Please, when comparing a budget phone, please don't compare the camera quality or the phone itself to a high-end phone. Example would be comparing the camera to a galaxy a235g or a galaxy a54 5g and not a pixel or the galaxy s21 fe. Those are high end devices.

Even comparing it to other budget phone I wouldn't buy another Moto phone unless it was free. I bought this phone as well as older budget phone from last year. Comparing it to my Redmi 10c with similar spec but an older cpu. I perfer the user experience of the Redmi. The redmi cost roughly 2.6 times less than the release price of this phone. My Moto phone seems to lag more and freezes more compare to my Redmi phone.

@@peterparker2068 I bought the 2022 edge plus for $150. The best phone I've ever owned. I was hesitating because i had a few Samsung phones I used for over a year. And the Motorola phones I've had I used for six months. And Motorola I know isn't the best when it comes to updates, best decision I've made was getting the edge.

Boost has this phone for $60 so they are basically giving it away. Sounds like it's being phased out. What I like most is big screen, low price, good camera, and compatible with my laptop charger so charges very fast. And no fancy OLEAD display burning up the battery so it lasts 2 days. Less is more, people.

@MyNameIsUnavailable yup my fiance and I got ours for our upgrade.... Be careful tho with boost protect because I bought it with my phone and they added it into my bill that was due 5 days later a long with my old phones device insurance. Asked them to remove just the insurance and keep boost protect on my new phone so when I received it I could just activate the phone. He said no problem and deleted my boost protect as well making my phone forever ineligible for protection and they can't fix it apparently, even tho it was his fault. Luckily it was $10 but still pisses me off

You need to do a new video for the moto g stylus 5G 2023. It just got a major stability update. Now when you go to performance it boosted it's ram from 6 GB to now 7.5 GB . @@alontewells9324 you definitely made a good decision. Very good performance. Because of the Google update and only 1 to Android 14 after that, that's it. And this phone is only promised I believe 3 yrs of security patches . So your left with 2 options, you can either keep this phone for another year if your tight on a budget or it doesn't really bother you. Or if you wanna, you can get the newer Moto G Stylus 2024 to get the latest Android 14 version to 15. But I have a 3 choice lol. What I would do is wait till june of 2025 when this phone comes out and wait a lil bit more longer , let's say 2 months after to get a carrier promo. And always guys ladies never buy into insurance for a mid ranger or budget phone. Your insurance is just to be careful around water unless it has a IP60 rating of 7,8,9 or higher. Water repellency on your phone doesn't count and I stress not last but not least your insurance is just a screen protector and a shock resistant 2 part case made of a silicone body and a plastic frame with a military grade preferably. And the screen protector/ phone case you can find for cheap an never buy these from a carrier, their marked up on price 2-3 time's. Always look on Amazon where you can get a fair price and it can be at your door the next day or 2. That's it, you have successfully purchased a new phone, in joy 😅

I got a Boost Mobile version with only 4GB of RAM. I am not sure if the 6GB of RAM makes a difference. I got mine for $20 with a plan. I mostly use flagship phones and I bought my first budget Redmi 10c last year. I heard budget phones were getting good so I decided try one as a trap phone while traveling. There is a reason carriers offer the Motorola phones for a steep discount, they aren’t the best phone in their price range. I noticed that even compared to the Redmi 10C the phone seems to kill any task quickly. I can’t even watch CZcams picture-in-picture before it tries to kill it. Another thing I noticed is that it might start to lag if gets too hot. Not sure if it’s the chipset. Overall the performance is snappy for a budget phone. I wouldn’t pay the $399 retail for this phone. I would say compared to the Redmi 10c it has the better screen, better chipset, and better build quality but the Redmi 10c only cost $140 USD.

    • @oz7586

You got the most basic version for $20 and are surprised it doesn't perform well? Shocking

    • @tamwilfred
      @tamwilfred Před 6 měsíci

@@oz7586 This phone is expected to retail for approximately $399 when new. Depending on the specifications, it might even drop an additional $50 to $100. In my post, I compared it to the Redmi 10c, which has similar specs except for the older Snapdragon chip. Surprisingly, the Redmi 10c phone performs significantly better. So, it’s essential to recognize that not all devices within similar price brackets deliver the same level of performance. Also if you don't know how carrier deals work. They lose money trying to get customers to sign up for service for them. So as a customer, it costs me $20 for the phone, but Boost Mobile is subsidizing the rest of the cost to entice me to be a client.

Not at all mine runs great the soc (CPU chip) in this phone is actually pretty advanced for a budget device.
Just do a few things to help the software hold its own weight like:
      1) disable apps that you don't/wont use and clear their data and cache.
      2) go into them disabled apps and put their battery level down so they don't waste resources.
      3) TURN OFF EXTENDED RAM UNDER PERFORMANCE IN SETTINGS IT SLOWS THE DEVICES DOWN BY OPENING MORE APPS BY Itself IN BACKGROUND.
      4) TURN OFF BACKROUND DATA FOR 75% of the apps u do use only a handful of android applications need to operate in backround or waste background data.
      5) Disable/remove animations under accessibility menu in settings.
These steps will make this phone show its capabilities rather than it running sluggish

I have this phone. I actually got it when Boost Mobile was offering this for free when you switch from another network. However, my experience of this phone is not worth paying for it. Before this phone I had an iPhone 11 (another phone I dislike). Now comparing this to an iPhone is a no contest. Clearly the iPhone is light years better. So I have to compare this to my Samsung which is another phone I have. And my Samsung was also free with T-Mobile at the time and I can tell you the stupid Samsung is better than this phone. This Motorola is completely buggy and it just cannot handle the stress of apps. I even went to replace the phone 5 times and all of them are the same. They are buggy, slow, laggy and annoying. You cannot hold a lot of apps on the phone without it being slow. I can't even play games on the phone because it's so slow. The only good thing about this phone is if your broke then it's something to have but even when I doordash, I have to turn on the hotspot to use my Samsung just to be able to watch videos or listen to audiobooks. So it get a 2 out of 10 for me. I say 2 because the pen is nice to have.
