Great reaction. Elvis was ridiculed, threatened, and slated for almost everything he did right from childhood and especially in the segregated times of the 50s and 60s but he just keep true to himself and his roots. He put it all out there and reached for the stars. That man had balls of steel!!! He was so far ahead of his time, incredibly talented, and charismatic. Eventually, the whole world couldn't help but love the guy. Never be another Elvis. An inspiration to us all. The GOAT!
Agora canta gospel e encanta igual!!! Ele é o pastor Bob Joyce , sua missão não acabou !!!
In honor of Martin Luther King. Great reaction Wish he'd broken free from Col. Parker sooner and extended his life. ❤
He did this in ONE TAKE, after rehearsing it once!!! This was written at Elvis' request just after the MLK Jr assasination. Elvis was AMAZING!
AND ROBERT KENNEDY -- “The song was not only inspired by MLK but by Robert Kennedy's assassination also -- it was after Kennedy's assassination that Elvis & producer/director Steve Binder had a long sit-down discussion, & Binder asked songwriter Walter Earl Brown to compose a song to reflect what had taken place (based on MLK's speech). Parker wanted a Christmas song but after Elvis looked at the song sheet he told Parker i want to give it a shot.” "Later @ recording studio when the track was finished only about 5 or 6 people were left in the studio & Elvis asked to put his vocal on the music; the lights were dimmed & Elvis asked for a hand mic (which was unusual @ time); he then lied down on the floor & sang in his way in order to learn the lyrics in the way that best suited him; Binder told Elvis to sing live to the tracks - no lip syncing & Elvis learned every note of the orchestration." Pls see "GATES OF GRACELAND: SECRETS OF THE '68 SPECIAL" at czcams.com/video/IZuVaRJZwcY/video.html to watch the interview w-Binder explaining how the song came to be at approx. 20:47.
He did in 4 takes for this performance and he also did 2 takes in the studio for the lip sync portion in the Stand up 7 days before this take that he sang live
Elvis is as Mohammed Ali said " the greatest of all time". There will never be a person/performer like him!!
i'm amazed every time i hear him sing....so handsome and so talented
There is 1 God and 1 Elvis.
Thanks
In most cases, a person usually needs to listen to entirely different artists depending on their mood except for Elvis. I really can't think of any other artists whose fans say he can put as much emotionality into his songs as Elvis or makes everyone feel like he's singing only to them. He has generations of fans, most of whom came long after he'd gone, and still has such the same powerful effect on people.
Hermosa interpretación,bella letra.Saludos desde CHILE, Sudamérica.
ELVIS always sings from his heart and soul and i mean every song !
Elvis put his heart and soul on the stage for that message.❤❤
The best there ever was. He was a angel sent from heaven. To bad he had to go back to heaven. ❤❤
You just witnessed the goat the greatest of all time the most handsome the most karizmatik the best voice the best Stage presence and the best moves the Entertainer of the 20th century just imagine what he could accomplish with the only a 21-year career if he could have lived longer it was 42 when he died and will be gone 44 years August 16th he is in for music Halls of Fame Rock and Roll country Rhythm and Blues Gospel 33 movies and a catalog of at least 600 songs I've been an Elvis fan since 1956 santimon milk to the borough and then Sullivan I was 11 years old you do the math AKA Elvis Junkie
I want Elvis That was supposed to be the most charismatic I use the microphone because my right hand just a little arthritic so I could do better on the mic I thought I could but I go back and re-read some of what I wrote but you came out of my home now but that's not the way the Mike picked it up so bear with me AKA Elvis Junkie
As an Elvis fan since the 60’s let me say that I believe this was his GREATEST performance ever!!
I totally agree!!!! 😁
Not only Elvis’ greatest, but the greatest of all time.
Elvis was very upset by the death of MLK and while he was with his songwriter, he expressed that loss through tears. So his songwriter wrote a song about MLK’s Dream speech. Yes, Elvis felt it through his whole body. No one like Elvis, ever.
