      If these kids want to waste their own time and tuition, then they should be able.
      What's unforgivable is that they're disrupting classes and learning opportunities for OTHER students who don't agree with them or want nothing to do with them.
      (Columbia is an "elite" school, but these Ivy League Universities allow a small percentage of underprivileged people in each year - my father was one of them - who sacrificed a tremendous amount to get in and gain the skills/connections to make a better life for their families.)
      A lot of the kids who are being "inconvenienced" by these protests are there on hard-earned scholarships, or by taking out a tremendous amount of debt that they NEED to earn back to not end up financially ruined one day.
      These protesters have no right to endanger _those_ students' livelihoods and futures.

      @@Normanhandles weapons manufacturers are in mutual business with these colleges that are getting in the news. They donate state of the art technology to the schools in return for control over agreed upon curriculums.
      Students at these universities want to divest from these weapons manufacturers because the WFs will control the narratives of curriculum concerning historical events that would compromise their interests. For example: selling bombs that are used to commit atrocities. No school controlled by a WF would mention the details for that sort of event.
      Students want to cut the mutual funding between their school and American arms dealers.

      A lot of universities in the U.S. maintain endowments, which are basically finances set aside to invest. Columbia university has an endowment of nearly $14 billion dollars, portions of which are invested in Israel and weapon manufacturers. The point of the protest is to get the school to divest
