all of that, but warlike and somewhat honorable isn't really what I was thinking, more like, again, uncannily feudal Japanese.
The Kaleesh are a lot more tribal, but they used guns (not blasters), and when they did get their hands on ships and what-not, they still were kinda just focused on driving out the Huk. I don't really see anything Japanese about them. I mean, great respect for the dead is something they share.
@@ronramen5827 eh, true I suppose. I always found the Jedi to be most samurai like. They're like a mix between the knights templar and the samurai.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one!

Hey, that's my line!
“OBIIIII WAAAANN KEENOOOOBIII” in Japanese grevious
This is how I imagine his theme was like when he was whole and not a cyborg and considered a demi-god hero by his people, before being corrupted and manipulated by hatred, sorrow, and grief. Before the near genocide of his people and the death of his family, he was a hero, and this rendition kind of gives off that vibe.
that's it exactly. nice job
@@tylergarrett7572 tis lore actually. it aint just his idea
Not to mention there’s a raw, almost ancient sounding noise of Japanese instruments that compliments the kind of society he descended from.
“Your Katanas will make a fine addition to my collection.”
That “General Grievous, you’re shorter than I expected” at the end was beautiful!
I think Grievous would've been one hell of a Samurai. Four arms, clawed feet and a total badass.
put grevious in any combat situation and he would destroy
Almost positive he’d be a one man army against any premodern human army.
Imagine an 8 foot cyborg charging on all fours at a line of foot soldiers and suddenly drawing 4 swords
He would look cool and would probably kick as but his personality is the complete opposite of a samurai. Samurai fight with honor, Greivous is a coward, used dirty tricks while samurai, even in war fight fairly

GENERAL GRGREVIOUS IS MY FAVORITE STAR WARS CHARACTER OF ALL TIME
Then you are a bold one.
same, love his character and the light sabers. (even if modern me despises his dirty tactics) I mean its hard for me not to like the robot man, especially with my current dnd character being a warforged cleric of the forge whose whole stick is that they are worshiping the god of constructs and they prioritize construct lives over other lives. (neutral evil, though personally I feel that was a mistake, would have been cooler to make a neutral good character instead, I imagine that one would be nicer and make little constructs and let them go free as a form of worship to their god, I am slightly regretting that cause I have a fleshed out backstory for a neutral good version of my character and I feel my evil character is lacking true reasoning behind them being evil other then they have a slight race superiority complex)
Glad we can all agree on that.

"This will make a fine addition to my collection" *saves with all general grievous covers by Samuel Kim*
I would just imagine Gen Grievous just roaming around feudal Japan as a Ronin, just absolutely dominating every opponent with his four arms and legs. He is the epitome of the term "Using ones body as a weapon."
I mean there was Benkei, a legendary warrior monk who was reputed for standing guard on a bridge to Kyoto and challenging any warrior who passed by. Claiming their sword as a trophy, until he finally met his match at his 100th fight for his 100th sword, by the blade of a samurai named Minamoto Yoshitsune. Point being, Grievous wouldn’t be alone in adding fine additions to his collection.
That looks like a Sekiro boss I never want to find.

As a grievous enjoyer I absolutely love your appreciation and care you give to this under used character

Grievous in Samurai is the most badass thing ever
Fun fact that I felt was relevant here: There was a legendary warrior monk in the Genpei era of Japan known as Benkei. A armored man of intimidating stature that made it his goal to stand guard on a bridge leading to Kyoto and challenging every samurai that came across the bridge. And keep in mind he was no samurai or one to follow the conventional idea of what you think a classic samurai duel was, as he wasn’t some kind of Minamoto Musashi kind of duelist. He was again, a physically imposing guy that was trained in the ways of war rather then dueling, not to mention kind of brutal, and unconventional to a number of the samurai he fought.
Eventually he came to amass a collection of 99 swords, some saying that he kept the collection or at least part of it with him at all times. He intended to reach 100 swords and would come to challenge a samurai by the name of Minamoto Yoshitsune, but that time he would meet his match. And Benkei’s time on that bridge was brought to an end.
Point being, Benkei and his sword collecting that targeted a specific group of warriors was VERY similar to our favorite separatist cyborg. And if I went deeper into his story, there’s legit even more coincidental connections you could find between the two.

"The enemy approach us."
"I do not fear our enemy, Miyamoto-shirei. Let them come and meet their demise at the end of my spear!"
"I admire your determination, Shogi-kun. But you should fear nonetheless. They may be an army of mindless, but the one who leads them is worse than any demon."
"Who is he, shirei?"
"Not he, Shogi-kun. It. He was once a wandering rōnin that fought against us on our god-given mission to conquer the northern regions. Nobody knew his name, his home, or his past. And yet, some said that he took on fighting as a respite, as a way to forget his lost love. Whatever his reasons may be, he fought with the strength of a thousand good men. Many of our best warriors fell to him. We... could not destroy him, so we forsook our honour that one time for the sake of victory. We had a cauldron filled with black powder placed on his vessel, the Junkyōsha, to be set off when he was on high seas. He should have died that day with the rest of his crew. And yet, he defied death. Torn to pieces, his bones broken and limbs severed, he lived long enough to float to the shore, where he was found by the servants of Daimyō Dokuzan, the lord of north. What happened then, we do not know. But soon after that, our forces started suffering even greater losses. Even after Daimyō Dokuzan fell to the blade of Sora-heishichō, we kept losing. It was at the Battle of Sōsei-ki when I learned why. It was when I first saw him. No more a man, but a monster: his body now a suit of steel armour of foreign design, with hardly any flesh on it, kept together by black magics that made his eyes shine like a pair of hozuki. His mangled face hidden behind the mask that made oni seem like small children. Four arms he had now, jointed like those of a puppet, and in each, he held a sword. I recognized the ancestral blade of the Clan Jōdan, whose last son, Suigetsu, fell not a month ago. I also recognized the blades of Hoshiyomi and Manzuki, both hung at his belt with two others, no doubt the trophies of his victories. He came at me after cutting down my entire squad with swings and strokes unlike anythng I've ever seen, and I am not ashamed to say I felt fear for the first time in my life. I only survived that battle because we sounded retreat. But on that day, Shogi-kun, I learned of fear, and that it had a name. And its name was Kanashimi-shogun."
Cool!!!!
This fits so well since George Lucas took inspiration from Akita Kurosawa and samurai films.