This is so true and I cant stop watching. This performance is the best piece of Art I have ever seen... it makes me wanna be a better person and it saved me from losing my mind. Elvis was an Angel performing on earth
@@nancy9891 I can see that feeling he had come through/out in all the songs as he is singing. Many can imitate his voice or image, but none can produce the feelings/spirit of the songs like Elvis did. His inner being came out as soon as he started to sing a song.
Simply THE KING !!!
When he walked off the stage he had given so much of himself he collapsed to his knees. Hauntingly beautiful. The song was written with Elvis in mind.
“The song was not only inspired by MLK but by Robert Kennedy's assassination also -- it was after Kennedy's assassination that Elvis & producer/director Steve Binder had a long sit-down discussion, & Binder asked songwriter Walter Earl Brown to compose a song to reflect what had taken place (based on MLK's speech). Hi from England
I have been a FAN of ELVIS since i was old enough to listen to BBC Radio 1 in the early 70's. If asked "what is my favourite ELVIS song". My reply would have to be ALL OF THEM and OH yes i do mean ALL. ELVIS recorded around 700 songs.
BUT
This song is "up there". It gives me "goose bumps" every time i hear it or watch him sing it. What was it about ELVIS? Well he just had "EVERYTHING" and you all know what i mean
He crammed so much into his short life. He climbed every mountain, He climbed the TV mountain right to the TOP. Records went right to the TOP. of the mountain. The films he made went right to the TOP of the mountain. On stage ELVIS was the GREATEST performer of ALL time. He did not have ANY MORE MOUNTAINS to climb.😊😊😊🎵🎵🎵👍👍👍
I think that this is the greatest performance of all time.
Totally agree!!
This is so true and I cant stop watching. This performance is the best piece of Art I have ever seen... it makes me wanna be a better person and it saved me from losing my mind. Elvis was an Angel performing on earth
Never seen better
Amen..
I'm sure all us older fans of Elvis love that man. And his true love was US!
Elvis voice was so masculine and crispy very special.
We called him the King for a reason.
Elvis was the 1st, the innovator, he started everything.
He was a great man.
I absolutely agree that this is hands down not only his best performance but one of the greatest performances of all time by anyone!! NO, this is not Elvis Presley the showman like Vegas but a fantastic, passionate, powerful performance! He put everything he could into that song and gave us pause to think and ask ourselves why indeed!
Elvis as a person was as unique and beautiful as his unique and beautiful voice.
True, no one before or now has the emotion & power that Elvis had coming from his soul & his gut - which applied to EVERYTHING he sang - not just this song. INFO ON THIS SONG includes ROBERT KENNEDY -- “The song was not only inspired by MLK but by Robert Kennedy's assassination also -- it was after Kennedy's assassination that Elvis & producer/director Steve Binder had a long sit-down discussion, & Binder asked songwriter Walter Earl Brown to compose a song to reflect what had taken place (based on MLK's speech). Pls see "GATES OF GRACELAND: SECRETS OF THE '68 SPECIAL" at czcams.com/video/IZuVaRJZwcY/video.html to watch the interview w-Binder explaining how the song came to be at approx. 20:47. You may see comments about Elvis "collapsing on the floor" "crying w-grief" "locking himself in his dressing room for 2 days" - he was very disturbed about everything happening but there is some "over-the-top." misinformation & most people forget about Kennedy. The red tie was for the blood shed in Vietnam. Thank you very much from a new subscriber.
Elvis is the King of Rock and Roll for a reason! You should've seen him live. His Vegas shows were the best.
Excellent Presentation…Elvis is The GOAT …Second to None 🎤❤️
Amen!!
Elvis put his ❤️ and soul into this song.
O precious brother, Elvis knew the beckoning candle in the darkness is the love of Jesus in everyone's heart. Yes, he had struggles, as we all do, but he knew God is the answer and that is what we feel in this song! The first time he was on Ed Sullivan Show he was told he could not sing Peace in the Valley... too religious. He said "I told my mama I am singing it for her." And he did!!!
Cathy….How true….Yes….Elvis had struggles like we all have….That was exhibited in his last recorded performance….”Unchained Melody”…..However….Elvis’s love for humanity came through….though apparently tired and burnt out….(for whatever personal reasons)….Elvis sang that song with power….love and beauty than any singer….could ever hope to achieve….His imperfections-at the end made him more beautiful….
