- Paul Gilbert shows you his 14 guitars which were used on the recording of his latest solo album, WEREWOLVES OF PORTLAND.
He starts from the setup of the amps and effects, which would be a good advice to make your guitar sound.
Guitars on this video are mostly Firemans, Paul's current signature model series from Ibanez. But each one is unique and used for different purposes.

I think it's hilarious that Paul Gilbert, world renown guitarist, has a studio that looks like most anyone else's might. It's not overly fancy, just pure function.

I absolutely love how most of his interviews really just come down to him showing us cool guitar licks and how he gets his sound. Amazing player and all around good guy that doesnt mind showing his secret methods on tones.
Of course i have been playing over 25 years and still have to do most of his solos at half speed haha

I like that Paul just uses pedals for his sound. Simple, nothing fancy.
I’m definitely more of a preset guy. I like programable gear, but I love watching him mess with his pedals. He truly enjoys it.
Haven't seen Mr Gilbert without a hat for a long while now. Take it off Paul! You can be a role model for all us baldies in the making! 💪
I don't think he's balding, there are few recent pics of him without the hat on instagram and he looked fine, he just seems uncomfortable with longer, messy hair. He couldn't get a cut since they were closed down.
It's also part of his process about turning into a "bluesman", the suit, the hat, the pentatonic licks. Cutting with shredding past.
I know, it's unfortunate, not the PG we grew up with, in the last 10 years he changed a lot.
That paint job on the mini double neck was cool. I wish he did a close up to see what was going on.
Appreciate the kana subtitles so I can figure out how to say some guitar lingo in Japanese.