@@valeriekitover7363 As a retired nurse 👩🏼⚕️ it breaks my heart that Elvis was clearly in congestive heart failure when he sang his last song. Had he had treatment for it, he may have survived. Prolonged use of prescription opioids weaken the heart. While he was here he gave us more than a lifetime of joy and music. I grateful to have been born in 1954 and grew up hearing the King with the voice of an angel.
Unreal. The G.O.A.T.
Amen!!
Double Amen 😄🤗
This, imo, is absolutely his best performance. Maybe because all his passion about life was poured into it. Great reaction.
Nunca otro, como Elvis
This song was written for him ,Mr binder the director told his writers you know Elvis write a song for Elvis, boom
ELVIS IS THE KING BABY
my skin is rolling after this song, his voice is beyond anything you CANT find today and NEVER will only ONE MAN the
KING 👑 TCB⚡️🤟😎😎 Memories
68' Come Back...
Thank you Elvis
Elvis mostly did covers however, this was one of, if not the only song specifically written for him. That’s why, once you see the artistry of taking your audience on an emotional journey. almost every reactor has to exhale at the end and witness Greatness!!
Love Elvis! Loved this performance and this man since I first heard him as a kid.
God made him and he is singing perfect 🥰 💞 🙌 ❤ 👌
There are no words how great Elvis was ❤🙏 Thank you for your great reaction
That was great! Thank You. I can't listen to Elvis without crying. Been on an Elvis run since trailer came oit. Eyes all puffy & blurry. 😥😂
He was sent from heaven no doubt!
This song should be released as a single with unchained melody from the new Elvis movie YES!!!!!!
yeah good one, it is fantastic and yet not heard by a lot of the general public, it should be.
It would easily get an Oscar for the song if they let the voice of Elvis be played
God love this man.
Michael, You are right, I can watch it a hundred times over and never get tired of it, wait a minute, I did watch it more than that and I'll keep watching it and all the other Elvis master performances I've been enjoying for decade! Great Review. Thanks.
Probably the best song ever performed. I can't think of someone else who has presented a song that moved anyone who listened to it.
Totally agree my friend!!!
❤❤❤❤the king,the voice😢
My man Elvis beautiful inside and out
GOAT
The One & Only!👑👍
Just pure raw talent and passsion !.
What a great commentary on this song! You get it! Elvis had a killer voice.
And a. Chameleon voice that changed multiple times in his very very short life and career.

I’ve watched this a hundred times - It’s probably the greatest performance I’ve ever seen.
It might be my favorite!! So good!!!😁
Elvis….Passion….Love and deep soul
What a pleasure to listen to a well-observed and articulated reaction video. I am tired of 'reactors' saying "I have no words." Well, don't do reaction videos then! Excellent reaction and comments. Will watch more of your work.
Wow thanks so much Kevin really appreciate that mate!!!! All the best dude!!! 😁
This is my favorite Elvis Presley performance 🔥🕺
He was so moved by the deaths of MLK N JFK ... as you can see nhear in this PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE ... THE. GREATEST VOCALIST / ENTERTAINER / HUMANITARIAN ... 👌🏾
AMEN!
Inspired by the 1968 assassinations of MLK & RFK (not JFK). MLK was killed April 4, in Memphis, a few miles from Elvis' home. RFK, Robert Francis Kennedy, was shot 2 months later, June 5 (died June 6), in Los Angeles, not far from where Elvis had just begun preliminary work on the Singer special (aka 68 Comeback Special). RFK was a US Senator, former US Attorney General & younger brother of JFK (President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, killed Nov. 22, 1963). Senator RFK had just won the 1968 CA Presidential Primary, minutes before he was shot.
DON'T FORGET ROBERT KENNEDY --- “The song was not only inspired by MLK but by Robert Kennedy's assassination also -- it was after Kennedy's assassination that Elvis & producer/director Steve Binder had a long sit-down discussion, & Binder asked songwriter Walter Earl Brown to compose a song to reflect what had taken place (based on MLK's speech). I love your reaction 😍❤️❤️❤️ do more Elvis! Pleassssse! The first time I hear 👂 Elvis it’s when a was 6 years old…now I have 50, I know it’s crazy,,,, but I 👂 again his songs and I have 50 years old! Lol it’s touch my heart to realize other generation discover this incredible artist!
Ahhhh thank you so much!!! Will definitely do more Elvis stuff in the future!!! 😁
I swear this song gets me every time I hear it the pure emotion in his voice gives me goosebumps another great song by Elvis is In the ghetto 😊😊
I’ve got to agree.I’ve never seen more passion in him. And what’s so interesting too, for me, is that he sang this likeTWO months after completing the last of those sugary, controlled, superficial movies that he was locked into in a contract for almost ten years. He’s got out of the contract , and - BOOM - his passion is let loose.
This song was also a tribute to Senator Robert Kennedy and the soldiers who died in the 68 vieham war. People tend to forget that!!
Wow I had no idea!!!! Thank you!! 😁
THANK YOU !! SO MUCH FOCUS ON MLK, FORGETTING KENNEDY, VIETNAM
@@michaelwduffy HOPE YOU'LL READ SOME INFO I SENT PREVIOUSLY REGARDING HOW THIS ALL CAME ABOUT -- THX V. MUCH
Now THAT was a fun reaction to watch! SPOT ON observation. Subbed!
Thanks my friend!!!
Great reaction...totally agree with all you say...plus lets remember this was the 60's when race relations were at its worse with MLK & RK both being assasinated...Elvis put his career and life on the line ...singing for equality 🙏💞
So true!!! Elvis stood up for his principles not many would have done what he did!!!! Thanks for the comment !!! Long live Elvis!!! 😃
Great review and I agree this was his most passionate song ever...he made his voice rough to get the gut feelings he had out.
8 Mar 2022. I always love this song. I love Elvis forever❤️🙏🏽
He is the best!!!! Thanks so much angelita!!! 😁
Like 22 great performance re 👑 Elvis
Thanks katia !!
He had one of the greatest voices of all time. He believed in the equality of all people. I'm glad to hear this played again. We still need it.
So true!!! And I will definitely fulfill that request love some Michael Jackson!!! All the best bj!!!! 😁🙏
@@michaelwduffy Thank you. Will enjoy it.
Bravo! Your reaction gets at something I have always felt, that the way Elvis could give his all in his performances, was inspiring to the rest of us, to give our best as well, in whatever we were doing in our own lives. Let's make this world a better place.
So cool, i’m one of Elvis Presly fans since i was small👌👌
Thank you, Michael, very good reviews indeed. 👍 It could be his greatest performance ever, But he does have many others. It's hard to say 🤷♂️
Thank you colm!!!! I agree completely there’s no wrong answer for Elvis songs!! 😃
Amazing!!! 💯💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Unequaled live performance ever!
decades!
Coolness personified!
Michael, you are right.....nobody today can touch this. The song is all about Martin Luther King and Elvis was so affected by his death he did not leave his home for 7 days. It is his most passionate performance ever.
Great review. If you do not live too far from me, us being giant Elvis fans should go see the Elvis movie together. I think it will be awesome. This is the first movie ever on Elvis and Col Parker.
Michael, also when King was killed in Memphis, Elvis feared someone may come after him. This is the main reason Elvis did not leave his home for a week. Who knows, maybe Col Parker told him to stay at home until things calm down.
I love that you added some background facts to the reaction. Great job, Michael! Thank you!
Beautiful movie Mike. 💓
Thanks so much viola!!!!! 🤗
Great comments
A very powerful song... NBC didn't want him to do this song. Elvis did this song against Parker's advice... I'll never call him Colonel ... because he wasn't!
Great reaction Michael. You feel Elvis' passion and sincerity! Great vocal performance by Elvis. I've subbed... 👍 more Elvis please. From South Africa... ⚡🇿🇦
Thanks so much ivy!!!
Great reaction man, couldn't agree more.
Elvis was the little man
